This might have been mentioned before but I wish CM had a chat room. Even if it was only live for certain times and could house different debates or discussions each week....

I used to be on a site that had a chat room for a few hours a day, maybe that could be a way forward if someone was to moderate it, difficulties with this site is it is worldwide so having a limited chat room would not work for everyone.

A lot of people would also miss a lot of information and interesting discussions since the pages would be filled up very soon.

You could always start your own group here (if Bryan have taken them back yet, not sure).

Inviting people to discussions through pm's is also possible.

I was thinking of a chat room for just an hour or two a day... Might be a rubbish but maybe people like me, or casino reps, or whoever, could do AMAs or something. Dunno.

Even if it was a private chat room that was invite only .. so for example I could say there's an AMA to available on Wednesday at 7pm UK time for two hours and then people could request access or be invited.

The standard threads on here also provide good SEO material which chat rooms wouldn't. Read Tirilej's post, it would dilute the quality of what remains.

Im gonna suggest opening a Casinomeister Discord -- its mostly used for gaming voice communication, however you can have multiple Chat Rooms, can have voice com channels etc.
Also offers different User Groups and all that jazz so people cant spam unless you unlocked them and all that -- and its free .
Theres a desktop program for it and you can also use it in your browser or via Mobile App.

Also, Voice quality is vastly superior to Skype.

Maybe @Casinomeister himself wants to set a Server up, otherwise someone in the Community or I could do it .

I mean, it's entirely up to Bryan and some seem to want it.
I still just foresee a million new members treating it as a shit-posting source, or, even the ones asking genuine questions, asking questions already addressed a zlillion times...add to that, we see enough threads that go back and forth pointlessly for untold pages, gods forbid a hot topic come up, then, whammo....shut down...and even if, IF some of us more expereinced members were to offer to moderate voluntarily, Bryan/maxd etc would have a whack of complaint pms.

I'd love to believe everyone could be adults, but I've seen enough large-scale rooms where everything just flies out the window. And I'm sure the staff have much better things to do than put out fires, beyond the scope of the ones they already deal with behind the scenes.

it truly is. I wonder if anyone even remembers (or knows) a way back chat called Alamack (we're going back here 25+ yrs) and my 1st experience moderating a chat room. A little bit of power, a little bit of lee-way, and inches becomes feet became leagues.
The room (obviously, due to virtue of being 18+) means, to a degree, adult content. Mild to one is offensive whereas to another is....well, pc. There really, is, simply no way to moderate, but the one big-guy who sets the standards built by his own moral compass/set of standards and noone (at this level/size) can oversee a chat 24/7 and maintain that standard. CM is simply now, too large, too well-known to be drawn into those sort of conflicts, whether we wish otherwise.

I'm probably not stating it well - but a few groups I belong to have reached that height (for members here, think, even, VS chat) that quality control becomes an impossibility.

Perhaps THAT is the avenue to take and approach Bryan with - specificity; a once monthly go-round, where say, yourself, or Bryan, or maxd, or dun, or whomever really, in turn could take/were willing to take on a topic for a 2-3 hr stint.

lol, as a member of far too many groups (never mind 'those threads' here) the debate aspect is the scariest....even for tv because of the 'unknown quantity.'
Spontaneity is good...but dangerous. There's no 3 second delay here and as everyone knows, interent is forever.
I DO get your point though.......a compromise? A controlled (read: moderated) setting. I''m liking your unscripted, but focused, chat idea.

I remember the days of old....I frequented quite a few of those and made many friends. I'd go through the list of nicks and look for a chicks name. Then I'd PM them... Hi, A/S/L please? (Age / Sex / Location)

Some would respond, others would just ignore you. If you got the response the the lady was willing to chat, you'd ask if they had a picture... and soon have one in your inbox. ... or she'd ask for one and once you send it, you got an instant response or never ever heard from her again.

I remember the MODS - 'You have been booted by Angelus (Reason: Don't Question Me)'

The problem is Goatwack will be PM'ing everyone asking for nude selfies.... or a Nigerian 419 scamster would be offering loans of up to $1 000 000 with 0,5% interest to buy features on BTG.

@trancemonkey - I think its a great Idea. Would be a nice little thing to have / like a shout-out box. Participation can be limited to senior members and above and the CAG could be appointed as mods to block / edit any spam or profanities.

It was quite civilized and intriguing chatting to a new person. I never even thought of asking for nude pics... never crossed my mind. You genuinely wanted to make friends and meet people or engage in dialogue.

I wonder though, on the longevity.
For example, we've come across reps who are very forthcoming (within the scope they can answer) and when they (reasonably) skirt past/skip over or even, gloss over, answers, some members go at it like a sore tooth, to the point where even the most patient, even-tempered reps will throw their hands up. Moderated may equal true moderation, of being a go-between.

I think nearly everyone would love the chance to directly address providers - trance was very nearly, the first true representative (in a field) to openly answer Qs

But again, it would require true moderation..even trance must admit, that as honest as hes been able to have been, its a non-stop rebuttal and near challenege to every point he addresses.

Maybe...a one hr Q and A..allow members to ask, and representatives to answer, be it full-on or quick and curt, or simply supply, a i dont know/cannot answer, and the moderator move along to the next Q..i really believe it would require an ask/answer format

Completely agree. Questions would have to be sorted through and Reps would have to be given a chance to read them at first just to sort out the 'cant comment on that matter' and 'would have to look into that' Answers -- that way they do have the Chance to look into that and Questions where the Answer cannot be disclosed can be skipped.

What would be cool:
Have a thread for Community Members to gather Questions. When enough Questions have been gathered have an 'AMA' with the provider, ideally via Skype/Hangout/some other solution. Now the best way would be to have it as some sort of live thing or to upload those to YouTube -- which would add some Content to the Casinomeister YouTube channel.

Dont make it a forced once-a-month thing or anything similar, just do them when enough Questions have been gathered as the CM Staff and Reps/Game Providers are rather busy i'd imagine.

Many years ago in the age of dial up internet, I heard tale of chat rooms being a good place to get 'sorted' as it were [not drugs but to meet the fairer sex ]

Realising every minute online was costing me 60p I hurriedly attempted to engage with one of these chat rooms, they seemed to be everywhere at the time, but the chat was incomprehensible, nicknames and northern slang all over the shop it might as well have been written in chinese and what with the sound of the modem, and the constant sounds of chimes and bells coming from the chat room it was enough to drive someone mad so I reluctantly gave up after 5 mins thinking I was missing out again on some hot tottie as you call it

Well and there lay the problem the chances of meeting a compleate and utter munter were very high which happend on a few occasions.

The way I seen it even the ugly ones needed some lovin which was aided by pints of vodka and red bull.

The one in the states was actually grand but it was only sex for both of us got me a trip couple times a year with free digs.

As for the dial up charges they were takin care of by the MOD
