After sending them ID they now sent me this request!!!!

Also, for verification purposes, we kindly request you to send us a picture of you holding up your ID.

has anyone ever heard of this. I feel they are stalling?

Yep, there's another thread on this here somewhere. Not Lion Slots, but another Rival. Absolutely beyond ridiculous. Yet another reason why I no longer play at Rival casinos. I'll try to find the thread and post the link.

EDIT: That was fast, it was on the first page of this complaints forum. It's not the first post in the thread, but about the 5th or 6th post down maybe. The OP, tklein, was asked to do the exact same thing. Honest to God, what is next with some of the online casinos?

Well, at least they are not asking you for a picture of you jumping thru these hoops they are sending you but who knows, maybe they will ask for that as a third set of identifying documentation !! Good luck buddy, sounds like you're going to need it...

Also Bash, make sure to PM the rep and ask him/her to comment on this. I thought their rep was Rakesh, but I guess I'm out of touch, as he is listed now as "taxpayer", lol. Here's the contact info for the Lionslots rep, who I guess is the affy manager.

i know it sounds nutty , but it could be just one of the requirments in place to prevent fraud, not saying that is the case with you at all, but atleast they would be able to see that it is you holding up the i.d..........who knows anymore with these casino's but for 2800.00, i would have gladly sent them that, just my opinion...........................laurie

Seriously, an organization, taking player's deposits, can't they find out something less ridicolous? This is something to use against Nigerian scammers. I usually have no problem with sending in documentation, but what comes next, how many goals did you score in the elementary school footbal champ?

    Took their $15, and it lasted a whole 9 minutes! @ .20/spin.

Now I remember why I quit depositing at Rival's....I would love for any Rival rep to come on board here and let us know whether or not the operators can or cannot change the RTP%. I have a feeling that they have the power to do so, similar to RTG. I'd almost bet that they don't have to go to Rival and ask permission, either.

    wow....

    102 Spins total

Mix of SR2 and Cosmic Quest whatever...

    Highest win: $1.10
Wins over original bet size: 5
    $0 spins = 74
    Wagered: $19.66
    "Won:" $4.66
    RTP: 23.703%

This is by far the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!!! Coming in a close second is iNet making you scratch the numbers on your credit card.

    What's next? Honestly?

Take a picture of yourself holding up your utility bills, in front of your street sign, in front of your house number, in front of your computer with their casino online???????????????

Quite, when this holding up the ID in a photo thing first appeared, I said it was a good idea if the alternative was asking the player's Doctor for a "doctor's note" that the ID was real, and sending this in, or even worse, getting your bank or the police to sign it (which they don't do anyway). All of this has been asked of players, and holding up the ID in a photo, while a pain in the ass, is a whole lot better than going round looking for a doctor, bank manager, policeman, etc to sign a copy for you before being able to send it off.

DNA could be the next step, every one has to send it in for their first cash-out, and it would be checked to make sure it doesn't match any one else's DNA on file (multiple accounts).

I am sure there will come a stage where the ridiculous becomes routine, and eventually this will kill the industry, because new players will think it too intrusive, given all the fraud that takes place when the "wrong people" get hold of your personal information.

A couple of years ago, asking for "notarized copies" was almost unheard of, and the Rival rep said it was "rare" (around 1 or 2). Now it seems pretty standard for Rival to ask for something more than the standard ID + Utility bill.

Either there has been a burst of fraud attempts, or Rival have gone a little paranoid, and think EVERYONE is trying to screw them over.

Maybe, the fact you won so much from a 100 deposit is enough, which might make people think the games were not supposed to pay that much, and that you were "up to something", so you have been elevated to "high risk", and need to be looked at more thoroughly.

On the surface it sounds like stalling. But from the casino's perspective they'll probably been hit with lots of fraudulent IDs so I think this precautionary measure is legit. Over the top maybe, but they have to protect their business interests too. As far as contacting the rep, I would only do that if the verification process gets stalled without reason/your payout is denied.

Yes, in fact the practice of asking a player to get a document signed by a bank official still goes on. And surprise surprise, guess who gets asked to do this exceptional measure? Suspected fraudsters.

Panic over. It wasn't a stalling tactic. They have paid me and reasonably quickly once i sent them the mug shot. Still strange request in any case...

Perhaps this is the next thing all players should have prepared and ready. I always have the standard ID stuff as JPEG files on my PC, and regularly update them (when I remember;)) as my cards get re-issued with fresh expiry dates. The one thing I DON'T have though, is a pic of me holding up my ID.
This is probably hard to organise, because the ID held up has to be clear enough such that the casino can see that it matches the JPEG they have been sent of the ID itself, which might be hard in such a shot given that to get clarity on the ID, a high quality is needed, which leads to a large file, even with JPEG.

Or the fact that you may have had a beard/mustache, wore glasses etc. in your pic on your License/ID and the mug shot you take now no longer shows the beard/mustache, glasses etc... because you have since shaved it off or decided to get contacts or lasic...

Here in the states they are now issuing Drivers Licenses with a 15 year expiration date and have been for some time now so a persons appearance can and does change quite significantly over this period of time due to circumstances and the effects of gravity...:eek2:
