Omni Casino tricks

Agree with Jetset, well said vgyhnji. Unfortunately, Omni is going about this the wrong way. Yes, many of us have used their monthly bonus. So what? They've offered it and they gave it to us freely in the past. We have always needed to deposit our own funds to get the bonus, so we have always risked our own money when playing.

Like I mentiond in the "poll" thread, seven of the "pitch a bitches" are from members that have used these bonuses from multiple accounts.

I will wait until I am 110% positive that these players opened these account to abuse Omni's bonus policy before I take further action.

All seven of these players are forum members. If what the casino says is true, these forum members should hang their heads in shame.

I will grant amnesty to those players who come forward and publicly apologise in this thread. Those who don't will be banned, drug out into the street and shot (figuratively speaking).

Seven of the eleven claims submitted through me (yes, all forum members) have multiple accounts at Omni.

Unless they're actually taking multiple bonuses, simply HAVING multiple accounts at Crypto has never been a problem. I've racked up a few at several over time, and it's invariably been with the casino's permission, such as for a fresh download with the old login details lost. As long as only one account is actually USED, it's always been fine - and unique to Crypto. As long as they only play on one account, that there are X number of "dormant" accounts has never been a problem and no reason to disallow a bonus on that one active account. Of course, they might have decided on a backdoor policy-shift on this matter, but since they never had a problem with it previously it'd be a bit rich for them to claim it as "fraudulent" behaviour now. They would have to advise players that any dormant accounts need to be closed prior to subsequent play. Then and only then could they claim multiple accounts (as opposed to multiple bonuses) as fraudulent.

I once talked to someone at Ecash about a deposit problem and was advised that the simplest option was to open another account. She said a lot of players liked to have a separate account for poker, so they had a fairly relaxed attitude to multiple accounts. I found it a bit suprising, at the time! (don't worry, you can put away the stakes & don't need to throw me in a river to see if I drown - I've only ever had one account at Omni and didn't PAB :D)

casinomeister said:
This is what I'm trying to find out: How were these other accounts used?

To be fraudulent, seems they would have to be in someone else's name. If they are in the same name, I would suspect just a dormant account as others have suggested.

I have a dormant account at William Hill, at their request.

Tekman, having an account at Sands and one at Omni is not multiple accounts so no worries.

Stanford.

Slight misunderstanding between me and Peak Entertainment. They meant multiple accounts across all of their casinos - not just one, so things are cool.

So instead of multiple accounts, we simply have multiple bonus abuse :D

Just kidding.

Too bad no one stepped forward. That would have made the posting of the year :D

Still waiting for a resolution. Hang tight.

Casinomeister, Can you clarify what is meant by multiple accounts?

I've had four accounts at Omni alone. Of course that is in a time span of well over four years. Considering that they had clunky software for many years in which if you didn't save your information to a floppy disk that account was gone if you bought a new computer, reformat your disk drive or simply delete the casino hardware during spring cleaning.
Then when you redownloaded the casino the old login info was no good. If you contacted support to get your account opened THEY INSTRUCTED players to open a new account.
This is across all Crypto casinos from my experience.

Also of note. I've had about the same amount of accounts at their sister casino Sands over the years. They are STILL emailing me with promotional offers even to this month after this Omni fiasco. Wonder why that is?

I have never claimed more then one bonus in a month ever at any of their casinos.

If this is the best bullshit excuse they could come up with after a month of stalling then it is sad. Maybe they should hire some former RTG casino managers to conjure up some creative excuses for ripping people off.

No one is getting ripped off here - and I already explained that there was a misunderstanding between me and Peak about multiple accounts.

multiple accounts = more than one account. I was concerned that some players were opening several accounts with the intent to defraud the casino, but that ain't the case so don't worry about it.

And subjective negative posts here don't help the situation either.

Too many posters in this thread who are completely irrational, claiming someone who fulfills the bonus requirement doesn't deserve the bonus bonus.

If the casino feels the ones following the T&C for a bonus is a bonus abuser and feels some additional actions from the player is required ADD IT TO THE BLOODY T&C. The casinos are free to add whatever stipulation they want as far as I am concerned. But when the player follows the actual stipulations the casino has in the T&C, not giving the bonus is simple theft. If you want the player to gamble more, increase the wr. If you want the player to play other games than BJ, add it to the T&C. If you want the player to deposit without bonuses from time to time, only allow bonuses on half of the deposits. The casinos have every tool they will ever need to get rid of bonus abuse. The real reason why they don't is that they want to both keep and eat their cookie. They want to make the offer so sexy it is hard to resist, but when it turns out the player actually made a profit from the sexy offer the casino don't want to be held accountable.

This is a business filled with so many bad operators that the good ones will have their reputation tainted by default. And the industry as a whole doesn't seem to be able to regulate itself. Because of incidents like this and general misconduct from many operators (slowplaying, horrible customer service) have led me to stop playing at online casinos and switched to poker. Partly because poker is a game where you are able to win through skill (unlike casinogames where you are only able to win through luck) and party because the pokerrooms have a business ethics the online casinos haven't. I have never had any problem with an online pokerroom. The slowest payout I have ever had is 4 days and you aren't viewed as some kind of criminal (unless you prove yourself innocent by losing tonnes of money). You are *gasp* treated as a customer.

Sorry for the rant. Keep up the good work, Casinomeister and others. And I hope that the good casinos out there will prosper. Because there are a couple of really good online casinos out there.

Whilst that is good news (and well done on chasing them to righteousness, 'Meister!) this abrupt about-face does suggest that they have belatedly realised that they screwed up.

If that is the case, the decent thing for a professional management to do would be to apologise to the customers and reassure them that the problem has been rooted out and will not again raise its ugly head.

I fear Omni has lost a lot of lustre in this incident.

I think that is the bulk of it. It is the real bonus abuse. Well said.

I agree. This casino seems to think communicating with the player community is a bad thing. And right now, I don't know if we have an iceberg solution - fix what is seen and leave the bulk below the surface.

I hope they have addressed the problem in total. But I don't know. I wonder if there has been a management change. Does anyone know?

Meister, thanks for the hard work.

Stanford.

Bryan, you are a star.

Indeed you are Meister! :notworthy

I hope that in future when you say you are dealing with an issue people will show some restraint and not blast away at the casino until you have had the chance to resolve matters. ( I know this is probably a vain hope)

I am an unashamed advantage player but have had no problems getting my bonuses from Omni every month including Decembers.

I do not play stupidly however and do give casinos a chance to take my money and have never been barred from a bonus so far at any casino. :)

I can only speak for myself, and probably other advantage players, but surely we should think long and hard about biting the hand that feeds us. Reputable casinos need supporting not slagging. If you pee them off enough they might react in a way that pee's us off!

I would hope that you will put Omni back into your reputable casino list because they surely are.

To players hoping to use bonuses to gain a longterm advantage the message has got to be - play sensibly not stupidly.

People showed restraint this time. Didn't help.

LOL. Absolutely. Couldn't agree more.

FTR - "blasting" casinos is a very effective weapon. It works. Doubt that and I have a packet of examples to shoot at you.

Kudos to Bryan for stepping in again. No wonder Casinomeister won GOM 2004 Watchdog Site of the Year.

No doubt this should be done (like Gaming Club did in a similar brouhaha). Otherwise Omni will not be voted Casino of the Year anymore.

They should be on the recommended list but IMO viewed with some caution regarding bonuses unless a manager comes here to tell us otherwise.

Thanks again to Bryan.

That's a qualified recommendation. If they are on the recommended list it is because CMeister has received assurances. If he didn't believe them, he wouldn't recommend them.

I will go back to them on that recommendation. I don't need a management appearance although that would be nice. I will be playing Omni almost immediately.

If he has to issue a caution, they should be on the non-recommended list. And I shouldn't be playing there.

imho,
Stanford.

My first post here. So Omni is number one for me!

Thank you Omni for helping me register at this great forum.

How about that November bonus though? Still waiting so I just pitched a bitch.

Peace

Thanks to Bryan - I finally got the bonus.

Not sure where OMNI is in my future playing.
Once some breaks your trust .... ???

Still on their website: (better contact them before playing for the bonus)
Receive $100 bonus every month!
Start Date: December 2nd, 2004
End Date: December 31st, 2004
Players who return after their first month's play will receive $100 after they have wagered $4,000 in the casino*.
There will be NO restrictions on this money, and it can be withdrawn immediately.
- The bonus is limited to one per user, per month after meeting the wagering requirements.
- The bonus will be credited at 10:00 AM EST the day after you've qualified.
- Wagering amounts do not carry over to the next month.

*This loyalty bonus will not be credited to accounts that have in the past shown patterns of bonus abuse (ie wagering is done primarily using promotional funds and not deposited funds).

As CJack says, though, their website hasn't changed. So it looks as though it's only resolved for a few players who've complained through Casinomeister. Unless Omni have promised to change their website, warn players in advance, or make some other change to the bonus offer!?

Seeing as the idiom 'doing an Omni' has entered the English language on another thread I just thought it was worth asking again if we're likely to see this issue resolved? At the moment their terms still include the unclear 'bonus abuse' get out clause - so players have to wager $4000 but have no idea whether they'll receive the bonus or not - or am I missing something?

This is a slightly theoretical question as I wouldn't touch the bonus in its present form, but I don't see why they seem to have been let off the hook so easily on here. There's no excuse for not informing players in advance if they're on a 'bonus abusers' list - it's a clear case of fishing for deposits under false pretences.

The way I see it is if Omni does not change their listed terms and does not inform players in advance that they are on a "bonus abuser" list, then they will just go through this every month and ultimately have to give the bonus anyway.

Have any of the players here who were caught in last month's fiasco been told they are ineligible for future bonuses?

The absence of any kind of statement from Omni about this might make one think they have learned nothing from this.

Bryan said on Dec 3 "It looks like they will be making some changes that will be fair to both the players and casino alike." I can't see any which isn't to say maybe they actually have.

Are they still removed from the reputable list? (Sorry should have checked before I wrote.)

Anyway, going forward, if you are a new player, it will make it rather hard for them to say "This loyalty bonus will not be credited to accounts that have in the past shown patterns of bonus abuse (ie wagering is done primarily using promotional funds and not deposited funds)." since wagering with promotional funds would seem to be impossible now.

Omni came up in another thread, so I felt this matter was worthy of comment.

This term is still unchanged. As Clayman said, you would think it's irrelevant - how can you have wagering "done primarily using promotional funds and not deposited funds" when there are no promotional funds in the account until $4000 in wagers has been achieved? And yet, they are still excluding players from their promos. On what basis? "Deposit abuse"? They clearly - though incorrectly - define "bonus abuse" as "wagering primarily with bonus"; so, players deposit and play without a bonus, request the bonus, and are denied because of "bonus abuse".

Abuse of that which doesn't exist, and as such can't be abused.

Anyone thinking of patronizing Omni, read this thread well.

lol

Ha! Deposit abuse. That's FUNNY Caruso.

I have been thinking of giving them a try again recently. Afterall, it would still be a decent bonus still, with the 4000 WR, that is, IF they give it to you. I think maybe I'll just save myself the irritation and skip them. And to think, I use to think they were such a good place to gamble. I used to hold them in the same high regard as Intercasino. I just don't know what they're thinking. Well, maybe I do know what they're thinking. If a player comes in and blows his brains out on slots and fruit machines, I guarantee you they'd be happy to give the bonus. That's probably the bottom line. I'm guessing blackjack and double bonus video poker equals no bonus. Play slots, and you're welcome any day any time. I'm guessing, of course. In the meanwhile I'll just stay out of there. :(

I have been looking around for another wagerlogic casino and I went to download 3diamonds (on the good list) and Omni pops up saying they have merged with thier "sister" casino.

Now, with this thread of how bad Omni is, I am worried that they (3diamonds) needs to be removed from the "good" list since I was redirected to Omni.

Has Omni cleaned up thier act ? Anyone know? I love Intercasino and the tournies they offer. This was the reason I was scouting out new sites. To enter more money tournies. (I have cashed out some nice paychecks on very little entry monies). Last tourny I won was for $780.00 for a $10 investment!

Thanks!

Ah yes, they should be removed from the list. Presumably they are paying for advertising here so you would think they would have contacted their affiliates to let them know and replace it with an Omini link.

There is no difference between any of these casinos (same management), except perhaps that they had not offered bonuses at 3 diamonds for a while, and without bonuses there are 50* fewer complaints.

Interesting they also closed 49er and One-one-one (their 'rich-people only' casino).

So the Peak group has two brands now: Omni, and Sands of the Caribbean

They obviously either felt that they could better market two streamlined brands, or the cost of those extra Cryptologic licences didn't justify their profits.

Play at your own risk at Sands Of The Carribean.

Funny, I never had a problem either at Omni or Sands. As a matter of fact, they have been more than kind to me in giving me bonuses and loyalty awards, with nary a delay in processing my withdrawals....
