Hi guys. Do you peeps have any tips on how to make your money last at online casinos? I deposit 70 and in 30 minutes its all gone playing minimum bets on the microgaming video slots.

It happened to me at this is vegas casino. I am tempted to just stick to sportsbook betting tbh.

I wouldn't put 1 cent in microgaming casinos right now. From the looks of it they're on the verge of, or already have, lost a large part of their customer base in the US market and the machines are tight as ever.

The conspiracy is this started about a month and a half or two months ago. Microgaming knew they were about to practically drop all US players like a hot rock so they "did" something to all the slots where you couldn't win a dime on them, although they'll never admit it, you can tell something has changed when you play them. Sadly this not only affected US players but worldwide players too.

If I were you, I'd stick to the sports book or try one of the non-rogue RTG's.

Thanks. Is Intercasino an RTG casino? I remember I sunk 50 into Jackpot city last week and didn't win a dime in 50 spins. Not even 20 pence. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

I don't want to play at playtech as their video slots are boring as hell and lack variety. I might go give that casinomeister slot a whirl.

    Pinsnpies,

I am a little confused. This is Vegas is a Rival casino, not Microgaming. Intercasino uses Wagerlogic/cryptologic software not RTG software. The casinomeister slot is only available at intercasino at the present moment.

As for Playtech, personally I find the slots better than MG but they have banned both US players and also those from where I am living. The bets on progressives are the lowest on the net. A $0.25 bet on cinerama or $0.5 on Wall Street could fetch you a progressive in the region of several hundred thousands.

If you want extended play, look for those slots with low variance. I am pretty sure that with minimum bets your $70 will last a lifetime at Skullduggery (Microgaming). Definitely one with a very low variance.

    This newbie needs an education;)

This is the right place for it:D

For starters, look on the menu bar and find "CM Casinos". These casinos have passed a rigorous vetting process to get there, and ther is a route to pursue complaints through this form (known as PAB, or Pitch A Bitch) when things go wrong. In addition to this, many casinos, even those not on this list, have a fairly high ranking "rep" as a member, where complaints can be escalated past normal front line CS.

As a Welsh player, Pinsnpies can play at nearly every online casino, even the bad ones.

For getting 70 to last more than 10 seconds, the low rolling strategy of Kasino King is my recommendation. This relies heavily on getting value from slots play, including the use of casino promotions to increase both playing time, and chances of winning.

While playing a "low variance" slot will give you more playing time, there is the small matter of determining which slots these are, looks can be deceptive (and this is no accident:D ). One might think that the MG slot Cashapillar with 100 lines is super low variance, but you would be wrong.
MG slots such as THunderstruck are NOT low variance by any means, and the minimum stake of 9pence is still high enough to see off 70, although most likely in hours rather than minutes. It might be a case of playing the wrong kind of slot. Some of the older slots such as 5 Reel Drive may well be lower variance than the likes of Thunderstruck, however the have a very high minimum bet, and in most MG casinos, this is 25p per line, making it 2.25 per spin, now this WILL see off 70 in under a minute if it is on a bad run. Worse still, these old video slots are WEIGHTED (or "rigged" if you prefer). In particular, if you play LESS than the maximum number of lines, your return can go as low as 88%, even though the slots are SUPPOSED to pay 95%. This is because of the weighting, it favours the higher numbered winlines, so not betting on these goes against you. It is ONLY possible to bet on higher winlines by betting on all the lower ones, so you cannot bet, say, on lines 6 through to 9 and not bet on 1 through to 5.

Playtech, although "crap", seem to have much lower variance slots than Microgaming, and playing at 1p per line here can have you going for hours, even days.

Intercasino is Cryptologic (Wagerlogic), however it is strongly suspected that their slots pay out at around 90% rather than the 95% of other softwares. Many of their games also have a rather high minimum bet as the min coin is 5p, or even 10p. Some though, offer 1p, and this allows for suitable low rolling with 70.

Intercasino also offer a 65 for 65 bonus every month to existing players, which is enough to get 130 worth of credits and 5 change from a 70 deposit. 130 will last twice as long as 65, although you will have to play a certain amount before being allowed to withdraw anything (for slots, this is 18x the 65 - but there is a neat tracking tool). There are additional promotions through the month, as well as a tournament section, which for the UK Pound casino often has few participants, and greater chance therefore of winning.

Wagerworks and Rival, well I have not tried them, but they have their fans, as well as critics.

There are quite a few NEW softwares popping up, some are OK, others not so. There is a rogues gallery of "cheating" software, and these should be avoided since the "cheating" usually means that the operator can rig the games in order to guarantee a profit, or in other words, guarantee the player loses overall, however lucky or good they are.

you could try opening up an account in us dollars rather than pounds, check t&cs first or email support to see if this is ok with them

althought with the pound doing so bad it might not be long until even this wont be worth doing  70=$103 with a 100% bonus it will stretch your balance to give some extra playtime,

If you want to make money last longer, you could choose lower variance games, use a smaller bet size, choose slower playing games (for example, solitaire), or take bonuses. Note that slots are one of the highest variance games in the casino.

First you play card games, not slots. Second, small bets. Third, play with big bonuses.

Naturally I disagree with the two posts immediately above. Low rolling on slots will give you WAY more playing time than any other game IMO. Also they are allowed at 100% in all bonuses, which is a big plus. VWM hit the nail on the head; low roll, play the right slots, use bonuses. Not only have I have masses of playing time doing that, but I've also been profiting from it for the last 4 years quite nicely too!

I was just thinking the other day that for newbies, starting out on online slots is a nightmare, especially at MG. There's what, about 200 slots to chose from? Maybe time for another Beginners Guide page on my site!
In the meantime; When I play MG's these days I normally run through the bonus video slots alphabetically. When I do this there are some slots I just ignore (cos they're crap), some I occasionally risk (high variance), some I like enough to play most times and some I love & always play.

Very briefly, these are the (non-crap) ones I've played in my WR's at MG's this year:-

Age of Discovery, Avalon, Bars & Stripes, Big Break, Big Kahuna, Bummer Girls, Bush Telegraph, Cabin Fever, Cashanova, Cashapillar, Cashville, Chain Mail, Dog Father, Dolphin Tale, Double O'Cash, Dragons Loot, Dyno Might, Elementals, Franken Cash, Gladiator, Glory of Rome, Gypsy Queen, Halloweenies, Harveys, Hitman, Ho ho ho, Isis, Jolly Jester, Jungle Jim, Kathmandu, Ladies Nite, Loaded, Lucky Stars, Mad Crappers, Magic Spell, Mermaids Millions, Moonshine, Munchkins, No Worries, Polar Bash, Prime Property, Santa Paws, Scull Duggery, Snow Honeys, Spring Break, Starscape, Stash of Titans, Supe it Up, Tally Ho!, The Galactic Goofer, The Osbournes, ThunderCrap, Tomb Raider (1), Tomb Raider (2), Twister, Wasabi San, What on Earth, Wheel of Wealth, Witches Wealth, Worldcup Mania.

I can't agree about Playtech being crap (maybe you haven't played there recently?). OK, they don't have as many slots as MG (thank goodness!) and they do have some crap ones too, but they also have some pretty good ones!
Like you say, most are low variance so give good playing time. I do like the software - the only reason I don't play there very often is the lack of any Playtechs offering repeat bonuses on a par with the other main softwares. :(
Note to newbies: More Playtechs are rogues than not - tread with care!

Some WW slots are OK, but again some are crap. They also don't have many to chose from.
Rival now have quite a good variety of slots, but like MG it's knowing which ones to play or not...

i think the simple answer to make your money last longer is buy a book instead, i heard war and peace offers good value for money, or 1000 things to do with an elastic band is quite good, :p

I myself agree with aka23 and KK!
I start out low rolling on the slots, if the one I pick isn't being nice, I just switch to another one! It might take a little bit to find one that is in the "give" mood, but I manage to stay alive. Once I find one that is being generous enough to bring me to twice my deposit amount I slighty increase my bet. (ie: On a 15 line slot, I bet 1c per line.. once I build I up it ,, I increase my bet to 2c per line) .. if it decides not to give with my increased bet, I bring my bet size back down.
If I manage to get to 3 times my deposit I try two large spins. If they don't pay I go back down.
(It may not sound like much, but I have managed alot of playtime and many cashouts this way!)

The most important thing to remember is IF you do take a bonus.. be very careful what games you play. Slots are allowed on almost all bonuses where VP, BJ, etc are usually not allowed and could be used as a reason for non payment of winnings.
Always read the T&C's to any bonus you might take.
    and Good Luck!

Unfortunately I am not keen on bonuses. If I triple my money, I can't cash out.

I do agree with this 100%!! As far as bonuses go., I have learned to use them alot more sparingly for exactly that reason! To me at times the playthrough can be agonizing!

Once you decide the amount to deposit, do these 2 things:

    1. Deposit the money into an interest-bearing bank account; and

    2. Play at any casino you want in free mode.

Your money will last forever!
