Don't like Sci-Fi Casino payout terms!

I'm glad to see the Sci Fi rep posting here and addressing this issue. Personally, I think that Sci Fi and Breakaway are reputable casinos....and while I don't like the installments plan, if it was posted in the T & C's, I don't have a problem with that. What I don't like at all is that the remaining balance is left in a "playable" state. That at least should be removed from the player's balance, and become untouchable. JMO.

I agree that SciFi has a good overall reputation. I even opened a trial account there recently, trying them out with a free chip. However I got no response to my e-mail queries so I dismissed them because of unresponsive CS. Also I noticed the installments system which is a real turn-off.

I mean, if I deposit say $2,000 a month, and then I hit a $25,000 win, which is not altogether impossible after a few years of play:D It would be really nasty to get just $2,000 a week and have the rest sit in my casino account, playable but not withdrawable.

Remove that installments term, and we'll talk:D

Cheers,
SM

Same day payouts are available weekdays for withdrawals under $500, when requested before 12pm ET. Same day payouts cannot exceed $2,000 per week. When withdrawing large sums of money, SciFi Casino may opt to send your winnings in payments.

That's too bad. I think that this is one of the better casinos around, and I must say, their customer support (via instant chat) has been quite kind and generous with me over the years. While I don't like any "maximum" amounts that are set in place (on a monthly basis) at various casinos, $2,000 per week is WAY too low.

First off, let me say that I play at his casino -- a lot. Sometimes daily, small deposits, but I'm a regular in other words. I've always had prompt response from their customer service. I like playing here and think they are quite reputable. So there is no hidden agenda when I tell you the following...

Sci Fi's idea of 'large sums of money' must vary greatly. I hit a RF, left myself a little to play on, withdrew $1000 (there was no bonus whatsoever involved) to my NETeller and it was eeked out in two $500 payments. It was not my first withdrawal. I withdrew via the same method I used to deposit.

Now, I don't know about you other players, but in my mind, that is bordering on the absurd.

Edit: I went back and checked emails and my account. I deposited 11/6/05. Withdrew later that evening. I usually receive my smaller withdrawals within 24 hours. They declined the $1000 and sent $500 to my NETeller 3 days later on 11/9/05. I emailed the Cashier, basically saying "Huh?" Received no reply. The other $500 was then credited to my NETeller 11/11/05.

I appreciate the SciFi rep posting and letting management know that something should be done about this archaic installment rule.

Reading that again, it says same day payouts are available for max 500 a day, and 2,000 per week. There's no max weekly overall withdrawal. There's just a wild term saying the Casino can opt to send large winnings in payments, so I guess that could mean anything.

Even some Casinomeister accredited casinos do this: Slots.com for instance says they won't pay more than 5,000 per week.

OK, maybe it's not so bad, 5,000 a week. I wish my employer paid that:D
At least Slots.com indicate they will pay exactly that.

Even 32Red has a maximum payout limit per day: 120,000

Cheers,
SM

Well that certainly works for me!:D

Sci-Fi

Has anyone else noticed how tight these RTG games have become since the so called "software upgrade" ? I am by no means a big bettor, but I am an every day player. I win some and lose some like all gamblers but lately I can't even get a sniff at this Sci-fi / Breakaway group. Out of my last ten sessions with this group I won $25 once and got wiped out straight away in the other nine, most without hitting a single, winning spin on any game. Even the video poker which I once considered to be the best online doesn't pay any more.
While I have a little cheese with my whine :D :D I'd love to hear some other opinions on this recent software upgrade by RTG.

Breakaway Casino strikes again...

I too recently had a bad experience with BreakAway...I won $3K, and got the same "we only pay out in installments..." BS also. I started emailing them, asking why they were insisting on no less than FIVE installments, of which I had to pay an enormous Western Union fee each time. They didn't respond. So, I kept sending the emails, asking why they couldn't just WAIT and pay me in ONE installment, so I would only have to pay ONE WU fee.

Today, I get this really nasty email from the "supervisor" telling me that due to my "nasty attitude toward their customer service people" they were deleting my BreakAway Club status, or some other BS. (Like I care, just pay me!) I wrote them back, begging them to tell me WHAT attitude, other than just trying to get a response from SOMEone - ANYone that would answer the question. What a cheesy operation!!!::

I totally understand that you are pissed because you getting paid in installments, but here is absolutely NO reason for you to be mad at all! Basically you are raving at the same thing like the starter of this tread...

Breakaway, like sci-fi have clear payout rules what are clearly visible on there homepage and in NO way hidden:
Outdated URL (Invalid)
Withdrawals
For your online safety, BreakAway Casino requests you to fill and send via e-mail or fax (208-439-4988) the Security Form to make your withdrawal. These documents are one time only and subsequent withdrawals will be processed with no delays. Same day payouts are available weekdays for withdrawals under $500, when requested before 12pm ET. Same day payouts cannot exceed $2,000 per week. When withdrawing large sums of money, BreakAway Casino may opt to send your winnings in payments.

So, thats no BS thing like you are talking about, but just plain and simple rules! You know them when you take the time and read the banking page and should know that they stick to it. Thats no BS in my eyes, its just their way of doing biz. And that the honest way, telling you up front!
The casinos of this group are highly reputable, they pay, and you will get your money...
That you had to pay big fees for your western union withdrawels sucks, but you can't put the blame on them for that eighther... You are the one choosing the way you like to get your payments. Ok, they could come up with some more payout options and I'm shure they will, but for now they only got the ones what are also clearly stated on the banking page!
Why you're not trying out NETeller? OK, mybe you got your reasons not to do so, I don't know....

That the customer service is not responding to your mails could have several reasons, maybe they just don't have the time to explaine things what are visible to everyone on their banking page.... :)

That they closed your account or you did loose your club status could have the reason that you maybe didn't find the right words in your mails... maybe you wrote them when you were hot, its always better to wait a day to calm down and and write then.

I don't know what happend there and why, but be shure that they will pay you all your money they owe you!

I only can repeat that this group is highly reputable! Many guys don't like the installment plan on higher winnings...

To say this straight out, without meaning to insult you or anyone else:
All about the installments and payout options is right there on their banking page, nothing hidden, you know about it before you even download the software! Eccept you don't take the time to read those pages, then you don't know about it, but stop putting the blame on honest casinos.
Many casinos could learn of Sci-fi and Breakaway in this case. They don't even try to hide this in the T&C's somewhere... NO, its there right on the banking page... for everyone to see! It's still your choice if you play there!

The main thing is:
IF YOU DON'T LIKE GETTING PAID IN INSTALLMENTS ON HIGHER WINNINGS THEN JUST DONT PLAY THERE!

You got no reason at all to call them a cheesy operation...

Good luck
Andreas
