Hi

i have been a player of several online casinos for the past couple of years and i have found myself to be pretty lucky with any microgaming casino. I occasionally play at rival casinos and this past friday i made a deposit to simon says casino. On sunday I requested a withdrawl of 600.00 which was processed. When I requested the cash out I still had some money in my acct (approx 43.00 I left in there). On monday I logged back in to my acct with them to play the money that i had left and when i logged into my acct i had gotten a free 20.00 chip which i claimed and added to my acct which then brought my balance to 63.00. I played on that money until Tuesday when I requested a withdrawl for 5000.00 and upon the request i was told that i could only withdrawl 243.00 because the 20.00 free chip had a 10x max cashout. I asked the rep that I was chatting with how that was possible if I alredy had an existing balance before i claimed the 20.00 free chip so I was unsure how they figured that the 20.00 free chip they gave me was what made me win the 5000.00. the operator kept repeating herself saying there was a 10x max cashout for that free chip. I told her that I wanted to speak to a supervisor and was told there was not one available for me to speak to. I ended my chat session with her and logged back into my acct to find that I now had a 0.00 balance adn my acct history shows a withdrawl for 243.00 but where the other 4750.00 went to is nowhere to be found. i understand that with coupons and promos that there are wagering and cash out requirements but where i am confused is how they figured their 20.00 is how i won the money i won considering i already had money in my acct prior to claiming the chip. If I got techinical about it 2/3 of the money i started with was mine to begin with so i could see them only giving me half or something like that but they didnt adn then to top it off whether it was bonus money or my money in the acct it should have been left in there. I have never had a problem with microgaming casinos so this is all new to me and i am hoping maybe somebody can give me some insight into this? If i had nothing in the acct to begin with and claimed the 20.00 free chip and won i could see where they are coming from however that is not the case. Somebody please help me!!!!!!

Hiya: They gave you your $43 back, and x10 of the $20 free chip. Just get the money, and put your $43 back in if you want to.

"FREE, IS ALMOST NEVER REALLY FREE". Never claim any free chip without taking a moment to read the terms of it.

You should not have taken the free chip when you already had a balance. When you took the chip you knew what the wagering requirements and max cashout were. Even if there was a way to figure out what you won with the original money and what you won with the free money, you are still under the rules of the free chip.
But then, you knew that already, didn't you?

Lovetowinalot is right, nothing is free!
I'm afraid you are going to have to put this one down to experience.
Any unexpected bonuses that show up in your account always have conditions attached. Usually a playthrough requirement or a maximum cashout, sometimes both.

I have always been of the opinion that if these surprise bonuses crop up in a players account, the casino should either email the player, or inform the player in a pop up window of the basic conditions attached.

However once play has commenced it means that you have accepted the bonus T&C's.
As you never made a deposit, in your case that 20 free chip would have been playthrough bonus only. As this was combined with monies already in your account then playthrough would have been academic. Hence the maximum cashout rule.

The bonus funds are deemed to be played before any other credits. Which is why you only got 243.00. If you ever encounter surprise bonuses showing in your account, either read the T&C's first or get support to remove the bonus BEFORE any play has commenced.

This is a hardluck story, but one I am sure you will learn from. So better luck next time.

Mike

This wasn't a bonus that was added without her consent. It was a bonus offer...she had to deliberately click on the bonus and then click again to claim it. She chose to take the bonus.

20.00 free chip had a 10x max cashout.
This is no different than taking a deposit bonus. Once you mingle your money with the bonus they give you, it all translates to reflect the wagering requirements for "ALL MONIES" started with play.

So...you really were bound by the T&C's once you chose to take the free chip and mix it with you leftover monies.

A player with more experience would have FIRST played out the remaining $43, and only if they busted out to zero, would they have taken the free chip. With the max cashout in mind, they would have chosen bet sizes that did not present the risk of such large wins.

Rival give out loads of these free chips anyway, and had they paid out the $5000, you would have been bonus banned from all of them. As it is, you should still have free chips available.

Personally, I dislike this max cashout system, because it DOES punish the very rare extreme payout, yet does not put a floor under the very bad spells, unless you can just keep on taking one free chip after another until you win, which might happen with Rival.

I know its damnation winning a decent amount on a free chip but really ... you need to read to Terms n cons. Free chips from rival almost always have a max cash out. Why you would claim a free chip with funds still in your account ? no winner on this one I think. The casino is within there right to pay to the max of the free chip and rest is history. Sorry :(

I do not understand how that still gives them the rite to take what she had out in withdraw already before claiming the chip if she did not reverse it.

They didn't touch the withdrawal. Read the opening post again

I thought you couldn't claim another bonus/free chip at any Rival unless your balance was $0.00?

You can, as long as you have cleared the WR on a previous bonus.
Only if you have not met the WR you HAVE to zero-out to be able to claim another bonus.
I'm really good at that, zeroing-out.

The OP did suggest s/he was an experienced player...So no sympathy here

I am a craps player and sometimes like you have a few bucks in my account. Since craps usually(not always)a banned game if you take a bonus I usually contact customer service if they give me a free chip without asking and have them remove it from my account. If you don't do that you open yourself up to the kind of games your casino seems to be playing with you.

The bonus was claimed so you have to follow the t&cs, whether you still had a bankroll or not. Basically your sol, why would you take a freebie when 1. you still had a cash balance and 2. you didn't read the t&cs first? Chalk it up to a learning experience and move on.

OP, Sorry, to hear about your misfortune. :-(

Did I miss something? I thought the OP said the free chip was put in their account without them requesting it. If that's the case the only way for them not to have "claimed" it would have been to ask support to remove it, which even some experienced but casual players don't always know they can do.

I thought you couldn't claim another bonus/free chip at any Rival unless your balance was $0.00?

This is exactly what I was thinking... rival had made some silly rule that you couldn't even claim another deposit bonus or free chip until your balance was zeroed out, something is fishy about this....:eek2:

You missed this bit...
On monday I logged back in to my acct with them to play the money that i had left and when i logged into my acct i had gotten a free 20.00 chip which i claimed and added to my acct which then brought my balance to 63.00.
That $20 freebie wasn't added to her balance...she had to go into the cashier, see the 20 bonus, click on the bonus, and then click CLAIM.

And, I could be wrong, but I think the rules state you aren't supposed to claim a free chip unless you have a zero balance...not that you physically can't. I may be wrong though, since I have never tried to claim a free chip when I have a balance.

I sympathise but this `experienced` player obviously isnt.
That is how you attain experienced player status, by learning from your mistakes such as the OP has done in this case.

The OP can now rightfully call himself a more experienced player as a result of this.
