Spain Gearing Up For 'the Fat One'

It's that time of year again when Spanish communities can win massive amounts on the national Christmas lottery
Billions of Euros will soon be offered to lottery players in Spain's El Gordo (The Fat One) lottery held every year during the festive season, and arrangements are well in hand for the three-hour televised entertainment spectacle which accompanies the December 22 draw.
Whole communities have in the past benefitted from El Gordo after purchasing shares for the same ticket number. The lottery allows customers to purchase 'shares' of any five-digit number between 00001 and 99999, with scores of multi-million Euro jackpots up for grab – 14,000 in total.
The odds on winning a jackpot are better than most lotteries, too – 1 in 100,000.
