Jon Heywood, the Cheshire soldier who won GBP 13,213,838.68 by hitting a Mega Moolah online jackpot this week (see previous InfoPowa reports) did so on a 25p stake, operator Betway Online Casino has disclosed in a statement.
The 26-year-old Afghanistan war vet scored big in an otherwise depressing year in which his much-loved grandfather passed away and his father is ill and awaiting a heart and lung transplant… the big winner is going to use part of his new fortune to make sure that his Dad receives the best possible medical care.
Heywood told British media over the weekend that he may also splash out on a new car and a family holiday, but his father's recovery is his priority.
"The first thing I will spend it on is the best possible medical treatment for my dad. That's more important than anything. Family comes first and I'd give all this money back for him to be healthy again," he said.
"I'm trying not to get carried away and I really don't know what else I'm going to buy with the money, apart from a yellow Bentley Continental GT. I never even dreamed of driving a Bentley, let alone owning one. I've got a Fiat Punto at the moment!"
