Lebanon Land Casino Firm Plans New Online Platform

Tenders are out with a January 19 deadline

The land-based Casino du Liban, located on the coast at Maameltein, Jounieh in Lebanon around 22 km north of Beirut, is in the process of planning the launch of a new online gambling platform, according to local media reports.
The venture will be in partnership with an unnamed international company, and a tender has already been launched with a deadline of January 19 to submit the proposals.
The RFP requires that bidders have a solid track record in the online gambling operational sector, and "should be already generating their own revenues of not less than $650 million, of which 75 percent should be from gaming and gambling activities." It also notes that the winning bidder "should be committed to investing a minimum of $15 million."
The initiative appears to be a move to replace or revamp the casino's current online presence at www.casino-oasis.com, an English/Spanish language site offering around 200 games from the Parley software developer and apparently operated by Spring Networks N.V. under a Curacao licence.
The media reports observe that as yet there is no legislation in Lebanon specifically regulating online gambling.
Casino du Liban has exclusive rights for gambling in the country, where it is understood over 700 gaming and entertainment centres are operating illegally. The casino recently filed a lawsuit at the State Shura Council against the government to preserve its exclusivity and push the state to enforce gaming laws.
