Has anyone had any bonus offers at Unibet since BONUSMAGEDDON?

What the hell? That's even worse than the dreaded notarized documents.

Soon casinos will ask for fingerprints and nude pics of our wives.

lmfao, Somewhere right now, I can envision reps (cough, no names) going 'hmm, could we get away with that?' :D

Lol - I have no wife so may have to ask to borrow nude pics of yours !!

On a serious note why on earth would a casino ask for a tax return??- I would really like the rep to comment on that. Totally bizarre and unjustified. Perhaps I could do a deal if they complete my tax return and do all the leg work - they can view it !

I got same problem, Unibet, locked my account for verifying (a year ago), and i sent them , passport scan, a bill, and neteller screen shot, but they again asked for my tax return form, they have no business in my tax return IMO and never going to get that. FYI when every other casino out there have accepted my documents i dont see why unibet want to dig in my tax return, make no sense.

Tax affairs are a private matter. NO business (other than your employer) should be asking for your tax return details.

from unibet email: 1. A copy of your ID (your government–issued ID card, passport, full driver’s license). Please note: provisional driving licenses are not accepted

Why not?

The ONLY difference between the two is a qualification to drive unaccompanied, both are equal when it comes to verifying ID. It shuts the door on players who apply for a drivers license in order to have a photo ID, rather than intending to drive.

Casinos are going to suffer in the long run because there are potential customers who can never play. One MAJOR group being excluded by this policy is pensioners. They have much more spare time, and often more spare MONEY if they have been careful and have a decent pension. What they often give up at a "certain age" is their driving license, often they feel ill equipped to cope on the crowded roads of today, or it is taken off them because they are deemed unfit through age related conditions to carry on driving. They often have to give up foreign travel because many insurance companies deem anyone over 70 "too old to travel", so will either not insure them at all, or the premiums are so high that they are deterred.

Perhaps casinos currently feel that they have enough customers from other groups, so don't need to make arrangements to service these potentially excluded groups. Eventually, they will see it as a problem, and this will be as the industry matures and "runs out of new customers", much like the mobile phone and internet industry, who now target the existing customers of their competitors rather than a pool of customers who have never had a mobile phone or an internet connection.

Even the politicians are wary of the power of the "grey vote", and we now see pensioners getting better deals from government whereas in the past it was seen as less important to gain the "grey vote".

As for Unibet, it seems they have created an expectation among players, but failed to deliver. They have switched off the old perks but not brought the new ones online, creating a long vacuum which is neither the old nor the new. As this is clearly not an "improvement", the longer it takes to bring on the new, the more customers will lose interest and start to look elsewhere.

For ID issues, having got a passport, it is probably worth renewing it every 10 years even if there is no intention to travel. I always send my drivers license, but I have a passport from 2006 when I went abroad twice (at the expense of casinos, a prize and VIP invite). I intend to renew it in 2016 even if I don't have plans to go abroad. It gives me a back up ID as well as the means to accept a prize or invite involving foreign travel at short notice.

I know the government are concerned about allowing "unauthorised persons" making copies of our passports, but in the online world, this is the only way to "show" our passport as proof of ID. In the real world, we can "show" it, but should not let a copy be made. We should not hand it over as a "deposit" or "surety" either, something that came out of a number of "incidents" in popular holiday destinations where bent hotel staff and "beach craft hire" companies misused passports to make it easier for organised crime to generate fakes and clones.

If the government don't trust a Spanish hotel, I can't see them trusting an online casino to have a JPEG of our passports emailed to them, yet so far this has not been something the government have issued a statement about:confused:

It makes me think the politicians have absolutely no idea of how this industry verifies it's customers, maybe assuming that it is all OK because they are mostly based within the EU (but so is the Spanish hotel industry).

Just a kudos to Dave; he got back to me letting me know my docs and ID were accepted and I'm good for WDs...apparently it more an issue of the CSR not recognizing the ID (he called it my donor card lol) and speaking out of school as it were. It was approved and all's fine on the home front.

Note to newbies: another reason to pm the rep..CRS are just front line and dont always have the right answers and why the forum has reps

Front line CSR should NOT be dealing with such matters in any case, they are not sufficiently skilled. What if they failed to spot an obvious fake ID through wrongly recognising it as valid, and the operator suffered losses.

They should pass it on to the cashiers or security team, who should be skilled enough to tell the difference between a donor card and a proper ID.

They should not RELY on a forum rep to do basic CS for customers because their front line team have screwed up.

Slightly off topic from the title of the thread but about the security checks for withdrawals mentioned.

I had an account with Unibet up until last month.I never withdrew there over many deposits and in the end I kinda spat the dummy and self excluded myself for 6 month.Regret it ,just a rush of blood at the time.

Two weeks ago I decided to join Maria Casino after seeing them advertised and I wanted some WMS slots to play.I registered without problem, deposited twice a total of £80 and was playing for half an hour when suddenly my account locked mid spin.I contacted support (10 days ago) and they told my that Maria are run my Unibet and because I excluded there in turn I have excluded at Maria.

That was fair enough, that's my fault I should have been more aware.I asked what happens with the £80 I had deposited or the £70 balance and when it will be returned. They sent me an email on the following Monday asking for me to send the documents copy of i.d,bank statement with my account number and sort code visible and a copy of my debit card front and back.

I thought this was a bit extreme asking for all this, usually in the case of self exclusion the money should be returned to the method it was deposited and that was a debit card.I queried why they needed my bank details but its there policy to return it to a bank account, never gave a reason why.

So I sent all the documents driving licence, front and back of debit card and print of bank statement. That was last Tuesday and today I received an email that my driving license had to be resent as it was cropped ,I looked at it and its about 1mm round the edge missing due to the scanner but all the information is visible.

Why do these things have to take so long and have to be so anal.I'm only getting my own money returned at the end of the day and will be lucky to see it this week.

It's a case of guilty until proven innocent.

This is a problem with scanners, they don't scan anything outside of the area of the document, and sometimes this results in a slight cropping. A digital camera would not have this problem, and some surrounding background can be retained when preparing the image for sending.

If you have it, try the "preview" option to see what the scanner thinks should be included. It should allow manual adjustment of the boundary if the scanner tries to crop a mm or two off the document. I had this problem on my scanner, but I was able to expand the boundary under "preview" to fix the cropping issue. It seems the problem is more likely when the document is printed on a white(ish) background, the same colour of the scanner lid that holds the document in place. This would be the case for most paper documents, and some ID cards.

Thanks. I will have a play about with the scanner to see if the settings have changed but I never had this problem until I updated the driving license card weirdly, maybe thats just a coincidence.

I solved it earlier by putting a dark piece of paper over the license and it looks fine now.Hopefully it gets accepted.

Another weekend sails by without so much as a sniff of a bonus offer from Unibet, that's four weekends and nearly one full month since the SUPER NEW LOOK BONUS STRUCTURE went live.

Has anyone else had one single offer?

No bonus (other than the welcome bonus that was manually credited by the rep here, thanks).

I received this curious email from them a couple of days ago, try not to laugh:

Title: You're missing out!

It's a bit funny isn't it? It sounds like my account was loaded with tons of different bonuses but since I wasn't receiving the newsletter, I couldn't know. There was nothing available in my account when I logged in, of course. I wish the rep here would explain exactly what's going on and how much longer it will take to fix it.

The problem I have with the whole thing is they've deliberately set player expectations and then expressly failed to meet them.

I've no issue whatsoever with a casino not offering me bonuses, that's entirely at their discretion. (Although it's easy enough to make them EV- so that they don't represent giving money away.) What narks me is they trumpeted the new bonus structure to me via both email and messages at the site, and yet four weekends down the line I haven't been offered one single penny's worth of a bonus.

I'd much rather they simply hadn't bothered with the whole thing, or at least targeted it at players they were actually going to offer bonuses to (assuming anyone has been offered a bonus.....).

Hi Balthazar,

normally, this kind of mails is being sent if you did not opt in to receive any of our offers. Its merely an informative mail and it doesn`t specify at all that you personally would have received all of those offers. Its actually a very general note.
So before I start digging into this, can you tell me if you actually did change your settings after you received this mail ?

Kind regards,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Is there anything to come bonus wise for the rest of us? We all seem to have got the marketing messages, but from the feedback in this thread it would appear that not one single person has received one single bonus offer!

Thanks :)

Hi Dave,

Yes, I changed my settings so now I receive your newsletter (although I don't think I'd have missed the bonuses). The problem isn't the newsletter though, it's the fact that there's no bonus available for anyone.

spotted that in casino red there is an active rewards section, not sure how long its been there,
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.
nothing too amazing at lower levels but free spins, and the ability to convert points to cash, better than nothing though :)

I can't find this on unibet.com, maybe it's only working on the co.uk page?

Can Unibet Rep clarify this?

I have asked support many times about this because I am a player at Unibet since 2001 and I can't even guess how much Money I've spend there.:eek2:

this is what i can see from my link for those who cant :)

Hi,

yes, for the time being, this is only for UK customers but it is obviously our intention to roll this out for all markets. As with all new things though, we like to run it on just one or 2 countries first to see how it goes and once we sorted out the little things which can`t always be tested, other countries will follow.

Hi all,

too many questions to answer everyone with a quote so I ll try to summarise a bit in here :

Canadian players, no you are not worth less than UK or any other players for that matter and you should also benefit from new and existing bonus offers. As is becoming very clear from this topic however, we have done a few changes in the way we reward our customers and the latest change has gone live today for UK customers only (for the time being). As with so many new things, some changes are good, others not so good and some issues still need to be worked upon.
Unfortunately, it seems (and I am still trying to get to the fine details of this) it is possible that Canadian players are not getting their sign up bonus. Should anyone experience any issues with this, do not hesitate to PM us on this forum. As some of you can confirm, we do hand out bonuses if something went wrong in the signing up stages.
As to future bonuses, this is so marketing specific that it is impossible to give a straight forward reply on this one. Yes, some of you will get bonuses and others don`t. Marketing guys always set out certain criteria to hand out bonuses and sometimes its your turn to get a bonus and the next time its someone else.
Having said that, when you launch a new tool, there always has to be a transition period so the bonuses from one tool need to fase out and the new ones can get activated. So it is possible that some of you have received less bonuses than what you were used to but that should change again.

As to changing settings, this does make all the difference. If during sign up, you opt out of receiving e mails, you will also not receive any offers. So Balthazar, from now one, you should be fine.

If there is anything else I missed, please let me know and I ll try and answer you.

But thanks all for your comments. It does help to improve our offers and rest assured that Canadians are not being forgotten :)
