My problem is not to do with interacting with the members or the admins - that's fine.
It's related to posting criticism about casinos.

Let's get down to brass tacks:

I had a conversation with a very old member and he said I 'might' get banned for criticising popular casinos.
He was referring to my post here: https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/32red-club-rouge-for-life.64341/
Is that true?

With Tropica Casino's BBF I was suspicious that the rep couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time.
See: https://www.casinomeister.com/forums/threads/tropica-casino-rival-casino-cancelled-bbf.64059/
I backed up what I said and got chewed out for it by members AND Casinomeister said my comment was unnecessary.
I said: "There is a tone of defensiveness in some of the reps posts which shows a lack of confidence."

To my mind that was an albeit small but valid criticism. It was appropriate (necessary) since the BBF asks for criticism and if you read/
between/the/lines there was BIG evidence there that he was defensive.
With this one, I'm still not too sure where I went wrong.

I think your first mistake is reading the koran

But seriously, who cares if members disagree with the players and stick up for a casino? Is it going to effect your day? Last time I checked everyone is allowed to have an opinion. If you dont like their opinion, thats fine just carry on. There is so much more to life then getting bothered by this.

May Jesus bless your soul and guide you in the light

IMO the "very old member" might have been having a senior's moment. The only time criticism is a problem is if it violates the Posting Rules, particularly items 1.1, 1.6, 1.11, 1.14, 1.17, 1.18 and 1.20. In other words if your criticism is civil, moderately well-reasoned and not an unrelenting crusade then chances are you'll be thanked for your contribution.

You seem to be asking if you were in danger of being banned for a particular post. Were you banned? Did you receive an Infraction? Did Bryan or a moderator say anything at all that might have been perceived as a threat against your continued membership here? If the answer to those questions is "no" then I think you have your answer: party on! :D

If I were to stymie criticisms, then we wouldn't have much of a forum. Posting criticisms is encouraged - I appreciate them, and the membership does as well. As long as the critiques don't slip into trollish or flaming posts, then it's cool.

I think that the comment you made, and why I said it was uncool, was because you were criticizing the casino rep's intelligence. You could have worded it another way and all would have been ok.

But this was over a year ago. Why bring this up now?

i do. a community should do care. criticism helps me to choose better the places i play to not fall into the problems that lead to criticism. to post genuinely criticism expectations are that players will take your side and push the casino in a friendly manner to solve what caused the criticism.
betfair, slotobank & alike cases enlightened potential customers to stay away. however, considerable action is only when financial issues are the subject everyone thinking at their own wallet. also, mass criticizing the casino on the forum but in particular keep playing is useless, proved in 32red threads when backward steps were taken and threads were dozens pages long of moans. if the 'CM syndicate' that shouted then would have stopped depositing the bad changes would have naturally reverted after considerable drop in activity and incomings. so yeah, sticking up for the casino blindly or from fanboyism, ignoring important criticism, here i am hoping that will happen to you too.

also, my religion is better than yours always lead to great things. if you take in consideration pure unadulterated christian dogma(not the changed BS to suits every modern need and sin but still worship the unseen), then the light should be long far from here.

He seemed quite confident.

btw Max, I feel like I'm breaking half the rules on that page. Probably just my emotions?

I would describe it as a growing paranoia.

Anyway, I want the admins to know that if they take issue with my posts don't be afraid of correcting me.
I think I can take one on the nose. :poke:

Confident he may have been but he's also quite wrong. There are countless examples of people's critical comments of Accredited and non-Accredited casinos on the site, no problem. As long as the discussion is civil, respectful of others, not an invasive crusade and in accordance with the forums posting rules there should be no problem. If your old-timer has proof to the contrary let him show it. It's easy to make such accusations, rather more difficult to prove them.

Where specifically? As I said, we didn't have a (serious) problem with it then and we obviously don't have any more of a problem with it now. So ... no problem. :)

From my POV the thing that Bryan pointed out in that old thread was that your comment about the rep being "not able to walk and chew gum" is insulting, you're questioning the guy's basic intelligence. That's not really appropriate, just as it wouldn't be if someone questioned your intelligence, or mine. One's intelligence isn't measurable here on the forums and it wouldn't be relevant even if it was so the question of one's IQ is not a fair or worthwhile topic of discussion. If they're more or less able and willing to do the job they've been given then that's pretty much all anyone (here) can reasonably ask of them.

Relax man, things are a lot more casual around here than you and the old-timer seem to think.

I think the "Ask the Meister" is a great area.
You can kind of come here and get your "head checked" by CM. :D

It helps resolve issues before they become bigger.

"Clearing the air" is the phrase.
