$100,000 win

Thanks Jetset, some people sure do weave a complicated web!

Perhaps I should hold my breath and hope that the new owners are a little bit more communicative?

I still have nothing from anyone associated with the casino except for one brief message from Sam asking me to let him "try and get some information", although the OPA tell me they have made contact. It sure will be interesting to see what happens from now.

Hi all,

Arcada casino has finally responded to this complaint, and to make a long story short, has accused the player of cheating:

Here in an excert:

This is a statement from the Management at ArcadaCasino.com regarding "the player's" claim for $100,000.00 and the hundreds of harassing and threatening emails received from "the player". His claim is Fraudulently Criminal as is his attempt at extortion. This is also addressed to Brian Cullingworth, Steve Adkins from Online Players Association, Bryan Bailey of casinomeister, and other organizations trying to resolve this matter for him, and we question their motives and bad faith.

Before paying out a jackpot claim of $100,000.00 which does wonders for our casino in terms of publicity, it is in the best interest of ArcadaCasino and the entire Online Gambling Industry to perform some verification and research before paying it out, in order to make sure that the claim is authentic and warranted.

Our findings are as follows:
"The Player" and a group of associates have fraudulently de-compiled the Client Side of the JAVA applet and attempted to manipulate the results to falsely portray a winning hand. Fortunately, we have a security feature that allows us to recognize the authenticity, from the server, of the result for any given hand. This fraud control system unnoticeably detects whether or not the hand has been successfully and randomly generated without manipulation. In "The player's" case, the result was absolutely tampered with and not generated randomly by our random number generator. Therefore, due to the fraudulent and criminal nature of "The Player's" wagering, we are not in a position to honor his fraudulent claim.

***end of excert

Comments, rebutals anyone?

I am deeply offended at being accused of having ulterior motives by this casino simply because I assisted a player in trying to get a response.

Had the casino responded in a timeous, efficient and responsible manner to a client who had apparently just won 100K such assistance would not have been necessary.

So - point one. Why did it take the combined efforts and industry knowledge of several people here and at WOL to even get these people to ackowledge emails after well over a week?

Point 2. They have not produced a shred of evidence to back up their belated accusation of crooked conduct by their customer. So - are we to simply accept their unilateral declaration of criminal conduct? Where is the detail and the proof? Is this their grounds for denying the win? Why has it taken so long to reach this conclusion? And how secure and sound is a gambling software which apparently can be so easily breached?

Point 3. In terms of "truth in advertising" is there really a 100K jackpot on this site or is this just a spurious "come-on"? In light of these developments perhaps the casino should publicly affirm (preferably with evidence of a seperate float or escrow account)right here that they have the capacity to pay out such a jackpot if it is won?

Point 4. Why would a responsible casino resort to "shill" defensive tactics on this issue such as we have seen on message boards?

Point 5. If 100K Winner really is a crook he is a most bold and persistent one IMO. He is still seeking a fair resolution long after a real crook would have decamped.

I do not like the smell of this affair or the way in which this casino throws unsubstantiated accusations and threats around.

And I am now definitely wary of its software!

Hi Brian,

I too am offended at their statement "and we question their motives and bad faith". Question my motives? All I wanted was for them to respond to MY email and MY questions concerning their questionable business practices; their questionable casino.

It took them three weeks to respond, which is a death blow to any business that hopes to save face. And whoever wrote this pathetic statement must have gone to the Claude Levy school of business writing; it drips with overreactive emotional subjectivity.

A Rogue casino plain and simple.

Arcada's claims are false and without any facts to bear out the case.

Arcada want to make me a criminal? One hour of fun turns into 3 weeks of waiting and then allegations of fraud.

They will have no proof of their claimed fraud, because there is nothing to prove. I know I played fairly, they will also know I played fairly.

Rules changes after the fact don't look good. Alegations of fraud without proof also don't look good.

Hey, but let's look on the bright side, they did finally respond and it only took 3 weeks!

"Have they been in contact with you recently?"

Nope. I havn't heard a thing. So far they are sticking to their word about not responding.

My feeling is they just want it to go away quietly.
