I got the announcement earlier this week that CM's annual awards would be posted by the end of this week, or early next week. I don't know about the rest of you, but I really look forward to this every year (yes, I have no life). Anyone have any thoughts, anyone you think is a slam dunk winner, in any category?

The burning question for me is can 32Red make it an unprecedented 4th year in a row? There's been a few bumps for them this year, but certainly nothing earth shattering, and any problems have been dealt with and corrected in a timely manner. That being said, there ARE other good casinos out there as well. Inetbet and Trident Lounge seem to just keep rolling along, quietly but with great efficiency.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Best Casino Group go to Trident again.

Best New Casino, my vote would have to be with either ClubWorld or Villento.

The Fall from Grace award is an interesting one....a few casinos have made it to the rogue pit this year, most notably Sunny Group and Vegas VIP Lounge casinos.

Stupidest Name award? 32Vegas hands down (or did they win that last year, lol).

Top Casino Manager....for me it's hands down Pat Harrison at 32Red. Some may work AS hard as he does, but I don't think anyone works harder. I think Emily Hanson of Inetbet won it last year, and no doubt she would be a deserving candidate as well. Micki Oster of Trident Group, although she may not post much, is always around and takes an active role in resolving any issues that may pop up. Tough competition for sure...it's hard for me to really give an objective view, only because I don't play anywhere but 32Red, for the most part. I guess that's why Bryan does the awards every year, lol.

Most annoying forum member? Now that's a tough one, lol. As long as I don't win, that's cool.

So does anyone else have someone they are rooting for? Or do you care? And Bryan.....any hints? :D

Footnote: If there were an award for Best Post of The Year...no competition. It had to be Greedygirl telling MR. BOAZ SASSON that Stevie Wonder could have done a better job of proofreading....lmaoooo. I still crack up when I think of it. :D

For best new casino I would consider Cocoa Casino, 49er Casino, and Big Dollar Casino.

Worst Promo: Belle Rocks 1cent free spins.

Best Promo: Mansion's $1000 free bet.

Best new thing: Microgaming's new bonus system.

Best new slots: Hype

Best way to lose your slot winnings: finishing the wagering requirements @ iNetBet (or practically any other RTG).

Best read: the English Harbor cheating thread.

I love reading them also...

I would like to add a few more member awards...
John Steed - Best poster
Tennis Balls - funniest poster
Simmo - The Squirrel on Spidey poster
Jetset - Most informative poster
Pinababy - Most erotic poster
Casinomeister - The ruler of them all
Hoffman - The most missed poster

As for casinos
Best Casino - 32 red
Worst Casino - Punkmeister (Wouldnt even let me download the dang thing, despite the pleasing testimonials :p)
Fall of grace - Vegas Vip Casinos or Shark Casino
Worst Promo - Bellerock

A new award, most overated casino.. HYPE

Thanks guys - I've been burning the midnight oil on this year's awards. I hope to have this completed by the beginning of next week. :D

Hints? He he. There are some new catagories by the way.

I've been really looking forward to the awards as well and considered starting a simiar thread. My guesses are below. Note that I've been here for only the 2nd half of the year:

Best Casino -- 32 Red

Worst Casino -- This is a tough call. One of the rogues

Best Casino Group -- I am can name quite a few that it is not, but none that really stand out as positive to me... one of the Microgamings

Worst Casino Group --- Sunny Group?

Best New Casino -- Villento

Fall From Grace -- Mini Vegas / Vegas Affiliates

Best Player Experience -- That referred player who won King Cashalot at King Neptunes?

Worst Player Experience -- That guy who was owed >$100,000 at Club Player

Best Software Provider -- Microgaming

Worst Software Provider -- The software that advertised different practice modes? I think Wager21 or iGlobalMedia should be here, but I am probably alone in that.

Best Named Casino -- Villento?

Worst Named Casino -- Enter Casino?

Best Casino Manager -- No idea?

Worst Casino Manager -- No idea?

Most Annoying Forum Member -- I'll be nice and won't guess.

Stupidest Casino Trick -- Belle Rock's 1 line 1 cent spin promotion.

Stupidest Casino Trick (runner up) -- 32 Vegas awarding a $0.01 bonus to VIPs

Best Warning Robot -- Vortran

Evil Player Award -- I recall an issue with someone taking screenshots of clock times, that was likely fraud. There is probably something more severe than this that I am not thinking of. I know a few, but am not sure if they are on the forums.

PS: That pic is 10 years old

I still weigh the same (140), so not much has changed :P (Other than less hair... )
On your upper lip - or on your pussy?

Worst named casino must be EnterCasino.
Also worst rogue for claiming to have been online since 1996 - which is a bare-faced lie!

Enter Casino is pretty much disqualified since they have been around for a number of years. I try to choose a casino that was launched during the year. This year yields two winners - a tie.

But I agree wholeheartedly, Enter Casino is a stupid name.

The Jackpot Factory debacle has got to get a mention somewhere... That was both abhorrent and hilarious in equal measure.

Best casino suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurely has to go to 32RED again! Has there been one *serious* issue all year?..

Best BB poster surely is the mighty John Steed! Will anyone ever match the multi-coloured brilliance that is the Steed? Not yet, anyhow!

Best new slot - Cleopatra! :notworthy Simple and brilliant!

Best software provider actually standing up and doing the right thing - Microgaming with the Mega Moolah refunds...

Can't wait!

Worse to come

In fact, they're all stupid - 888.com (how retarded) Casino-on-net (drips with creativity! Please give me more!). Pacific Poker (what? in the water?)

I have found worse,

A new casinos called....

Wait for it....

"Casino Lobby"!

The customer support domain is worse, "support@customer_service.org"

When I first came upon this I thought it was a joke because it came up in Intercasino's SEO warren. I then found it was a REAL CASINO based in Gibraltar. It may be a good casino, but I hope it has more imagination in it's promotions department than shown by it's creators.

This surely has to be the front runner for the 2007 awards.

There is a lot of wierd names...
In fact all casino names are wierd... 32 red??? Inetbet??? Bodog??? Roxy Palace???
In fact, if any land based casinos had one of these names I would never even think of going to it.. :eek2:

Maybe that's because in many cases the real owners are not really gambling people, but successful entrepreneurs from modern technology-related industries like the cell phone business.

The Jackpot Factory debacle has got to get a mention somewhere... That was both abhorrent and hilarious in equal measure.

Absolutely right Slotster. And I'd forgotten that Bryan usually gives an award for stupidest marketing ploy (or something like that). I actually just went back and read through parts of it...unbelievable. And I read Greedy's whole post to Boaz again......still chuckling. :D Gotta be the post of the year!!

Probably a little late, and I also stole ideas from other members because I agree.

Best poster: John Steed
Best read: English Harbor cheating thread.
Most honost poster: AKA23
Best new software provider: Rival or WagerWorks ( Hype has nice slot graphics animations, but else I do not like them at all.)
Best new casino: Big Dollar Casino (Cocoa and 49'ers as runner ups)
Best bonuses: Grand Prive group
Best casino software provider: Microgaming(as usual)

Worst Promo: Belle Rocks 1cent free spins.
Fall from grace: City Club Casino (The manager actually ends up call all casinomeister members bonus abusers)
Worst Casino software provider: RTG. Doing nothing to help players and backs out from ICE as a dog with the tails between it legs.
Biggest Cheater: English Harbor
Biggest new casino launch flops : CasinoShare and Purple Lounge. ('Monthly' bonus promisses that only last 1 month etc.)

Zoozie

Well, they're done. Vortran and I are going to do our webcast thingy and it should be uploaded later tonight or first thing in the morning :D

Woo hoo!! I'm so excited, lol. I hope it's tonight, as first thing in the morning your time is my middle of the night, and I needs my beauty sleep...ha ha. Can't wait Bryan.

It's been a long night and one hell of a morning Vortran screwed up the Webcast files and they had to be re-uploaded :D

Stupid robot.

Anyway - they're up:
Best Worst 2008

A very enjoyable read Meister and I mostly agree.

Actually it makes depressing reading. Not only does the industry still appear to be literred by "show me the money" individuals and operations, but even more depressing is the fact that 32Red amd Trident won the same awards - again.

Don't get me wrong - i agree totally with the awards. The depressing part is that you'd hope many of the other operators would actually sit down and look at what they are doing right and try to improve. Some have made moves in the right direction, but most have just carried on as normal and in some cases, even moved away from innovations and directives that would improve their customer's experience.

Sad.

And judging from the list, regulation can't come soon enough for this industry. It appears in a far shoddier state, and is consequently a more hazardous environment for players, than it was pre-UIGEA.

Great stuff Meister!
and - as Simmo! said - so sad that nothing has changed at the top, so there are no real competitors for 32red.
Maybe you should induce a new award "second best ...:eek2:" or "best casino without a 32red in its name".

Best Worst 2008

Another great annual read, Bryan - kudos.

Unfortunately, I have to echo Simmo's observation that there has been a disappointing lack of overall improvement in player sensitivity and treatment over last year.

You would assume that even without an increased professional commitment there would be a bigger effort by managements in these areas as a result of all the pressures on the industry at present.

Regrettably that doesn't appear to be the case and we daily continue to be assailed with examples of how not to run a casino.

Agreed 110%.

2005's write-up was probably the most difficult overall. It was hell to come up with anything positive. It was a crap year with an overwhelming amount of player fraud, cowboy operators, fall from gracers, stupid tricks and bumblings. It was hard to find a good stopping point.

I'm trying to look forward to 2007 with an optimistic eye. But it's hard. There are still craploads of lousy operators who just refuse to leave the business.

I challenge all casino operators to look at the positive awards, and try to emulate what these people are are doing. There are lessons to be learned here.

System

I was the player involved in the City Club Casino fiasco mentioned in the "Fall From Grace Award 2006 III". Whether the year 2007 would be any better remains to be seen as I have an even bigger pending fiasco, not of a casino, but as an investor in a well-known forum member.

Is this a direct investment, or an investment into a casino (as a player) based on the promise of guaranteed profit by following certain strategies?

There has been no shortage of post about the perfect XXXXX system for some casino or other. The most recent being of a perfect Roulette system!

2008 should be easy for the "Stupid tricks" category. GP will again pull something at the olympics.
