I have requested three times for my account to be closed. Once in November of 2013 and twice in March of 2014. I told them that I have an addiction to the games and they still have not closed my account. I need help...please.

 Because safe to say, the OP is still playing.

@OP - look, a reutable casino SHOULD close accts when requested. However, they aren't therapists. If you KNOW you have a problem, then do something about it. Delete the casinos from your harddrive. Get GamBlock. Go to meetings. Oh, say, stay out of gambling forums. Bryan can move you to the reserved section no problem.

How do you know it's not closed?

I don't want to come quick to conclusions but I found this little, tiny, text in Binny's post:

I told them that I have an addiction to the games and they still have not closed my account.

This might, I say might, have made her to come back for the games again. ;)

@op:

Binny, this casino is on the Casinomeister's rogue list. However, they are trying to get out of that list and they have a rep here!

Also, are you sure that you told them to close your account due to your addiction/gambling problem? I suggest you ask Bryan to move you to the quit gambling group as Dionysus said!

yes, yes, and yes

Yes I told them three times, yes I contacted their rep through the link listed at Casinomeister, and yes I have removed it from my hard drive. And I know it is still open because I can sign on through their website on instant-play. And yes I am getting help, but this would make it a lot easier for me.

@Dionysis - I don't think you realize how serious a gambling addiction can be. Some of us try to stay away are we are simply not able. I've been there myself. Your response came across a little bit rude and hence my response to you. I agree that ALL casinos should have a self exclusion policy. Unfortunately that is not the case. I managed to get myself banned from all accredited casinos/sportsbooks but one. They refused to ban me for life. The only way I am able to stay away is by having my parent control 100% of my money. Otherwise, I'd probably be dead broke and homeless by now.

I apologize for being or sounding rude...I was and still am upset. I have made another contact this morning (with another link -resolutions@acerevenue) and still no one has taken any action on this. Again, I'm sorry.

1. gosh, is it? Had no idea, what with my years of college, life experience, own gambling and say the 20 years being around gamblers, casinos and gambling forums. But thank so verily for the heads-up
2. I'm not under any obligation to sugar-coat and go 'there, there, it's ok'. That's what moms and loan sharks are for. If someone needs a hug, they aren't in the right place. Frankly, a GAMBLING forum - is the last place. The OP, a self-admitted gambler, shouldn't even BE here to read it.

Ignore the negative comments. You have admitted to them, and more importantly to yourself that you have a problem. Any responsible casino will take this VERY seriously, and indeed the accredited ones do. The trouble is, a disreputable joint will recognize that an addict is an easy source of cash, will often do anything to find sizeable funds to deposit AND play them until they bust out. If you have a pattern of doing this, a bad casino will not want you to stop irrespective of an addiction.

Unfortunately sometimes the only way to get banned from bad sites is to win big. That is very wrong.

Try and PM the rep as this should not be happening, and good luck with your recovery.

I have to agree 100% with dunover here. I hope they act quick and make sure you can't access your account ever again. Most casinos close accounts asap when you write to them and tell them you have a gambling problem but a few even tries to give you bonuses to stay, even when you clearly states how big the problem is. It's all about how credible the casino is really.

Binny - I wasn't saying that you are rude, I was addressing Dionysis. :)

Dionysis - you are missing the point. Your advice is valid; however, with the sickness that is gambling addiction, the last thing an addict needs is to be hammered down brutally. I'm not saying that you should sugarcoat anything, just say it in a certain way that will drive the point home and that won't make anyone feel worse than they already do, that's all.
This may sound weird but, being on gambling forums actually helps me keep my sickness in check as I see more people like me on here and it makes me feel that I am not alone in my struggles, which has a helping effect.

ok. Fair point. Though of course, because that may work for you does not mean that will work for everyone else - elsewise Bryan wouldn't have the function, which he does utilize from time to time, to place players in the 'quit gambling group', and away from the temptation of the rest of the forum.

Regardless, if your preferred method, is to be kind, patient and understanding, that's certainly your prerogative. What is is NOT, is my obligation.
I didn't miss your point. I just don't happen to subscribe to it. ;)

I received a PM this morning from blrock regarding this request. As soon as I received the PM I took all the necessary steps to ensure this player has been blocked from Planet 7 and any other casino usage. I have received confirmation from management that this has indeed been employed.

Great and efficient work. However, do you have any idea why the blockage wasn't made immediately upon request?

Because they hadn't yet read this thread in Casinomeister....:D

I think that's being a bit unfair, especially when you aren't aware of the player's situation. She has over 40 accounts and a minimum of 8 differing emails. This makes tracking down her casino accounts a bit difficult.

I feel it's doubly unfair to come here and beat up a casino for no legitimate reason but only to vent your vexation - especially when this umbrage should be targeted at oneself.

40 at the same casino/group? But surely if a player tries to close say via live chat, it would become apparent immediately to CS that the account they were communicating through is the one to be closed?

As for your second sentence I'm not sure if that's aimed at me or all of us or why it should be targeted at myself/ourselves - not being obtuse here, genuinely don't follow your drift!

Ah, bugger it, bedtime for me now anyway......:Read:

It's complex. But from what I gather she is blocked entirely from any of their casinos - unless she sneaks in under the radar using a differing email address, etc.

The second sentence was directed at people who try to enlist the membership in seeing things their way without being fully upfront on what was going on. So no, that's not you.

It always amazes me how many different ways problem gamblers can ask to be excluded without actually saying the words they should be saying.

In this case the OP said they, "are addicted to the games." IMO that's too ambiguous, it has to be a mental block which keeps the problem gambler from saying, "I have a gambling problem."

If casinos really want to combat this problem they must remove the possibility of misunderstanding such a serious matter. How about a simple checkbox in the support section, eg; 'Check here if you are a problem gambler and want to be permanently excluded' and the notice goes right to the people who can close the account.

Sure, people could still sneak back in under the radar for a short time but it seems like a simple step that could make a difference.

I had already prepared something in response to this, but Bryan pretty much beat me to the punch with most everything (thanks, Bryan).

To answer your question, chuchu, there is zero record of any emails from this player so until I became aware of the situation, there was nothing to be done. The player claims she even sent an email to resolutions@acerevenue, but this was never received and I can say this with 100% certainty. Both greedygirl and I are included in on all emails coming through resolutions. I never received an email and I checked with greedygirl and she states she never received an email. I spoke with management and they never received an email via this address.

As Bryan already mentioned, this situation has far more involved than what the player has intimated. Once we learned that this player wanted her 'account' blocked/closed, we did so, along with the 40+ more we located, which she failed to disclose. There's much more to this story, but at this point, throwing someone who has a serious gambling problem under the bus just doesn't sit right, particularly in a public setting.

Just as a polite coutesy, and for clarification, you might want to edit your post. The way you quoted it, its looks as though chuchu made that statement.

Yep. I actually edited it because I'd missed Bryan's posts (which really summed things up for me), so it's all good now (I hope!) :D

40+ accounts? What is it with people?

Was she able to deposit with all these accounts? If so, she couldn't cash out anyway since this group always wants documents and card authorization forms).

Was this a win-win for the casinos in question?("Let players create duplicate accounts and deposit, they can't make withdrawals anyway")

Or was it only free chips she claimed?
