hi everyone would like some opinions on how you like to play your slots,i don't no about you but when im playing if a slot seems hot I stay on it and when it seems to cool off I then switch to another,i seem to have particular success at this stategy trying to refrain from the mentality of I must hit a win soon it must be due and staying on until my balance dwindles,my thoughts are though am I just kidding myself as the random number generater should obviously randomise every spin hence quashing the theory of a slot playing hot,are there any slot players out there that likes to play the opposite? give me a shout

Back when I still played (online) I jumped around a lot on RTG. I always found staying on a slot that wasn't paying out would lead to a loosing session. While hopping around led to more features, none of which paid of course (we are talking about RTG) but nonetheless frequent features.

1. deposit what you can afford to lose
2. bet according to your bankroll
3. play for entertainment, not to make $

and yes, slots are due to win...the same way an ice age is due to hit....just don't expect one's happening when you're around..but then, who knows

Playing a slot when it's in 'suck' mode is a level of pain unknown to mere mortals.

Frankie Dettori slot at Playtech is one of the worst for this. When it goes for you it goes for you hard. Struggling to get within a mile of a bonus round, won't line up any symbol over a three in a row.
In fact next time I'm at a race course and see Frankie i'm going to break through security and give him a piece of my mind about his stingy dream-crushing slot.

The other side of the coin is of course that when these things are running hot you can just pull up a chair, get out the popcorn and watch yourself hit line after line.

Theoretically regular streaks shouldn't occur on random slots - streaks yes, they will happen just the same as losing periods. The payout undulates as we know, a session at 80% RTP can be followed by one at 115%; I would hazard a guess that this is when players get the impression of 'streaking'.
If you can predict 'getting a chair and popcorn' then the slot wouldn't be random, it would be a compensated AWP.

Having dispensed the above bit of theory, I do know where you are coming from here - I have experienced it myself and built up a good balance quickly, and am then in the comfort zone whereby I know I can sit back and play my favourite slot knowing that I can pull out at any time and bank my existing profit.

It seems the better mood you're in, the happier the slots are - probably because you are well up and subconsciously are registering the bigger wins that appear. But one thing certain about luck - it will change.

That's not necessarily true about real luck. Somethimes the very nature of luck dictates that a person will never really experience misfortune.
He'll just be the truly blessed one in a zillion that avoids all pitfalls and picks up all the gold bars along the path.
And equally there will be people at the other extreme end who work tirelessly for others, constantly do good deeds etc but never get lucky or fortunate, just experience one mishap after another and probably die young from a rare carcinoma.

It's those at the extreme ends that make the news of course, that get remembered.
Taleb describes this effect very well when discussing the charmed life of Casanova, in one of the best sections of his book The Black Swan.

But that's real luck in the 'brutal outside world'.

If we're talking about online casino luck then yes I agree, it is certain to change :)

The reason why they appear streaky is because you (and most people) don't notice when the slots are not streaky (which is most of the time). This is a common phenomenon observable in many spheres of life. When you buy a new car, all of a sudden it seems like everyone has the same model (because you just start focussing on them, while ignoring all the other makes/models).

Same with the 4 scatters = shitty bonus round. Most bonus rounds are shitty, getting 4 scatters is rare...so your chances to get a shitty bonus round when you get 4 scatters are high. If you had the same shitty bonus round with 3 scatters, it would be just another one of those and you'd quickly forget about it...but since you got 4 scatters, you pay attention, and since it's shitty, it must be rigged.

Mathematics and the way our brain works can easily explain most random events that don't appear random.
