Hiya: Should there be a hole in the ground, where N. Korea used to be?:D

I spend 9 years in S. Korea. The training exercises have gone on for over 20+ years, and we have them twice a year. "team Spirit, and UFL". If we are traing to attack the North, we must really suck to need 20 years of practice?
We also can't just leave. president Carter tried that, and it almost started a war. So, what to do?

They have or will have Nukes. They are an animal, trapped in a corner. Their entire economy and goals have always been, "One Korea, under the N. Korean flag". This will NEVER change. So, they just keep using stalling tactics, and keep on building, or obtaining the items needed, to build Nukes. China is their friend.

What is N. Korea trying to do? The exact same thing they have tried to do since the War stopped, and they retreated back behind the border. Force the South into threating to attack them, giving them an EXCUSE, to attack first, claiming self defense. And, at the same time, Claiming this is a Cival War, and for everyone else to stay out of it. S. Korea has better weapons, but N> Korea has one of the largest Army in the world.

If you were president, what would you do, if anything?

Nothing I would nothing....its none of our business.....I think the US should keep our noses out of anything that does not directly involve us. 911 attack ok strike back....but ummm then we went looking for those weapons of mass destruction that we never found (cause they didnt exist) and wound up getting Saddam hung instead....that wasnt our business...was he an asshole? sure but wasnt any of our business.

Hiya: But what about all of our soldiers stationed there? We have over 20 bases in S. Korea, and a promise made by both Rep/Dem parties, that if anyone attacks S. Korea, they have also just attacked America. Seems like we made it our business a long time ago.....

PS; Gold Star, Samsung, Lotte, Hyundai, are all make in Korea, and are Korean products. Just saying.....................

I agree, we are not the worlds babysitter but who we are is a nation of caring , freedom loving peoples who will not sit by and watch another country lose theirs.

There has been a pack between the US and S.Korea before most of us and our parents were even born.

If we were to pull our troops out of S. Korea, how long do you think it would take the N. Koreans to invade and take away these peoples rights?

They can not defend themselves against a tyrant with a happy trigger finger ready to blow them off the face of the earth.

Im saying there never should have been such a pact. If the USA would just stay outta everyone elses business we would be a lot better off....but its over and done with not much can be done now....I love freedom as much as the next guy but we are not FREE in the USA. We dont have it as bad as some and we dont have it as good as others.
