Latin Series of Poker to re-brand following WSOP objections
The Latin American-facing live tournament organiser Latin Series of Poker (LSOP) is to re-brand following a copyright complaint from the World Series of Poker, which claims that the LSOP title infringes its copyright and trademark.
Diego Chan, president of LSOP, said this week that he has opted to re-brand his company, which will in future use the title Latin Poker Series.
He emphasised that the changes to title and branding do not in any way change the schedule of events in South and Central America that the company is organising.
Chan said the fact the World Series of Poker had focused on his company showed that it was making an impact in the industry.
"Being under the microscope means that our tournament series is really making a name for itself on the world stage, and it confirms that we are doing things right in taking our events to the poker world," he said, adding that a new revamped and informative website for the company would soon be launched.
