Connect To Casino....Do Not Play

Caruso, you are right on the mark with this one. :thumbsup: Bethug, you are doing a bit of what you are accusing the casino of doing. You led us to believe that connectocasino STOLE $100 from your credit card. You didn't make it clear that this was $100 you deposited at destinationpoker that came thru on the bill as being from CTC. They didn't steal anything from you, you gambled it and lost, and they perhaps lied about their affiliation with CTC, seems like the jury is still out on that one.

I just looked up the whois information on the owners of these 2 domains, and they are totally different. Their name servers are totally different as well. Their IP addresses (ping connectocasino.com and ping destinationpoker.com) are different. The two IP addresses are, however, hosted by the same company (Everyones Internet, Inc.) using the same subnet. But then again, so are over 8000 other IP addresses, so thats not conclusive either. That their email header says it comes from CTC isn't totally conclusive, since it could be one central email server that this internet company is using and the dns entry was the first done and therefore comes back as CTC.

They may have lied about their affiliations, but they did not steal anything from you. You need to supply all of the relevant facts when you accuse someplace of being thieves.

Connect2 casino denies any thing to do with destination poker and that is who is on my statement right now. Since u have nothing to do with destination poker , why are they on my statement. and if you calle the 1800 number it connects to connecto casino and not destination poker, but the same person will pic up. I have no reason to mis lead any one. I was mislead to think that destination poker had nothing to do with connect to casino.

We sought clarification on this email header thing, and whilst Jeffrey Wallace did not answer that directly other than saying they have the same host he did give the additional tidbit of information that Connect To Casino "lent us a helping hand" at one time. This is, if memory serves me correctly a similar line to that taken by Cirrus when its relationship with Virtual was being questioned.

the gripe that you do have is that you asked them if they had any sister casinos. If they had answered yes, connectto, you would not have deposited.

They said no. So you deposited. You are chagrined about being lied to, since you would not have chosen to play there if they were sisters. I agree with that. You do have a right to know this. You did call them thieves, which they are not. They may be liars though, for all we know. In any case, I doubt they will give you $100. Even though in real life their lie may have been considered false advertising.

Ok, so maybe they are not sisters. I am still kind of suspecting that they may temporarily share a licence as well as some other stuff since Destination is so new.

Caruso, you make an excellent point also. It's the old thing about crying wolf - if you cry wolf too often when there is no wolf, then no one will pay attention to you when there really is one. It is wise to investigate thoroughly before going off.

Bryan, I am also aware of these type connections. I find them not limited to RTG though. I've stumbled across this elsewhere when there was trouble.

Marco - I thought you had already sent Caruso your italian version of things, and he read it and answered it. Persistence can be a virtue - but you also got to know when to fold'em. And it's time. If you keep running around the internet writing about connectto eventually no one will believe anything you say.

Well, with wol being down I haven't been back there. These threads are getting very convoluted. For every one note someone leaves, Marco leaves three or more. There are a number of threads going at the same time. It is getting to be difficult to keep track of any real issues. They may have totally slipped past me.

Who is not getting paid, Bethug? Do you have some facts to share?
 
Never mind Marco, there is no point in repeating myself - again.

It appears that Pokermike and ohdreampop got paid.

That leaves marco's complaints and bethugs complaints about non-disclosed pertnership between two casinos.
 
That WOL thread is so full of incorrect statements, outright supposition and general nonsense from all concerned it's really not worth commenting on.

I'm starting to rethink my position here. I'd had almost a year of trouble-free play, regular payments when I won (I've lost many times but am currently ahead) and accountable owners. Things now seem to be taking a turn for the worse.
 
Portofino is turning into quite the rogue, they simply refuse to pay legitimate winnings. They have repeatedly lied to both my and Bryan regarding my cashin, and I'm waiting for RTG to resolve this for me. Unfortunately for Portofino, I have screenshots of the logs to prove my case. They will be hard pressed to refute them without modifying the logs, which would gain them immediate rogue status I would hope!

I don't think I had a positive opinion about them, and the only one I ever played at was portofino. They were ok a couple of years ago, didn't give me any troubles when cashing in then, but they definitely SUCK now!
 
Is anybody currently getting ANY kind of a response from these people? They've totally dried up on me. Both Vince and John used to reply in timely fashion - I can't get anything from either of them now. At least in terms of my own experiences here this has suddenly taken a worrying turn for the worse. They seem to have all completely vanished.

John still reads the boards even though he's no longer posting - he initiated a PM exchange with the result that my issue, a slightly overdue cashout and lack of Email response, is now on the way to being settled.

Any other players with cashout concerns / questions would do worse than contacting him via PM here at Casinomeister. He can get things moving quickly.

I am going through a horrible experience with them as well. Portofino is a HORRIBLE SITE! I deposited my money and didn't even play yet when I decided that I wanted my money back and went through the annoying procedures they require for cashing out. After sending them a lot of information, license, copy of utility bill, they claimed some bullshit about an investigation into multiple accounts and this has been dragging on for almost 2 months. I've butted heads with Marco before, and personally disagree with his approach vis-a-vis C2C, but I DO have to give him props for at least TRYING to communicate on this board.

...and candidly, his grammar/spelling isn't much worse than some of the others I've seen here and other message boards... ;)

How many languages are you capable of reading, writing, and speaking? The reason I'm asking is that language is a damn hard thing to master - especially English.

English (and German) are the two languages used here in this forum - and about a third of the posters have other languages as their mother tongue besides English. And as for the lurkers, there are a damn lot coming from countries other that an English speaking one.

Sometimes I butcher the hell out of German, but I will still get my point across. If someone were to rag on me to speak/write better German - all it would do is piss me off.

By being a greek beast I can assure you that we greeks have one of the most difficult languages to master :D or at least that's what I think.

nahh... English is by far the worst because despite its rules and conventions, there really ARE no rules and conventions - it reflects the potpourri from which it sprang (Old English, Latin, Greek, et al).

My father has an interesting anecdote on the vagaries of English. When he first came to the States, he asked for a burger at a fast food joint. Except he pronounced it "bur - jer", applying the rule that a "g" before an "e" is soft.

The clerk corrected him, telling him the correct pronounciation. Of course, my father then applied this logic and said -

"Oh.. excuse me, but I'm a 'strangur' in town." [pronouncing "stranger" with a hard "g"]

Toss in the idioms, grammar conventions/exceptions, and which preposition goes with which noun/adjective (note that Chinese and Japanese don't even HAVE prepositions), and it's a wonder that anyone can master the language at all.
