Slotster vs Simmo! - The Progressive Challenge!

Simmo! said:
I've just finished writing it all up - getting 32Red to give it the once over and then i'll get it going - hopefully later today :)
What's the latest on your competition?

The above was several days ago - but no confirmation that's it's going ahead...

Looks like someone won tunzamunni early morning my time (1 am)
Here's hoping it was one of us!

Yeah it had gone by the time i got to my PC :(

KK: I haven't had the nod from Ed & Pat just yet. Hoping Monday. The webpage is up and ready to go :)

Anyway...another ok hit on Major Millions - fast turning into my fave Progressive:

Hi everyone,

OK I have the OK from everyone to go ahead with this the way I want. Ed & Pat at 32Red, Microgaming and the Meister et al :) Thanks guys.

I have written it all up here: Link Removed ( Old/Invalid)

If you are interested in joining me and Slotster, have a read (especially the rules page!). Note that for the time being, regular Meister posters only while we find our feet on this one and make sure it's all working fairly.

If it all goes well and proves fun and popular, I have the OK to do a new one every month. Me and Slotster will pick the targets ;) For now its Fruit Fiesta (still above average) and Tunza (also still above average despite the big win!)

Cheers,

Simmo!

2,000 spins! Eeeek!
Might be a bit steep for me - but we'll see.... ;)

The rules seem to suggest there might be a time period after the jackpot is hit when spins still count towards the challenge. Is this correct? And if so, how long is that time period?

Hi KK

Dont worry - you'll do 2,000 spins on Tunza for a $100 without too much hassle normally. It runs about 10x wagering from what i make out so $100 = 400 spins @ 10x = 4,000 - you'll probably prove me wrong now ;)

I think once a Jackpot screenshot is posted for all to see, thats the cutoff give or take an hour maybe just so people close to another 2,000 spins have a few minutes to push the threshold, but don't have long enough to abuse it :)

Incidentally you'll notice its all a little-biased in favour of low-rollers. FF and Tunza aren't miles apart in denomination so i din't get too fancy on spins per slot. In future, if i pick something like Tunza and Major Millions where there is quite a difference, i may adjust the spins required a bit to balance it. We'll see. My take at the mo (I'm playing FF) is that I'm happy to go for a higher Jackpot and those playing Tunza can benefit just as much as me even though i'm playing 75p rather than 25p. Its my choice after all - i just prefer that slot to Tunza :)

Oh yes: Note to all: This Challenge is generally about playing for enjoyment rather than for money. Sure, it'll be nice to share in a Jackpot or win some $$, but the primary motivation here is for fun, community and kudos! Please bear that in mind ;)

Doubt I count as a regular yet but have applied to join in anyway

I see a small problem that is not explained in the rules or at least I didnt see it

Everything is in USD what about those that play in GBP or that strange new european money is there some sort of equation in place to even things up

Good point. I'll give it some thought...Slotster had mentioned this and we decided not to bother initially but it makes sense to do equivalent currency conversions. I'll come back on that....

Damn this was close to the 2nd highest pay :( But on the plus side, its 10c better than 4 scatters in the $250 comp ;)
Damn! I peaked too early with my 5 scatters then! :(
Mind you - that wasn't at 32Red either... :( :(

I know it's for fun - but people will try to get extra spins in after the pot is hit if it's allowed in the rules. I know I will! :D
It's human nature (especially gambling humans!). I think you will be forced to say no spins count from the moment the jackpot winning screenshot is posted. That would be 100% fair on everyone.

I can't see how the currency thing comes into it - the best screenie will be that which wins the most credits - it doesn't matter what those credits are worth. (eg. 5 scatters = the same credit win whether in $ or )
The only (small) problem will be sharing out the 30% which will have to be converted into the currency of each player's 32Red account. Not a big issue - probably best for you to set the exchange rate at the beginning of each month - or just let 32Red decide based on their rates.
[edit]: Just realised Vambo might mean players using are risking more dosh in 2,000 spins than those in $. May have to apply an exchange rate to the number of spins too! :eek2:

Hi Everyone,

I know I don't have a high post count and thus not really a "regular",but I do lurk just about every day.

Thanks to Simmo for allowing me in!

I usually play the bonus feature slots,BJ,and VP,but now I will dedicate most of my play to the challenge.

P.S. I have a nice Spring Break screenshot I'll post in the winner screenshots thread when I find some more time. $45/spin..bonus round..hit something nice.

In October's challenge so far:

Slotster
Simmo!
Gramma
Vambo
Kelvinlym
w2album
n1stunnor

All names added to the "News & Hints" tab on the website for each comp. If you're on it, you're in it :)

$100 might not be much to you - but it's a lot to a low-roller like me!
(I only get a $32 monthly bonus to help me, not $132 like you!)

Anyway, did some practice at another casino & managed 525 spins and gained $19 thanks to hitting three mixed colour 7's three times (in the wrong order, of course:( ), so maybe it not as bad as I feared - so I've signed up!

Too slow to catch the first 2 which were 3 different colours, but caught the 3rd one...

I absolutely adore your idea, its kinda like people here in the UK making a syndicate for playing the national lottery, except you're doing it with slots :)

Once I get a steady job I'll jump on the bandwagon, but thats not going to be until i finish my doctorate at any rate ;)

Is it correct that you cant play progressives on the new player signup bonus?
Paul, Are you really too lazy to go to their web-page & check??? :what:

Claim our 100% ‘Slots Only’ Bonus, up to £100 FREE!
Qualifying Games Include:
All slot and fruit machines (except progressive slots). Keno and scratchcards also qualify.

No you can't play progressives with the SUB - but you can with the monthly bonus (At least, in $US you can).

Very sensible Spathix

compition

Wow...sound like fun Simmo, and slotster....I was following your comp. before you made it "offical"

Maybe I can get in on it the next one....micro's been cold as heck for me lately!!!

Good Luck everyone!!!!!

 Good one!

I hit one of those too, but I missed it because I set autoplay to only stop at wins higher than 100.

Arghh!!!

Am I in the running, although no screenshots were posted? If not it's ok. Rules are rules. What if I post the Playcheck after it's updated?

I'll try again soon.

What aggravates me is - i was GOING to play some more this morning - the JP was at 70K something - I opened 32 RED - and blast it - no instacash on the neteller - I always forget about that.
i HATE that - it is one of those things that just puts me off.
So I was too lazy to go to neteller or firepay and make a transaction and then come back so I wasn't playing when it hit.
That'll teach me huh

I'll be glad when I quality to get some bonuses at 32RED too. It sucks being a new player :)

kelvinlym,

I did the same exact thing! I have hit that one 3 times apparently because I set a $25 limit and that is a $20 hit! Crap!

Any answer to the Playcheck?

kw

Hey kw,

Good to see you over at the Meister board at last :) Took you a while eh! Hope you're well - keep hitting them!

Regarding Playcheck, i don't see why not if you miss a biggie - tho a screenie is preferred. The winning shots will get verified by 32Red at the end of the month anyhow

Me too! That was actually the FOURTH one I hit & only just managed to catch it.
Done my 2000 spins & lost $70 - that's enough for me! :(

Also missed screenshot of 4 scatters on Fruit Fiesta cos set for $50+ wins & that is only $30. :(
Only did 300 spins there though - losing too much....

1636 spins down and down about $140! OUCH! Only playing FF. Had 8 4 scatters and that is what saved me. I knew I was going to get the 5th one and that would have really set me up. Okay just checking in to give my eyes some new scenery. Back to work.

Thanks to Simmo for letting me take part in this ;) .
I started this morning, after 400 spins on tunzamunni I was down $50. Went to fruit fiesta - 800 spins and down another $100 :( . Another 800 odd spins to go, hoping my luck will change when the progressives are working again...
In my 400 spins at tunzamunni my highest win was $3.75. In 800 spins at fruit fiesta it was $10.25. Shame a prize isn't offered for a number of spins with crappest wins

Hey guys

Its a Microgaming problem on the servers - should be abck in an hour or so apparently  Too late for me though - Thunderstruck just ate all my money - lol. Ah well, there's always tomorrow!

EDIT: Its back! (Thanks Lee - my outgoing email is bust!)

I have been playing Tunzamunni a bit (probably about 4000 spins or so) and all I keep getting are the 'Any 7's'. I'm somewhat getting sick of them, but then again I'd be flat-azz broke without 'em. :)

Never had so many spins with so little reward! Is the payout percentage at 50% now? :D
