I've just wasted an evening of entertainment in one spin and this is not the first time. Meaning I just by mistake hit the max bet button for €20.
I've played thousands and thousands of hours RTG, Microgaming and Playtech and it never happened.
One thing you have to be attentive about playing Netent is you have to reset bet every single time you change game. That is if you don't prefer the preset bet which differs from casino to casino. That's annoying enough and has cost me quite a bit.

So I ask myself, why do I hit that max bet button again when I know I have to be attentive. Because the games differs a lot. With RTG fx you know where the different buttons are since they're all basically the same design.
That is not the case with Netent and when you're not familiar with one particular game it's easy to make these mistakes. Well I'm sure some have the attention and concentration capacity to deal with this or the wallet for that matter. I don't so goodbye.

lol! I had exactly the same problem with Platinum Casino! (MG) On Sunday for some weird reason I couldnt seem to deposit into any of my casinos, (the casinos just weren't excepting it) and this went on for like nearly an hour of attempts. Finally managed to make a deposit into Platinum and was so eager and hungas to gamble, just pushed spin without checking. And it was on Max:eek2: There went my $20 for the night. Was totally spewing:mad:

Mind you I probably should of taken it for a sign when I was having so much difficulties trying to deposit into any of my casinos:p

In the past I had the same problem at party casino, press the max for $500 a spin  yes.... I know what are you thinking now.....

That's awful. I do feel for you. I have done the same. Not that much but enough to piss me off:mad:

What casino was it? Isn't it possible to get it back some way if you ask nice?
If it was Nordicbet or so...

I know you love the games. Why can't they have it set on lowest betsize, and make those rich gamblers have the problems instead?

Have gone in a similar trap myself at the Netent slots. When you go out of a game and in again it goes up to default bet which is 5 euros or so. Kinda boring to spin away the whole bankroll in one spin, unless you win.

Thanks to all of you I'm sorry you had to make the same mistakes

@realitybitez Maybe it's a sign of stress when you do these mistakes, guessing you're were a bit stressed and so was I today. I've hardly noticed that max button at MG but like Netent the games differs you don't find the buttons at exactly the same place.

@1366613 Are you kidding $500 ouch :eek2: I feel for you.

@tirilej Thanks, Good idea Tiri leave the problem to the rich gamblers lol. It was Betsafe and I've already closed my account.
I wasn't just whining I have closed my accounts at all the Netents where I want to play, except one will do that tonight. :sob:

@spoton Yes it's really annoying. Don't know if that default thing has a technical explanation or if it would be possible for netent or the casinos to change it into max lines, min bet.

Think i have read in previous threads ... (might be reading thigs :what:) that if you speak to the casino in some instances and they check your play history and can clearly see you constantly bet a much lower amount they may free chip or reverse the transaction. Worth a shot maybe

A looong time ago I made the same mistake playing video poker at Littlewoods when they were on Crypto and bet £100 on one hand! I emailed them and said what had happened, they looked at my normal gameplay and refunded the money. Worth asking if you are a regular.

Wasn't it a poll made on what stakes we would like the games to be set on when we start playing? Made of a casinorep. Forgot his name, but he was a good one;)

I see if I can find it. It was interesting I do remember that.

Thanks, that option didn't even cross my mind. I should have waited for some replies before I started to shut down accounts, silly me

I remember that one, don't know about the final result but when I checked the winner was max lines, min bet.

By the way, how many times have you been asked "Are you sure you want to exit casino"
How about "Are you sure you want to choose max bet" ;)

I couldn't find it but I believe it was Plex Rep who started it, and he is sadly gone.
At least you remembered the result, that's something;)

I'm a regular and Betsafe says "this bet can not be turned back or refunded".
Thanks for the tip! @smcinoz and tirilej too :)

It was at least worth to try, but remember that if you had been winning a lot on that first bet, you would not have given the money back to the casino saying that it was a mistake;)

Yup! I was stressed alright. Nothing like trying to deposit in how many different casinos and kept coming up with 'there is a problem with this credit card transaction' or something like that for like nearly an hour before one deposit finally gets through:eek: Which reminds me I need to ring my bank. I'm sure they've locked my cards again. They do that when I do too many oversea transactions, a security thing or something:p

Wow.. thats something I didnt know!:eek2: I'd give it a shot myself but my last deposit was 2 days ago - so probably too late now:cool:

If they refunded your bet, and you posted it here which I assume you would, there are those among us that would make a beeline for the place and "accidentally" make a $100 bet and ask for a refund if they lost. It's a free $100 bet to a fraudster, and they would make a lot of bad PR all over the net if they refused to refund.

An unpopular opinion, but its the players responsibility to check their bets. Closing accounts because of YOUR mistake is very extreme. Accept your error and the consequences.....not everything in life is everyone else's fault.

I have hit spin on a much larger bet than i would ever make a number of times by accident before while playing NetEnt and it sucks.

For some reason occasionally I have glitchy play time and the reels will freeze so I have to get out and then back in to the game I was playing and after already playing the game a while then being distracted having to reload it I miss the ball and hit spin.

Any other time I always check my bet on any game before I hit spin but sometimes distractions happen and even though these distractions were casino issues, I am the one that hit the button, so I have to be responsible for that I guess.

I totally agree with Nifty that there would be people out there that do and would take advantage of this so that's probably why casinos take a hard stand.

Unfortunately, while most of us play honestly there are some scum bags out there that ruin it for everyone.

That said though, IMHO some of the bet sizes that these games are set at are crazy and I am sure the percentage of players out there never bet that high an average spin, so just what player is benefiting from having their bet size on that level? Surely not the majority of players out there.

I've accidently hit the max button on MG slots before. I'm with Nifty, its my fault for not paying attention. Just write it off as having a bad day. If you take a bonus and the casino has that max bet bonus rule they could use it to void your winning should the spin hit.

It is the players responsibility yes, and I don't think a lot of people PAB because of hitting max bet by accident. Of course the casino can't have a policy of refunding when someone hits max bet by accident, that doesn't change the fact that a lot of the casino software seems to be designed by monkeys. Pretty much all the problems could be easily avoided if the software designers or casinos had any interest in it but so far the only one that did change anything is 3Dice.

It's not even good for the casinos when someone hits max bet by accident, they get less wagering generated with a higher chance of the player hitting a big enough win to cashout.

Yes I get what you're saying and I agree it's my responsibility for sure. I can appreciate it may seem like I'm blaming Netent and closing my accounts on that ground is extreme, I agree.

I'm sure Netent didn't create their games to make gamblers accidently hit the max bet button. However there's a big difference between fx RTG and Netent as I'm sure you're well aware of.
Your choice of bet size will "remain" even if you deinstall. There's no max bet button. You will have to be very bungly to accidently play max bet.

When you play Netent you have remember to set your bet everytime you change games, not ideal imo.
Netent differs in design but for many of the games the button where you choose coin size is right next to the max bet button. If you for one moment is absent minded or excited it's easily done that you max bet instead of changing coin value.
I'm fully aware that I'm probably more absent minded than most people, but still it doesn't seem fair.
A few millimeters... and you're out ;)

I don't blame Netent and I don't believe this is intentional in any way but I think it's a flaw in construction.

I leave Netent not because I blame them for anything but because I don't have the concentration and attention abilities, a good eye-sight and a thick wallet. That's all :)

Edit: I can survive a €20 loss occasionally but I feel cheated.

That would be an excellent argument if the coin size button wasn't 5 mm next to the max bet button
