Decline in horse race betting, but sports betting still growing strongly

The French online and land gambling group Pari Mutuel Urbain has reported its H1-2014 results, with GGR at Euro 1.255 billion – down 2 percent mainly due to a decline in horse race betting and to a lesser degree online poker.

The group reported turnover down 5 percent at Euro 5.1 billion, noting that sports betting continues to grow strongly, but that horse race wagering turnover has decreased by 6 percent to Euro 4.7 billion.
