New Zealand T.a.b. Under Cyber Attack

Latest online gambling company to be targeted

The latest online gambling site to become the victim of a cyber attack, New Zealand's TAB, told media reporters that it was targeted over the festive season in an "unprecedented and concentrated cyber attack" which prevented punters from placing bets.

Acting CEO at the New Zealand Racing Board, Glenn Patrick told reporters:

"It started on the afternoon of Boxing Day and we've probably had seven or eight occurrences."

TAB staffers had to be called back to work to fight off the attack and protect the site, but Patrick emphasised that player information was not compromised in the assault.

Merge Poker and the Winning Poker network were recently the subject of DDoS assaults.
