The thing is that folk use the pardoning claim as well as anything else to bash Trump blindly with when they obviously have not checked his record of pardons while in office with his predecessor's record.

I think he left the administration, or was fired, in 2017 already, that's right. But he's connected in this case to Trump simply because of the fact it's about Trump's wall Let's let the authorities do their job and if he's not guilty he's not guilty, but that doesn't mean they should postpone the whole case. Otherwise one could always find a reason not to do certain things.

But now you're also saying nobody is allowed to write negatively about Trump either? What the hell is going on? I thought the USA is a democracy and not a dictatorship? There's also tons of books that are very pro-Trump and those get alot of attention in the conservative media. I guess those are ok?

Regarding pardons I would be quite happy if trump gave one to assange, he's already been effectively punished enough with a 7 year house arrest, plus time on remand.

I take pundits with a pinch of salt, most of them with a whole pound of salt. Sadly all "news" channels in the USA have the same issue and that is they don't bring the news, they bring opeds and especially in primetime.

yes that was a bit of an unfortunate blunder, I hope there is no back story for it ... But there is so much smoke and cry wolf activity, TDS masquerading as journalism, who can say what he's done wrong so far. And he can effectively only do what the republican establishment agree or allow, hence his health care reform going nowhere in 2017 when the republicans controlled congress. He is not the all powerful dictator as some make out.
