As affiliate, I can compare the performance of casinos based on wins by a group of players, rather than an individual.
Micros appear still pretty steady to me as far as wins paid out.
In Rivals, the 400 group casinos appear to consistently pay out enough wins to wipe out my comissions and they are popular. Also very popular is Slotocash.
There are a lot of newer rivals and I don't have enough of a player base there yet to pass judgement. It takes several months to get enough of a sample. Also, sometimes a casino can be perfectly fine but I never get enough players there to draw any conclusions, maybe because of the look and feel of it that people don't like, or a stupid name or something unrelated to actual performance. So, while I take these statistics in consideration when choosing casinos to list, they are to be taken with a grain of salt.
Why do I choose casinos that pay out more wins and less comissions? Nothing selfless about it, happy and wealthy players play more. In the end, the more you win the more money you have to spend and it all balances out with everyone being happy in the end.
These observations are merely on wins paid out, no breakdown as to whether it is one huge winner or many smaller winners. They also do not include important things like customer support and payout speed. However, popularity is somewhat of an indicator of how well players are treated.
All of that said, as player I have seen the trend too, that higher bets will cause less hits. There is just no telling if it's coincidence or not. There are times when high bets still hit big wins...no matter where I play, it all still seems streaky. Same thing in Land casinos, too. Some days I just can't seem to hit a thing, and some days I am gold and can do no wrong.
Breakdabank is high variance - I like high variance too, the wins can be phenomenal - but far and between. When your bankroll gets lower, move to a low variance slot. I only play high variance when I am still flush...
