and number 4: Advantage Player  I mean how does one take advantage of a casino? I did look it up in the Casinominister Glossary, and I cant see how casinos can discriminate against someone who tries to win, versus someone who doesnt?

Anyhooo this thread promises to be very educational (for myself anyway) shall watch with interest:p

Bonus abusers: Taking a bonus over your knee and spanking a withdrawal out of it.

Example - John takes a deposit bonus and makes a withdrawal immediately after clearing the wage requirement instead of playing his balance back down to zero. Shame on John.

Unusual betting patterns: Placing an abnormally high number of bets that win money compared to the number that lose.

Example - John is playing game A and is doing well but game A stops hitting so John moves to game B while he's still ahead. Game B allows him to continue to win and John does not go broke. Suspicious.

Minimal risk wagering: Placing only bets with money you originally deposited and never with money you reversed from a withdrawal.

Example - John quits while he's ahead and submits his withdrawal. John waits patiently for his withdrawal to be processed and refuses to reverse it and risk losing his money. John is a coward.

Of course the definitions change according to each casino. You might want to verify these on a casino to casino basis.

All four are really different ways to describe one thing, a player who sets out to WIN, and do so as efficiently as possible.

Unusual betting patterns really means "disciplined betting patterns", rather than the illogical betting of someone who doesn't quite know what they are doing, but like to see the reels spin, lights flash, etc.

Casinos don't make money from clever players, and in B & M casinos they may end up being thrown out for being too good at the games. Unlike B & M though, with online casinos such players can also be mugged by management on their way to the exit:rolleyes:

I was often thrown out and banned from fruit machine arcades for being "too good" at playing the machines. At least there is some merit in this, the games are not random, so can be beaten:D Any online casino toying with the idea of making their software non random should beware of the Brits:p

1) Bonus abusers?
Term often used to describe the situation where a player is better at math than the casino manager.

2) Unusual betting patterns?
Term often used when both the casino and the player think betting strategies influence luck.

3) Minimal risk wagering?
Term often used by casino managers that don't understand low variance is good for the house.

4) Advantage player?
Again, term used to describe a player better at math than the casino manager.

There you go. Any casino owner/manager who has any intention of making any sort of long term profit and loyalty from your players - there it is.

Set the house edge, release the game on the public, watch some money go out - but significantly more flood in.

Saves an awful lot of time on those troublesome Ts&C's (Trip up & Catch) :D

That is the first time I've heard of anyone being thrown out or banned from a casino for being too good:lolup:, if this were the case for me at my local casino when I first joined, I'd have been kicked out too, but not for playing fruit machines, I only played them in the chippy;), my vice back then was poker machines, I was hitting the Royal flush every week! God those were the days:rolleyes:

It is often Blackjack players that get thrown out (card counting), but there was a case of a woman that spent £10 every week without fail at her local casino, and when that tenner was gone, she went home. One visit she had a massive win from her tenner. The following week she returned, but with only the usual tenner. The week after, she was thrown out because the casino manager was not going to put up with her ONLY risking a tenner a week after she had won so much earlier, even though they had taken her weekly tenner before then for YEARS.
Her only "crime" was to gamble responsibly, rather than "high rolling" after a big win.

You can get a similar situation online, and a while ago there was a rash of complaints about players being thrown out of online casinos because their accounts were deemed to be not profitable enough because they were more or less playing like this woman in the story. Even players who never took the bonuses were being deemed unprofitable and thrown out.

Quite a few fruit machine players have been thrown out of arcades for being too good. I was thrown out of a Blackpool pleasure beach arcade, and on the "golden mile" I was told by a local that anyone who appeared to live nearbly rather than being on holiday was likely to get chucked out because they could learn the game patterns, and beat them (which is actually true).

Modern fruit machines are less predictable than they were in the "golden age", which is a shame.

Apologies for the OT, but any idea how the online fruit machines at MG Casinos work? I had to do the dreaded uninstall/reinstall last week to get the new games to fully load (it worked FWIW) and noticed the UK Style Fruit Machines have their own directories in the MG folder - that's probably something to do with it?
Yes;)

Unfortunately, in order to get a return to normal service, I had to agree to a MAXIMUM of 10,000 words a day with my keyboard.

It has also asked me to liaise with interested Polish players for a character exchange. Their vowels for my grossly underused Z,X,V,Q,J keys, the only ones that have no visible wear on my keyboard:)

My early retirement proposals were rejected. Unfortunately, the choice of bin colour is up to the council, so I was unable to budge on this point:p
