Slotster vs Simmo! - The Progressive Challenge!

Ok, I am known as a devil's advocate :icon_twis for the simple reason of always poking a fork in it to see if its done....so here goes, and be gentle with me please...

I love the idea and concept of this "challenge" but it seems to me that these two "progressives" are eating people alive.:axeman:

Why not do the ones that seem to be hit fairly regularly as stated in some of the posts instead of these two that are so hard to hit and have awful returns?

I, for one truly dislike the tunzamunni exept for an occasional spin or two and the same goes for fruit fiesta because its like dumping money down a dark hole and there is no light to be seen ever.

I usually play Major Millions or Cash Splash for any kind of decent return. I have hit some really nice hits on these two and the fun was there and getting some money back to boot!

I know the cycle of rotating the progressives was mentioned, but these two (tunzamunni and fruit fiesta) should be off the list till they are close to being somewhat ripe to hit IMHO.

Good Luck to all who's playing...!:D

Fair points :) We started with these for several reasons:

a) cos they give low-rollers a chance to have a real-bash too
b) cos even tho they've both been "hit" recently, they are still above average payout and the best two MG slots for % return at the start of the comp. Also this started with me and Slotster challenging each other on FF and Tunza cos they were up on mega-bucks!
c) gives us all a chance to dip our toes in and see how it goes without spending a ton of cash :)

For the next comp, starting early Nov, me and Slotster will pick two more slots, one a low-roller slot and one a more exciting slot - maybe Cashalot or Major Millions. FF & Tunza two do get boring after a while it must be said ;) I've been playing a load of them to test them out this last week or two.

Also, i wanted to keep it as two slots with similar-ish denominations at the mo, while i work out how Jackpot splits get done when you have a $3 slot and say a $0.50 slot. Needs some maths and there's no point in complicating things early on - plenty of time for that :D

We'll vary it from comp to comp with a new comp starting every month. Might even have 3 slots in there. We'll see how it goes, but til the end of Oct, its for everyone to try and give feedback - like yours silcn - thanks :)

Cheers

If the choice is Treasure Nile, then you and Slotster may be playing alone. I'm sure you can count KK out on that one. ;)
You're dead right on that one!
I have just one prime directive each month - do not make a loss.
I'm already struggling this month (which looks like it could be my first loser in a year :( ), not helped by investing $100 in this Slotmeister tourney.
So c'mon - somebody PLEAZZZE hit a jackpot & help me out! ;)

Thought you won $300 on Fruit Fiesta KK ?

I just know fruit fiesta is going to hit in the next couple hours
but it's midnight and i've spent my october gambling money already.
Have to wait until tomorrow for more comps to kick in.
Somebody win that sucker!

Ok everyone. 3 more days to get those winning screenshots in for the $250 prizes. Over the wekeend i'll be putting together Novembers competition with a more exciting range of slots (3 in all) and also a Chart to show positions, winners etc.

I am going to do a bit of maths to make a league table for Novembers comp and work out a formula whereby some spins from the previous comp count towards the second comp. Any feedback or lessons learned from this inaugral one - drop them in here.

I'll reveal all for Tuesday hopefully. Meanwhile...get those final shots in.

Cheers

My efforts were all 'fruitless' :)

I got a lot of small hits on Tunza and FF, but nothing of size over a lot of spins. Worst I have ever had on slots - maybe that's why I don't play those 2? Oh well. Auto mode just looked to me like a glass full of water with a leak in the base.

Am I having a blond moment or did I not understand how the two $250 prizes are won? I thought it was random not based on a winning screenshot. The best I have had is $30 for 4 scatteres on FF. But I did not take a screenshot of it. Do I have to submit something...anything to be eligble for the prizes or does the best two shots win? Help...very confused.

well guys I am OUT and I'm out of money. Other than 4 scatters on FF this is my best hit for the month. I will be out of the competition in November as my daughter is getting married. Oh how I was hoping one of us would hit the progressive....that would have really changed things. The wedding is in Vegas November 22nd.

Hi guys

I've had a bit of a disaster today - got back to find my Bootable Hard Drive has given up the ghost so i'm on my backup PC. Means all the code and spreadsheets for the comp are inaccessible so there will be a delay in starting the November comp/compiling October stats. Dont worry - all the entries are lodged at 32Red so no-one will miss out - but I have a day or two of troubleshooting ahead of me :(

Ouch good luck , and believe me - for once , Im not jealous.

Well here ends the first attempt - bit of a damp squib really. :(

The real winners in the end are 32Red - they must have taken $1,000's more via these progressives than they otherwise would have. So well done to them for having the vision to support this fun venture
Shame more casino's can't be a bit more imaginative with these sort of things.

They had $254 of my hard earned profit off me - 2,000 spins of Tunzamunni cost me $75, but I only managed 1,000 spins on Fruit Fiesta before I had to quit after losing a ludicrous $179!
The best win I managed was a pathetic $30 for 4 scatters (below) - what a money eater!

I think you can count me out of the next comp - unless the number of spins required is considerably fewer. :(

Hi Everyone

OCTOBER COMP IS NOW CLOSED.

I'll get stats together and details of the November comp this week.

As this was the first one and a bit of a test one, I'd be grateful for any ideas on the November one - games, anthing...leave your ideas below. I think we're all decided that we could use slots that are a tad more exciting to give some variation eh ;) So i'll go for 3 this month. Low-rollers...which slot suits you? High rollers...same Q?

I'll start a new thread for the November comp.

Simmo,
Although it was fun while it lasted, as I said above, there is no way I can afford to be throwing away $250 of hard-earned profit on this venture every month. :(

I don't know much about the other progressives, but from a low-rollers point of view I wont be risking too much $ to be taking part in future events, so for me the slot needs to pay out considerably better than Fruit Fiesta, or the number of qualifying spins needs to be much lower (say 500?). Tunzamunni was OK-ish.

The only other progressive I have tried is King Cashalot which I like a lot - but I couldn't stretch to max coins as a bad run would murder my bankroll. :(

My FF five scatters is the best I can offer up! Got nothing out of Tunza!!

I reckon King Cashalot is a good bet for this month... Although I know those dragons will drive me mental!!!

Incidentally, how DARE microgaming do an RTG on us, and do that reel speed up thing when you hit two features on Wasabi San.. It's so annoying when the third doesn't land. Doesn't stop me playing it mind

Which Games?

According to Slotcharts.com, the hottest MG progressives are Fruit Fiesta, Tunzamunni and WowPot, and they're not very hot either...but they are affordable, and are won quite often, so good choices I think.

Suggestion

Maybe you could make sure the games you choose are available via the flash casino? It limits your choices, but I know I'm not the only person who posts here that can't play on downloaded casinos.

I enjoyed this thread a lot this month. Great idea.

Love Wowpot and King Cashalot, those would be two good choices. And I know I said I can't play but since I'll be back from Vegas late in the month...who knows. I may win enough there to go crazy the last week of the month in the contest.
