Caribbean 21 bug at King Solomon's

While playing some Caribbean 21 at King Solomon's, there was a hand where I split and then doubled on both hands. When the dealer busted, I didn't think I was actually paid enough.

The screen said "Won $10" over both hands, but I was pretty sure my balance didn't increase by enough. It should have went up by $20 on each hand ($10 bet + $10 win), but I was pretty sure I was only payed $20, not $40.

A few hands later, I had another hand to split. This time I took a screenshot before and after to make sure I wasn't imagining things.

As you can see, my balance was $355 after making two $5 bets. When the dealer busted, I won both hands. My balance increased from $355 to $365. I was only payed $10 total for winning the two hands, when the win should have payed $20 total.

I've contacted support, but in the meantime be aware that there is a problem in the game.

RTG's looking into this.

looking into it?????

Their software is blatantly cheating players, the issue has been going on for days at multiple casinos, posted by multiple players in multiple sources (I saw a player who posted in disgust about this on rpoints forum (and I don't think the casino in question have done anything about it)), and they are only 'looking into it'?

Must be reassuring to the players that known faulty system continues to operate and cheat players on a daily basis, and that RTGs' programmers apparently are incapable of working out why players are being short-changed in this time.

1: RTG needs to stop running these games (blackjack and kin) until they can stop their software from cheating, whether it is by some bug or whatever other reason
2: RTG needs to compensate all players involved - not just those who complain on fora like this - and provide a proper answer to why this has happened

Just amazing - their games are effectively robbing about 3% from the players, and the response is as ineffectual as this?

Hear, hear...I can't believe there isn't more of an outcry about this. One of the largest casino software providers has been knowingly running games that have been underpaying players at numerous casinos (it has obviously been brought to their attention, but as thelawnet pointed out, these same faulty games are still operating this very minute), and yet they seem to be doing nothing to make themselves accountable, or even fix the situation.

For the few of us that have the knowledge to bring this problem to light at this and other forums, how many other players is RTG secretly and, again, knowingly continuing to rip off? Unbelievable.

Good old RTG

Ha Ha Ha Good old RTG at it again. How come this doesn't surprise me at the very least. Lets keep the online casinos going and watch a ton of people get screwed and fill our pockets! What a joke....Glad I stopped playing at RTG a long time ago....They screwed me once and I quickly learned my lesson :(

Bug Fixed

Hello Guys

I can tell you that the bug issue has been resolved with us at least. The issue is an embarrassing thing for RTG and for us obviously and we will be taking this up with RTG.

The issue was as follows: The 21 games split function was not paying out correctly for wins.

I welcome any and all people who played the 21 games to contact us and we will take a look at your account and apply the necessary winnings if you have lost out plus a comp. We tend to look after players here. This is true for any players on Geisha Lounge and Grand Aces as well.

One final thought on this, people knock RTG for having a bug, I dont know of a software platform that has not had bugs and there are plenty of people that prefer the RTG software to its competitors.

I think that this comment
One of the largest casino software providers has been knowingly running games that have been underpaying players
is so far from the truth it is laughable.

Finally a big thank you to Bryan for getting this to me ,I took the day off as we rarely get a lovely summers day and was feeding the Queens Swans and tasting her beer when this happened.

Best Regards
Greg

I played some just now and it looks like the bug is indeed fixed. Kudos for taking care of that so quickly.

Greg, why have the players themselves to contact you, wouldn't it be more customer-oriented for you or RTG to run some backend queries to find the relevant people?
There are many players who will never find these forum. Also RTG is a very fast software and some players probably didn't even notice that they were underpayed.

Still one bug left. If you split and get a 1+10 and double it to make a Caribbean 21, the hand pays 1:1 instead of 3:2. I finally got a screenshot of it.

The winning hand should have paid back 10, but it only paid back 8.

On the paytable it's written that Craibbean pays 3:2 first hand only, i think it pays 1:1 after the split.

Derr, you're right. It's been that way for as long as I can remember.

Sorry 'bout the brain fart :eek2:

Another Bug

The way im feeling at the moment ,im going to get it looked at anyways

This what the paytables say

Who Hand Description Payout

Dealer Caribbean 3-card 21 (with Ace) None

Player Caribbean 3-card 21 (with Ace) 3 to 2 (on first hand only)

Player Caribbean 3-card 21 (with Ace) 1 to 1 (after split)

Player Other Winning Hands (other than ties) Even Money

Player Other Winning Hands (other than ties) Even Money

Mucullus - you have a very good point there and i have asked RTG to get the details for every single player that played the game and they will be checked by them since the last upgrade on all of my Casinos.

I will keep everyone posted as to the outcome.

Mucullus Intelligent Suggestion

As per his fine suggestion we have asked RTG for the following :

Following the 21 games error on the splitting of hands:
1) We need to have a report pulled for all players who played 21 games and won on split hands since the last upgrade for each casino (to be done per casino);

2) From this report, all players who are due winnings (from amounts not credited to players' accounts) have to be identified and the amount due as well (may be totalled for each player);

3) Once the above is done, please send through the list of players to be credited and we will take care of this as well as notify the players accordingly.

NOTE this has to be done to maintain the integrity of our casinos and it would also only benefit the bad press RTG has received in recent days, due to this error.

We would appreciate this being done as soon as possible.

How is it "so far from the truth it is laughable"? The fact of the matter is, a problem cropped up, players reported it here and elsewhere as early as June 30, and over a full week later a player posted screenshots here showing that the same problem still existed. It's unlikely that they deliberately were running underpaying games, but if you think it took over a week for them to become aware of a problem like this, I have a bridge in Brooklyn you might be interested in. The correct thing for RTG to do as soon as it appeared something was awry was to either suspend 21 games until they can get to the bottom of it, or downgrade the software to the last known error-free version. It saves further embarassment for them and operators like you.

Their apparent lack of action, coupled with the fact that I still have not heard one single peep from the casino where I had problems with this "bug", does not make me eager to try another RTG casino in the future. Which is a shame for the seemingly reputable operators like yourself who are using it.

Bug Issue

Hi

I can only speak for our group of Casinos and not on behalf of RTG - we took action as soon as we heard about it and asked RTG to investigate.I agree re the fact that they could have made their operators aware a lot earlier and this is one of the questions i will be asking them.

I think that over the years in the gaming industry there have been a number of bug issues on all of the software platforms and what distinguished the major league players if i may use that term from the also rans is the concern that they showed to players.

Again i can not talk for RTG but we have instructed them to prepare us a list of players who have played this particular game with us on all of our Casinos and we will be taking the correct course of action for us and our players. All players who have lost money will be refunded and if possible all players playing this game during the time period will receive some sort of compensation. This is what we believe in and that will be our course of action.

I have passed on my recommendations to RTG regarding the situation and how they should handle it as it is a very cringeworthy situation and i am sure that you will see that they will make the right decisions.

After all of the above there is still a lot happening that is good on the software with new Lobbys and Games and i am sure that this is a temporary blip that will be resolved in the veyr near future.

Have a great weekend guys ,just had a marathon session of poker and am off to the Sea Side.I will keep all of you updated with further news as it breaks and am looking forward to the Press releaseon Monday

Best Regards

RTG will be releasing a press release on Monday about this.
It's Wednesday, and while I do see a press release from Monday on RTG's site, it has nothing to do with this. Nor have I seen any change in the balance of my affected casino account. Any word on what's going on?

Nope, not yet. I'll ask to see what's up.

Bug

Hello Guys

I do know that RTG are working on resolving this issue and have stated that they will be looking to ensure that all players that have been affected by this issue are compensated .The good news is that this will be across the entire RTG client base.

I will contact them later today re this and supply further feedback to all of you in this thread

Have a great day and speak to you soon.

Regards
Greg

That is good news. I lost a whooping $6 from a non-paying split hand on Blackjack at King Solomons on some left over bonus money. One online chat, one email and one phone call latter I haven't gotten any response. At this point it isn't worth my time to pursue it. All I know is no more money for RTG casino unless I am confident that bug has been fixed and some type of restitution to players is made.

RTG software isn't held in the highest regard to begin with and this didn't help. At this point, I think that casino using RTG really need to be proactive communicating what happened and how they intend to fix it. To many competitors for me to invest serious money in software that isn't fair. I doubt I am alone in my perception.

Games

Hi Strollen

Please PM me with your account details and i will get that attended to for you.I find it incredible that our guys did not answer your emails or chats and will look into that. Our Support team areusually a very motivated bunch.

Mary you have raised some pertinent points and believe me there is some hard talking going on at the moment with RTG.

From time to time there is variance on all games .I do not care to speculate on what happened in the Pirate situation as i do not have the full story and probably no one does apart from RTG themselves. But please G_D let that not happen to me :notworthy

What i can say is that we asked RTG for a report detailing all of the players across all 3 Casinos who have been affected by this issue. They responded by saying that they would be taking care of this on a network wide basis.

Take from that what you may ,was it our suggestion or was it always their intention ,who knows ,who cares ,all we are interested in is ensuring that players get a fair game and have an enjoyable time when they do gamble and that they are looked after by us.

If that does not happen for whatever reason then we take it up with RTG as we have done on the software side and on our end we ensure that we have a highly motivated well trained team in support.I come from a Call Centre Environment so i know how important it is to have quality staff there.

Strollen with regards to the esteem tht RTG are held in ,i think that times have changed and things have moved on quite a bit for RTG since thedark days of the past. There have been issues in the past but they do now have a whole new breed of operator. This is critical for any software provider as it is actually your operators who drive and push the software companies.

RTG has progressed quite a bit and i am sure that you will have noticed, and will continue to notice further changes that take place.

I look forward to hearing from you strollen and resolving the $6 issue .
Mary have a wonderful day and i hope that we one day have the opportunity of hosting your wonderful humour at a function.

Best Regards
Greg

RTG Press Release

RealTime release fix for blackjack bug, researching player compensation

Representatives from RealTime gaming announced the delivery of a new patch for their blackjack game, designed to fix an error discovered in the latest release of their popular online casino platform. Delivered to RTG-licensed operators on July 15, 2005, the patch rectifies a program bug that was discovered in the blackjack component of the online casino software.

The program bug came into play when some blackjack players were in a bonus-balance play mode and then that player split aces. In these limited instances, wager values may not have been logged correctly, resulting in possible failure to reward some players correctly for winning plays.

RealTime Gaming personnel and RTG operators are currently researching and compiling each instance where the problem may have occurred, and promise full player restitution in cases of program error, with payouts coming as early as next week.

We are committed to helping to set everything right with each and every RTG player, and are very thankful for their patience, said RTG CEO Michael McMain. Thus far, most of the players have been very understanding.

McMain went on to reassure that the bug was an isolated wager calculation fault and in no way had anything to do with the TST Certified Random Number Generator that powers the RTG platform. Sooner or later, you are going to have a bug to deal with, says McMain. Luckily, this is one we caught early, and we will be able to make things right for every player affected.
