Online Poker Companies In Brand Tug Of War

Splitting hairs on Spartan Poker and SpartanPoker

Two online poker companies are at loggerheads in India over the use of the Spartan Poker – SpartanPoker brand name.
Pokerguru, which owns the brand SpartanPoker.com, has threatened to sue the Indian Poker Championship over its use of the title Spartan Poker, and recently published a notification that it is not associated with the IPC version of the brand.
The IPC has responded by asserting that they are the owners of Spartan Poker and have applied for the trademark.
However, Pokerguru has apparently also applied for the trademark, and as neither have yet been granted approval the issue remains open to debate and possibly legal action..
