Woo hoo!! I'm so excited, lol. I hope it's tonight, as first thing in the morning your time is my middle of the night, and I needs my beauty sleep...ha ha. Can't wait Bryan.

It's been a long night and one hell of a morning Vortran screwed up the Webcast files and they had to be re-uploaded :D

Stupid robot.

Anyway - they're up:
Best Worst 2008

A very enjoyable read Meister and I mostly agree.

Actually it makes depressing reading. Not only does the industry still appear to be literred by "show me the money" individuals and operations, but even more depressing is the fact that 32Red amd Trident won the same awards - again.

Don't get me wrong - i agree totally with the awards. The depressing part is that you'd hope many of the other operators would actually sit down and look at what they are doing right and try to improve. Some have made moves in the right direction, but most have just carried on as normal and in some cases, even moved away from innovations and directives that would improve their customer's experience.

Sad.

And judging from the list, regulation can't come soon enough for this industry. It appears in a far shoddier state, and is consequently a more hazardous environment for players, than it was pre-UIGEA.

Excellence

Indeed a great read, thank you Mr Bailey. With all the links to previous winners/schmucks this will provide a whole days worth of good reading. Thanks again!

Great stuff Meister!
and - as Simmo! said - so sad that nothing has changed at the top, so there are no real competitors for 32red.
Maybe you should induce a new award "second best ...:eek2:" or "best casino without a 32red in its name".

Another great annual read, Bryan - kudos.

Unfortunately, I have to echo Simmo's observation that there has been a disappointing lack of overall improvement in player sensitivity and treatment over last year.

You would assume that even without an increased professional commitment there would be a bigger effort by managements in these areas as a result of all the pressures on the industry at present.

Regrettably that doesn't appear to be the case and we daily continue to be assailed with examples of how not to run a casino.

Thank you - great read! Congratulations Bryan, congratulations 32 RED, congratulations Trident - In fact - Well done every one that made it in there!!

Echo Simmo's thoughts too... Great post!

Agreed 110%.

2005's write-up was probably the most difficult overall. It was hell to come up with anything positive. It was a crap year with an overwhelming amount of player fraud, cowboy operators, fall from gracers, stupid tricks and bumblings. It was hard to find a good stopping point.

I'm trying to look forward to 2007 with an optimistic eye. But it's hard. There are still craploads of lousy operators who just refuse to leave the business.

I challenge all casino operators to look at the positive awards, and try to emulate what these people are are doing. There are lessons to be learned here.

I was the player involved in the City Club Casino fiasco mentioned in the "Fall From Grace Award 2006 III". Whether the year 2007 would be any better remains to be seen as I have an even bigger pending fiasco, not of a casino, but as an investor in a well-known forum member.

Is this a direct investment, or an investment into a casino (as a player) based on the promise of guaranteed profit by following certain strategies?

There has been no shortage of post about the perfect XXXXX system for some casino or other. The most recent being of a perfect Roulette system!

2008 should be easy for the "Stupid tricks" category. GP will again pull something at the olympics.
