Poker pro takes down the $100,000 buy-in PokerStars Championship Bahamas Super High Roller for $1,650,300

US poker pro Jason Koon (31) continued his winning High Roller competition ways this weekend by taking home his biggest win yet, the $1,650,300 main prize in the $100,000 buy-in PokerStars Championship Bahamas Super High Roller at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas.
Koon, since 2009 a regular competitor in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure events which preceded this new iteration of the series, bested a field of 54 in the tournament, crowning an impressive run of high roller competition victories recently that has included six triumphs, each worth six and seven-figure pay days.
Koon's biggest problem in securing his current victory was UK pro Charlie Carrel, another young player who is showing huge potential at the felt. The final table also included formidable professionals like Dan Colman, Connor Drinan and Brynn Kennedy.
When Colman crashed out at third for $759,660, Koon faced Carrel, who had eliminated most of the final table players and held a 2 to 1 chip advantage. The two briefly discussed a chop but decided to go for it and the fight was on.
Carrel quickly built his lead to a 3 to 1 advantage in the first hour but then Koon staged a significant come-back that evened the scores, intensifying the action.
Koon held on to the lead and after another hour had increased his advantage to 5 to 1, and managed to despatch Carrel at second place for $1,191,900.
The win brings Koon's live tournament career earnings to more than $8 million (he is also a successful internet high stakes player), and his run of big-money finishes appears set to continue.
Other final table cashes included:
Daniel Dvoress $576,300
Byron Kaverman $445,320
Connor Drinan $340,540
Bryn Kenney $275,060
