Can anyone from the industry confirm if this is the standard now, or just cos LeoVegas use AI to verify card details?

They're demanding I upload my card with all numbers showing, not just the front, less four numbers and CVV on the back obscured/redacted. Surely giving them a picture of all the details is dangerous baring in mind a few casinos have lost personal details (though cannot find the link to this on the forum), and all 'assurances' from the Live Chat agent ain't gonna change my mind.

I very rarely play at LeoVegas so no loss, just found my account today locked.

Yep. Its a massive pain but it is legit.

I've done verification of payment method loads of times, but never been asked to show all the card numbers, including CVV on the back. I sent one I've used elsewhere with certain numbers blacked out, but the automated system rejected, where is the human doing these checks and common sense gone?

Even when cards are lost and shared on Facebook, the regular public know to obscure some of the details so it cannot be sued to buy stuff online.

Got to be crazy sending full card details inc CVC to anyone, nothing else needed to make purchases other than your address which
the casino will have on file.
One day the lack of security surrounding the documents and info the casinos are demanding is going to blow up big time.

We have previously used HooYu as our verification partner and I will say they are trustworthy and that their software will redact the sensitive card numbers when you upload them.

I will also say that as a player myself, I’d never upload my card with the full number showing.

This was just an identity check, so Proof of Address and Payment details, the support said they need to know who I am, or in their words 'need to know, you are you' so the full card number details are irrelevant. Its clearly cos the system is automated; and not new UKGC rules; and the 'machine' can't deal with random blacked out numbers.

I get the need for SoW fully unredacted Bank statements (though I won't comply with it) as Casumo and others were fined for this, but doubt many people will verify this way if showing full card details become the norm. It may be cheaper and quicker to verify this way, but think they'll lose lots of customers.

HooYo is an AI-based ID verification service, but they also do manual checks if needed. So LeoVegas is entirely relying on their platform. The thing is why would they need to see all the card numbers at all? The card front usually shows them 12 numbers, sort code, account number, name and owner's surname. By observing the back of the card they can see a mirror view of the details with front numbers except for those 4 covered.... huh... I would give them nothing.

They do not need all the card numbers shown to perform a photo forensic analysis to determine a fake.

@TheSchwad he mate, when we get results back from hooyu, the middle numbers are covered, their software does this when sending results back to us. So we cant see your full card details, just bin and last 4 like you would normally supply them.

Just because HooYo sends them to you missing details, does not mean that a rogue employee of YooHo can't steal details, or have their database compromised.
I am pretty sure their processes are secure and the card details being redacted at the point of upload, meaning any copies the rogue employee had access to would be safe.

That said, I stand by my earlier comment that I wouldn't send unredacted card details!

Hi Mark, if you wouldnt send full card details, you must think there is a chance however small that the data could be misused.
its either 100% secure or not
I never said it was 100% secure.

As I said earlier, I fully trust HooYu but regardless of the company who requests it, the company processing it or what prize I get for submitting it - I wouldn't send full card details as there is no benefit in doing so, in fact it creates more risk for the receiving party to ensure they are PCI compliant etc.

Went through the HooYu process and it was awful.

The backup from LeoVegas was twice as bad.

It's legit, and LV don't see any details, but HooYu's system does. So you are putting a lot of faith in a company by giving up your details in full.

After 6 months of being caught up in the system, @maxd sorted the withdrawal via PAB.

It's not the fact that things go wrong that winds me up, it's when it keeps going wrong and all sense and logic goes out the window for finding a resolution. LeoVegas customer support was no help - No recording of previous conversations, no system notes, a refusal to recognise a request to make an official complaint, and a continually frustrating response of textbook answers.

Combined with a human element for cases that HooYu cannot manage, LeoVegas would serve its customers much better.

LeoVegas and HooYu combined are the real-life horrifying version of this, just not as funny....

Think there is so much stuff done by computer now and so little human interraction,it make most dealings with casinos a nightmare,
I would think the casinos dont have much choice with the workload put on them by the regulations.

This is so frustrating. Did they give you no other option? It feels like they don't want people to use their platform.
There is no such thing as 100% secure today. Although some credit companies will cancel transactions that you report are not made by you.

Either way, it's super annoying. Are you from the UK?
