A game can be perfectly fair but still lead to the player inevitably losing in the long run. I don't play slots because I expect to make a profit at it, I play slots because I find them entertaining and I enjoy hitting big wins and features, even if they are part of a wider downward trajectory over time.

A roulette wheel will make a casino money, but it can still be completely fair.

I haven’t read anything here about anyone expecting to get rich playing slots. The OP raised that his more recent losses were in excess of his previous losses, and that his game time has reduced considerably. That’s it.

Yes, spot on, no grey areas spot on.

However the problem for me and in this case the OP is the WAY they make this money

Slowly drip feed your balance down and give some enjoyment and value for deposit, maybe the odd winning session, hoping the player will return is the casino scene of yesteryear

the truth is what actually happens is the games/slots that are designed to take your money and they do just that, they award a new player much more until they build a profile of your gameplay,(you join a new casino and its great at first) a player then starts loses huge amounts so thinks "this site or game owes me, i cant lose" well the truth is all the software going on in the background picks up on your agressive play and shafts you even more, the game stabilses its rtp% by handing out multiple small wins to infrequent players to get them on board to go large, STOP THINKING YOU CAN WIN, you can not beat these games no matter what you think, regular players can ONLY lose, the RTP% is impossible to prove over different countries as the information available to any single body is NOT available, yes they are lower than ever returns and plans are to in future will be lower again, the RTP% is not a gauranteed and only what the game may acheive over its lifetime all over world, impossible to prove

truth pal is there is no single source and never will be, my friend is an animations programmer for a company that provides services for these games, basically he makes the things look cool (graphics) he knows alot of people, take it how you want but he is a very straight guy and I beleive him, you do not have to beleive what i am saying but if you do become rich playing slots then you have managed to beat the brainpower of thousands of boffins combined, good luck either way pal

And again pal, no one in this thread has even insinuated that they expect to get rich playing slots. People just want value for money (i.e. a decent play time for their deposits).

And finally pal, how to you correlate “the brainpower of thousands of boffins” with a game of luck? I could be many times more intelligent than slot developers but it ain’t going to help me land the random number I need to win.

ok matey i get what your saying, i agree with the value for money but you will only get this on a new signup whilst a new site builds up your gameplay profile,(the first 24hrs is the greatest chance of winning) then its a journey downhill, the rate of the slope depends on your play, if you play infrequent the slope will be less dramatic, longer periods of no play may give you some joy/hope, if you play alot and especially if you go aggressive, then get ready for a vertical drop, the software thrives on a tilted player

lol, you can not beat the casino, but you get a better experience and a higher chance of a win in first 24hrs, you can win anytime obviously but you have a better chance before the profile builds, hopefully some see sense, but come on why is almost every post on here negative or a complaint in some form

Must agree to a point, I think "back in the day" I had way too much "beginners luck" at the multitude of casinos I joined.

Several years later and only using one mostly, very occasionally two casinos its awful, way too awful to be down to simple "unlucky"

Almost feels compensated, pity I wasn't a regular fruit machine player back in the day to know what compensated feels like

I'm possibly just having a wild stab in the dark here, but over time, everyone who plays random games with a house edge will lose more and more money, and eventually a few of those people are going to call foul instead of simply accepting that maths has ultimately done its thing.

There are several Winners Screenshots threads here at CM, which are well populated with new content on a regular basis, so it looks like not everyone is finding that it's impossible to win.

The modern HV landscape of online slots does make it a far harsher place, I've readily acknowledged that myself (which is why I've largely checked out from depositing and playing), but ultimately everything is still kicking out its 94-96% RTP.

Maybe people have just got bored of it, dropped it when they dropped the RTP or simply cannot be bothered to post the screenshots.

However a few years back, you would see multiple wild lines and/or 5 scatter screenshots of Dead or Alive posted here at CM on a weekly basis.

Rarely if ever seen these days and as my pretty much only played game, they are a LOT rarer.

I was still hitting them when they cut from 96.8 to 93.04 but nothing for a year or more now

This is not just bad luck, bad luck is the couple of month's here and there, nope this is giving me pay back (AKA compensation) for all the winning in the early days.

There is a very old post in a very old thread somewhere on here where I embarrassingly boasted that I'd ended up 6 years on the bounce in profit, I laugh at myself nowadays thinking "Sucker, you've done exactly what they wanted you to do Jon!"
