The Danish Gambling Authority have this week announced updates to their certification programme which will come into affect at the start of the new year on 1st January 2020.
One change that will be of importance to both players and licensed operators that operate within Denmark is that of the introduction of deposit limits, whereby players will have to set such a limit before commencing betting on a site, or playing at an online casino.
The changes being made include ensuring visitors to sites with Danish licenses are made aware of responsible gambling initiatives available within the country. With Spillemyndigheden ( Danish Gambling Authority ) stating that: “Overall the update partly covers general changes across gambling sectors and certification areas, and partly specific amendments to requirements in the inspection standards for online casino, online betting and lotteries.”
“The specific changes are about responsible gambling. Due to the general amendments, new versions of every document in the certification programme are available.”
