Hey Guys,

I'm not sure this has been discussed anywhere, apologies if I have missed it - but MG's latest game has just been released to 32Red and we're quite excited. It's called Max Damage and the Alien Attack.

It's not like any other MG game we've got, to use their words... "Max Damage is a hybrid slot, arcade style, casino game, where the player controls a spaceship and fires at attacking alien ships ahead." Here's some screenshots...

As a new addition to our portfolio, we're interested to hear your thoughts on the game, so in true 32Red style we have an exclusive competition - post your review of the game below, along with a screenshot of any win on the game at 32Red, and we'll credit a £/€/$10 bonus to the first 10 people who post.

Happy shooting!

Mark

hehe...looks different and...interesting :D

Is it available in fun mode in your instant casino?

I was just in to a little visit at 32Red and noticed it started to download everything again.
I asked Amber in support why and she had no clue.
Don't you ever update them?:p

Since I didn't know about the new game I couldn't try it. Another day maybe:)

It's only available in download I'm afraid, but you can choose 'Practice Play' when you log in. :)

Sorry Tirilej, we're a little under MG's control, some games need a download, some don't - we don't always know. I'll make sure the team are aware. :)

I tried it for a few minutes and I must honestly say that it looks like something I played on my computer like 15 years ago and the gameplay felt like a boring bonus feature

But I only played it for like 5 minutes, so don't listen to me. What do I know about Microgaming games :)

But it is a original game!

Definitely a retro game, of course innovative in that you can now win money with your alien hunting skills.
However, i also tried it a bit in fun mode: i dont really get the reward vs skill factor?
Is the top score list for instance something that will involve future prizes?

Can you tell me more about the rtp?
I like the idea so far!:)

played the game in fun mode now for a while... looks like an old commodore 64 game 20 years ago... and i still dont know how it works

Hey Incrediblestuff,

I must admit, I had to read the instructions to fully understand too!

Basically whenever you destroy an Alien Ship (or part of a boss) you are charged 10 coins. This 'destroy' will award you with a payout between 0 and 10,000 coins. You can win up to 110,000 for destroying the bosses at the end of levels 3, 6 & 9. There are 'Freebies' in the game which are similiar to free games on a slot, you won't be charged for destroying a Freebie, but still have a chance to win.

I am not aware of any prizes for the top score list.

Regards,
Mark

finished 3 lvl, killed boss, it gives 41x bet for me ;)
so, i am just can tell that for every ship that you kill you lost 10c(or what you bet), and you got sometimes bounty for ships(max. i see is 2.5$(25x bet).
I like

Deposited @ 32red just to try this and screenshot it!

I actually found it strangely addicting to play, like an old arcade game you used to feed 10ps into lol. Took me a while to "get" how it works (not even sure if I still do!) but from what I gathered you get charged per kill and the kill rewards you back a random amount, kinda like a spin costing money but you might get something better back. Free shots are like free games etc with some ships being blown up at no charge to you.

Its a fantastic idea and very very unique. I think it will be an occasional play thing for me compared to normal slots but that was certainly £5 of fun I got out of it there that I spent on it!

Sorry for the naff screenshot, but it shows the end of the "free spins" - its hard to screenshot this one mid game! Real play @ 32red so I hope I get the tenner lol

Hi,

I am having trouble loading 32Red casino today as it kept coming up with error please contact casino support. Yesterday and the day before it loads up fine. I am not sure why. Perhap server is down or either my isp is up to no good again (Typical Optus)

Edited: Well game is loading fine it seems. The only other one like my promotion and my account the one came up with error, news, bank and my account also have problem.

played this a bit on fun mode, got bored after i destroyed the first boss, still cant get my head around the payout structure, is it possible to make money? will most games result in a loss? unless you hit one of the bigger wins? is it just a slot in disguise ie. each ship = 1 spin

Here's the official MGS release on this game:

MICROGAMING LAUNCHES OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD NEW GAME ‘MAX DAMAGE’

ISLE OF MAN – Microgaming has taken slots to a whole new level with the launch of its innovative new arcade-style game, Max Damage and the Alien Attack.

Based on popular retro arcade games, Max Damage is on a mission to defend the Earth from alien invasion. With 9 levels, 3 boss ships and the familiar vertical screen layout, the game fuses nostalgia with today’s most advanced gaming technologies, ensuring that every attack on the invading life form is enhanced by premium graphics, high quality sound effects and top level gaming power.

Players are given six lives to work their way through the game, with bets placed and points awarded according to the number of aliens destroyed. Enemy spacecrafts can fly at the player’s ship either individually or in formation, heightening the danger and upping the player’s chance of losing a life. However, the aliens don’t have it all their own way, as Freebies, Boosters and Upgrades are available to players throughout the game, helping them to defeat the assailants and increasing their chances of winning a big payout.

Potential Freebies include Missiles, Wormholes and Nukes, while Boosters can provide the player with enhanced Life, Health and Shield levels. Unlike standard slot games, Max Damage also enables players to earn a place on the game’s leaderboard, which displays top scores and fires up the level of inter-player competition.

Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, comments: “Max Damage and the Alien Attack is a radical departure from the conventional slot format and we’re very excited about the potential for this new arcade-style game. At Microgaming we’re always looking for new ways to produce innovative content, so this move into a whole new style of game is particularly important to us. Fans of retro gaming will not be disappointed, while the top quality graphics are sure to please the whole spectrum of players.”

Max Damage is the first in a series of arcade-style games to be released by Microgaming, as it looks to bring an extra dimension of choice to online gaming.

Could you ask Roger why a bunch of other games need to be updated just to get this one new game in. Bandwidth costs money, and software written for use over the internet should do it's best to ensure that only the minimum necessary for full functionality is downloaded.

For example, why does banking, or HipHopOpotamus need to be downloaded all over again, and not just the once either, but at every single MGS casino launched after the release of one game.

ba hahahahahaha, $80 bonus round wins, but I spend about 85 to get them; so not making a dime even though nice wins. Me and my sausage fingers keep hetting the ctrl key when going for space...soooo not a gamer :P

help

maybe someone help understand i play it i complete all stage ...at the end of every stage i read to the right total win (amount) but this amount don't go im my cash balance??? i close the game but my cash balance don't update with the win?? even at the end of the final stage say you win 14000 coins it show the lederboard but the 14000 coins don't go in my cash balance maybe i don't understand something?

So is this a random game then?

A skill game?

An AWP game?

Some or all of the above?

Does anyone have any idea whatsoever what the RTP is and if its influenced by player choice/skill at all?

I'm not going to reinstall any MG casinos to find out for myself, but I must confess I'm curious. If 'Arcade Game' is a new category, some sort of explanation from its creators should be forthcoming I think.

Played it... didn't have the faintest clue what I was supposed to be doing... apart from shooting space-ships which was piss-easy... didn't appear to get any sort of "reward" for killing the boss at the end of level 3... bank roll plummeted.

Unless I'm seriously missing something here - this looks like the most boring & pointless game ever! :(

It's a joke, check out what I won
However, my balance after it? $31

View attachment 35117

May have 'gotten' that; but what I 'shot' leaves a 31 balance; that doesnt get added to your total

not a joke the same screen i get at the end but the win don't go in my credit balance ... i think it's a bug if true the casino must refund several $ :( i must contact the rep .. damn microgaming always worse

I notice this is described in the 32Red lobby as an "Arcade Game"... so if you are playing with a bonus, does it count 100% toward WR like slots do?

KK

Good question. I noticed in the MGS press release that they first indicated that it was a "slot" game with this sentence Microgaming has taken slots to a whole new level, but at the same time they are describing it as an arcade-style game.

Also agree with ChopleyIOM that players should be given more information about what kind of a game this actually is.

They also wrote that this game was the first in a series, so we will probably see more similar games from MGS.

Though...gotta wonder....won another "hundred" resulted in same balance

View attachment 35118
sorry i don't want to bother but at the end of each round you see total amont win ... i think this amount must go in credit balance ? in my game this amount don't go....? and i repeat also the final round win don't go i see i win ... leaderboard and no money you play 32red with dollar and work.... i play in another casino with euro maybe don't work

Hmm, yeah..if I won 14479 credit (so, $144.79), and got left with a balance of $31, that means I still would have to have shot FOURTEEN hundred times during the bonus round since I'm betting a dime.
Where's the 32Red rep to explain this to us

Oh, and since I don't understand the win/loss thing, I'll take the free tenner:

Screenshot and review:

It's interesting to have an interative game. However it does get exhausting clicking. Sure, there's an auto-fire, but if I pay for every shot, it's like shooting fish in a barrel.
The rules are convoluted, and wins don't seem to add up. So far, not my favourite.ouch2.webpouch.webp

played it a bit for cash, started with £6. balance went up and down around £6-9 first 2 levels, then hit a 250x just before the level 3 boss, killed boss and got $1.80, balance now at £30 after 3 levels complete.

it adds and deducts from the balance the whole time, so yeah you may have won 144 but in reality you also spent about 120+,

one thing i can see this useful for is bonus grinding, although I'm sure it ll be nerfed to 0% pretty soon.

My effort, started at £12 ended at £36.60 highest was about £42, died on the final boss and got him 2nd time round

second attempt started at £16.60 ended at £61.90

game is not bad but just as random as playing a slot, maybe a little mind numbing after a while, but probably great for clearing a bonus wr.
Oh and being a video gamer most likely helps.

currently sat in 2nd and 3rd on the leaderboard, £70 profit from 2 games @ minimum stake :D

It's more a lottery type game than a slot. You bet 10 coins every time you kill an alien ship, not every time you shoot, therefore skill isn't really an element. The better you are at shooting, the faster you make bets. Your win is random, and does not get better if you are skilled enough to go all the way and beat the level 9 boss.

It is like an old style arcade video game, but with some gambling on the side.

It seems the coins are taken and added along the way, so when you reach the end and it shows you how many coins you have won, they have long since been added to the balance, so unlike a slot bonus round, you don't get it added at the end.

This game also has the potential for triggering the "I deposited with a zero balance, and some turned into bonus credits" problem. This might happen when you are half way through a level on a bonus, and run out of coins so can't shoot down any more ships. You will be thrown out of the game, but being mid way through a level, you will store an "incomplete game" on the system.

At this stage, I do not believe I can empty it:(

Back to HipHopOpotamus then:D

Ah, so if you only pay when you hit, you can fire unlimitedly. Then it still sucks, because even 'ending' with an over hundred win, means you spent roughly a hundred if you get a few dollars. I'd sooner it just said 'congratulation, you won 3 bucks' so I'd know.

Okay, well, now that I've figured the damn game out, it's really not fun at all; you can literally hold down the space bar, and go all left, all right, all left and literally strafe the sky, never lose a life and go from round to round. Problem, the pay sucks....up, down, up, down...and of course eventually down unless you want to deposit and play more. I'm sure there's some random decent hits, but there's zero skill really.

Verdict: thumbs down. boring, monotonous, time consuming, fun for 2 minutes for the novelty.
