Casino Action has listened to the feedback received from players and we are excited to announce that we have now removed the bonus account from all casinos within our group.

All bonuses will now be credited to player's REAL Accounts!

That's right, all bonuses are now being credited to REAL accounts!

The change applies to Golden Reef, Aztec Riches, Challenge, Music Hall, UK Casino Club as well as Phoenician and Nostalgia Casinos.

    Regards

    Casino Action.

Not quite as bad as it looks.

20x on slots is not quite so bad (I'm not saying it's good, should be 10x or 15x at most) now that the bonus can be wagered in the real account. Wagering on the tournament slot of the day can lead to an additional bonus, and of course comp points, the key to which is to become VIP - they are then worth nearly 2x the norm for slots.
WR on non-blackjack games is harsh though at 60x, although one can still autoplay Atlantic City on 50c a hand, so with patience this will still have a positive expectation.
More likely is the eventual exclusion of all Blackjack games rather than further increase in WR. (However Casino Action have had the uncanny ability to always make things worse when they tinker with the rules - until now that is:) )

About time too! Those 'bonus accounts' were a freaking nightmare.

    Well done for listening! :notworthy

I agree with Vinyl that x20 is a bit steep for what is almost slots-only - but still far more sensible than what you had before!

I'm probably alone in actually liking the idea of bonus accounts

Sure, making you 'double wager' the transferred money was stupid and even having to wager your deposit kind of makes them a bit pointless. A bonus should be that, a bonus. Not a yoke tied round your neck forcing you to wager more than you want.

I'd like to see a casino operate a bonus account system where there is no wagering requirement on the real account but as tough as they like in the bonus account. It then means that you can deposit with confidence, not being worried you're committing yourself to a bonus you don't particularly want and if you feel like it once you've played as much as you want in your real account, go and have a bit of fun in the bonus account. With a completely free bonus people could have a lot more fun and play games and strategies they never usually would (usually resulting in losing the bonus anyway) and it is a far better way for a casino to show their appreciation to customers. Obviously it could only be 10% bonuses or whatever and 'abuse' would have to be looked out for but I think it could work out fairly cheap for casinos to run and a lot more fun for the players

20X is awful. Slots wagering requirement shouldn't be no more than 5X. The only time I take a slot bonus if they allow playing on BJ without forfeiting your winnings. I then may make enough off BJ to cover my slot wagering. But just straight up playing slots to fulfil the requirement will eat you for lunch!

    It is in principle

In principle, bonus accounts are a good idea, but in practice they seem to get used to "stuff" the players. Captain Cooks had a model where you could actually keep ALL the bonus left after meeting the WR. Casino Action never had this, but started with 10x WR on slots, and 20x on other games. Winnings transferred could be kept without further wagering, and the bonus remained for another go, where you could play a 50+ BJ or roulette bet in the hope of squeezing out another transfer. Sadly, they began to make changes, each billed as an "improvement", but was actually implementation of worse terms. The 20x IS slots only (and keno/scratchcard), unless you know of an MG table game that is not either a "Poker" derived game, Blackjack, Craps, Sic Bo, Baccarat or Roulette. They do have very low coin sizes on the slots, even on the simple ones, such as 1c spins on Double Magic and 9c spins on 5 Reel Drive.
if the promise of a wagering tool for the real account is fulfilled, and WR do not get any worse, and bonuses do not reduce, this group may improve enough to attract new customers. They have some way to go though, as the norm is still 10x to 15x on slots bonuses, although 60x at BJ is now looking good compared with the rest. Spin Palace are now looking at 100x to 150x on BJ, but allow Vegas Strip in this. Jackpot Factory at 5x or 10x bonus only (except Craps Roulette and BJ) is still pretty much unequalled by the rivals, but this is for loyal players comp bonuses only, the sign up is nearer the norm.

They can keep their silly little bonuses at those requirements. I rather just deposit the extra $100 and play any game I like as long as I like. People should understand. You have to treat online gaming just like at a real casino. If Im gonna goto the real casino and gambling $500 at blackjack. I am going to the same at online. I don't won't any half steps. I try to either cashout in the $1000+ or BUST! I don't leave my money over night in my playing account. Im aiming at a target and if I hit it im GONE! If I lose im GONE! I just try again when I get the spare change up.

So glad to see they did this. I hated those accounts.

As for bonuses with weird requirements, I can't really decide. On the one hand, it's fun to have the extra money... but as Admiral Ackbar put it: "IT'S A TRAP!"

    Target Market

Online Casinos have been targeting markets that would not normally venture into a B&M casino. On the ones that run the live scoreboards it is interesting to note the large number of female participants. The opposite is likely to be the case in a B&M casino. Online casinos support this market with tournaments, bonuses etc in the same way that B&M casinos hand out free drinks, rooms, food etc. I expect many are afraid to break with tradition and go all out for the big players who want good software, no silly bonuses, and instant withdrawals at the end of the session rather than the normal wait of several days. True, if you are playing with 500 at Blackjack, a 15 Wheel of Cash bonus near the end is an insult if all you want to do is withdraw there and then while at /$1000+ in the bankroll.

If there are requirements to a "bonus" , then how is it a bonus? A bonus is given freely with no attachments..: They don't have anything there saying a bonus is with T&C's..its an EXTRA...

Just as B&M casinos send all the wonderful cmon's ...they have no wagering requirements attached to thier bonuses and "freebies"... every month I get a "special" from B&M casinos which are wonderful..silly to even think of these online bonuses as bonuses, but as lures ...they are entrapments of your monies...so you can't do as you please with your own funds...because now they have "caught" you ....and you have to follow THIER rules as how to play with YOUR own money...Definitely a bad deal all around..

Good grief...can you imagine getting a Christmas bonus from your boss and he says that the only way you can have this, is, if you work an extra 20 hours this week....and he says you have to agree because those are the T&C's of receiving this great xmas gift! Get real...

    re

I wish some other mg casinos would do that. I opened a new account at
either the phoenician or lake palace, cant remember which one.
I deposited 150 dollars, but it would not let me in my bonus account to get my match deposit. They told me must be my computer. Tried everything, and nothing worked, so I had to have them lock the bonus account.
Needless to say , I never went back there again. I dont usualy play with bonuses, but sometimes you get them, and I found it unfair that I would never be able to claim one. It was especially disapointing to not get my match deposit when I was expecting it.

Now we're just arguing semantics, or what you personally believe the definition of online casino bonuses should be.

It's free money! To borrow your analogy, do you really think that same boss is going to give you a Christmas bonus if all you do at work is sit and surf the Internet (unless that is actually your job ;) )? You've got to at least do the regularly required work to get the Christmas mad money.

Nothing in life is free ... same thing with a casino bonus. By all means, if you don't like the rules, don't accept the bonus.
