I don't know how many we have here, but it would be good to get input from at least ONE of you! ;) There was a recent thread where a player self-excluded for a gambling problem at one casino, then deposited at a different casino thinking they weren't related, and that account was closed because of the self-exclusion at the first one.

The question that I (and maybe others) have is this: Is this a blanket policy from EveryMatrix where a gambling problem self-exclusion keeps you from playing at any casino using this platform or is it a decision that's left up to each individual casino whether to allow the player or not?

I'm just curious, and I think it would be helpful for people to know. :)

Hi Chayton,

Good question :thumbsup:.

Basically the self exclusion is dependent by license. So for example Guts operates on our own license separate with Every Matrix being just the provider of our gaming platform. If you were to exclude from one of Every Matrix's white label clients for gaming related reasons then you would be excluded from all other casinos operating under that license which is what I understood happened to the player in the thread that you referred to.

It would be much the same if Guts opened a second casino under our license, if you excluded from the other casino we would also exclude you from Guts.

Hope that answers your question.

Ben

Thanks for the response Ben! Just to clarify though, the player in the thread I mentioned said that they'd self-excluded from Guts first before playing at the other casino, the second casino (sorry can't remember the name right now) closed his account (they said) because of his self-exclusion from Guts. :confused:

I'll have to go read that other post just to make sure...

EDIT: Yes that's what it was, the player contacted the casino support, who then contacted EveryMatrix, who then came back saying that the player had self-excluded at Guts, so they closed the account. That seems weird, doesn't it?

Guts was on the Every Matrix license until sometime late last year so it is possible that the player self excluded prior to us switching license which would mean that Every Matrix would self exclude them too based on that.

Cheers,

Ben

I think it is not platform but the license. Some Everymatrix casinos use the white label license of EveryMatrix, I think it was called OddsMatrix or something like that, but some EveryMatrix casinos like Guts have their own license. So EveryMatrix-OddsMatrix casinos are legally obligated to exclude players from all casinos if player chooses to self-exclude themselves from one of the OddsMatrix casinos. But EveryMatrix casinos with their own license don't have to do that anymore than non-EveryMatrix casinos would have to do because player had self-excluded themselves from an OddsMatrix casino.

:thumbsup: Makes perfect sense. Thanks Ben!

Betcha can't say that three times fast! :p

@Ben: Is it possible for a casino to work on a provider's license ?
@Everyone else: Just to strengthen what Ben was saying with an example;
- If I self exclude from 32red, I am still able to play at any MG casino like 7 Sultans Casino or other;
But I would be unable to play on Dash Casino Nedplay or Golden Lounge
- If I self exclude myself from 7 Sultans, I would be able to play on 32red;
But I would be unable to play on Royal vegas, Platinum play, and so on.
(Although they may have different licenses and this would not apply)

My advice would be to read the T&C before playing @ another casino.
Also, to keep a track of your self exclusions and ask the relation of the casino you'd like to play on with the casino from which you're self excluded.

Trouble is, some people dont self exclude for gambling related problems.
You could find other casino accounts closed for other issues.
Best thing is for other than gambling problems, dont close accounts, just dont log in anymore if you no longer want to play there.

I have found myself with a few casino accounts closed just because i had issues with a casino ( software issues ) and closed my account due to being pissed off with them.

I did mention something in a thread a couple of weeks ago

But i talked to Ben and Next casino rep last month and they assured me i was ok on thier casinos

Software providers don't provide casino licenses.

You can recognize casinos using same license from their license numbers, which are usually visible on front page bottom of the page.

The casinos that use EveryMatrix's Malta gambling licenses have these licenses usually listed there.

That's great - In theory.
The problem is, after you'll be MIA, they'll start spamming you with mails / phone calls / snail mail / etc.
And if you unsubscribe, and they really unsubscribe you and honor their promise,
You still have the letters from affiliates, whom does not know that you're registered already on that casino
And if that's not enough, you'll still get nostalgic after a while, you'll give them One more shot, and we all know how that will end :D

@Finn - Thanks :)

Either that or find yourself barred from more casinos.

Upto the individual really but its something i regret doing

There is a difference between closing and self excluding.

If you self exclude the casino has a legal requirement to keep your account closed for a minimum of 6 months at all of their casinos, if you just close it you can open it at any time and you may be able to close at just one of a groups casinos.

Three or four emails i sent asking for my account to be closed.
Same reply everytime, if i want to close it then i can do it from my account so that meant i had to self exclude

You can self-exclude because you don't like the casino or because you've been unlucky or because you're pissed off with them about something and that won't affect you opening an account or playing at any partner casinos. But if you self-exclude because of a gambling problem (like the player did in the other thread) then it's a different story.

If you're pissed off or unlucky then just close your account if you may want to use them again, a self exclude has a 6 month minimum requirement, for any UK facing Casino anyway.

I wonder if that depends on the casino and/or group? When Fortune Lounge used to have like 9 casinos I had accounts at all of them. Of course I only really played at 2 of them, so one day I asked them to please just close all the others because I never played at them anyhow, and they said they could but I wouldn't be able to reopen them for a specific amount of time - it was a long time ago so I don't remember whether it was 6 months or a year. But I'm pretty sure it was for a year.

Nowadays if I'm pissed off I just don't play for awhile! :)

Some extra feedback

Not sure if you guys came to a concrete solution here.

As been mentioned before by Ben - you self exclude from the license and not the Casino, but one important par here is that it is only true for the UK license.
If you are playing on the European License you block yourself from the Casino and not the license. We of course prefer the European version, since players can block themselves for other reasons then problem gaming.

It is possible however to close your account without using self exclusion if you ask support.

Sadly some operators are "threatening" the players that if you block yourself from us you will be blocked on all sites, it is not true if you just choose to close the account normally. Also a reason why we like the European version vs the UK version, since if a players is being treated poorly at one EM skin and exclude himself because of that the other brands are also punished by their lack of customer support etc.

This should be an updated list of UK facing brands on EM

However strange that Superlenny is listed there since from their page you can see that they have their own license
