I do agree with you that the "Cancel" culture, or whatever people call it, has gone completely overboard instead of sticking to a reasoned approach and debate.
I do not agree to assign the blame entirely to one side. For one, looking at history, did the "other side" not go overboard for centuries, maybe even millennia?
I am not part of any of the sides, neither liberal nor conservative. My life got me through communist, democratic, socialist and monarchist countries, hence, I think I've seen and lived through all forms and came out just fine.

Oh dear...I appear to have lowered this thread to the lowest common denominator possible with my latest ad eminem.
So time to take a break for a while.
TBH, I am worn out with Trump and his shenanigans, which in turn have generated the BLM movement, the Cancel Culture movement, etc. Well-intentioned movements perhaps, but the repercussions - both positive and adverse - are going to be felt for decades.
Instead, I am going to focus on watching paint dry for the foreseeable future. Much, much more fulfilling.
Although perhaps not for the neighbours.
So time to take a break for a while.

E.g. a debate is to look at both sides of a story and exchange point of views. I made the effort to read and answer to @ladyhawke 's posts and gave her a story that shows the "other side" to balance it. She can choose to answer or not, that is her prerogative.
