Bovada Checks not cashier check no bank will touch not even check cashing places

    just recieved my cashout from bovada/bodog casino was supposed to be a cashiers check but my bank tells me its not and
    they have to send it off for collections at which time the bank where the check came from will send me a real cashiers check so i can deposit
    it ...this in unacceptable i had called bovada in advance of recieveing my check as i have read many post in other forums of them issuing bad /fake
    checks ..i have contacted them and a request is being sent to there payout dept. to stop payment of the (fake)check and re issue the funds in another form of payment and this will cost me 40.00 of my winnings for doing this ...i dont know whats going on with them but this aint right and
    i will wait the 24 hours they gave me to get back with me on resolving this ..but i guess will have to wait and see ..just for fyi i tried cashing
    this canadian check at many check cashing places as well they would have got 10% of my 3000.00 but even they would not touch it as there isnt even a phone number to the issuing bank on the check for them to call and verify anything ...so will keep posted ....ty:confused:

    ok so i tell bovada of the problem how the check cant be cashed as it is NOT a cashiers check and just as i thought this is there response

    now the reason why this is there response is if you go and google bovada bad checks? youll find many post of people who cash out and recieve
    bad checks at first then once waiting 4 to 6 weeks for bank to stamp there check as bad they contact bovada and wolla a good check is sent whis has no problems being cashed ..kinda funny how what your option is if the check is deemed bad and marked by bank is to cancell your payment thus being charged 40 dollars to do so ...really sorry that this what i get told by what is suppose to be a very well known and accredited casino

    Does Bovada have a rep here? If so, contact them with your problem. If not, check into doing a PAB here if possible.

    Casinos know what a pain in the a$$ it is to cash checks in the US. So it is their responsibility to make sure that there are no questions regarding checks, in my opinion.

    they contacted me asking for copy of the rejectd check...thy no it wasntrejected as i couldnt even deposit it
    so now they will say we cant do anything untill its stamped...but im not waiting 6 weeks for there stamp 2 things are very clear here 1.its no cashiers check this was verified by my bank along with several check cashing places and 2. it doesnt even have a phone number on the check to contact the issuing bank only the proccessor ...sent them a copy of the check though hoping they will see what im talking about .....waiting

    umm how do you say this without seeing the check?

    ??? no disrespect im just curious as i have recieved checks from other casinos and have had no problems with being told that it was not a cashiers check this is first time this has happened to me what concerns me is im not the only one the people who have left post in other forums have been paid in past by bodog just fine but since becoming bovada they get sent bad checks to which they deposit wait 5 to 6 weeks get told its bad tell bovada and bovada sends a good check...again no disrespect intended as im sure you are more xp in this than me ...however what am i to do here
    is there something thats being overlooked? if banks wont cash and check cashing places wont and walmart wont where else is left

    sorry let me explaine

    i had account with bodog for long time but had account closed then later when became bovada i started playing again won cashed out ...now they see where i requested my account closed back when they was bodog and so they locked me out thus i cant stop payment on check now as the money will just go to a locked account so as there advise im going to continue to try and get my check cashed ...sorry i didnt leave enough details before

    my bad i didnt know well maybe place resolved on it im not sure what to do since my account is locked
    i have no choice but to continue to try and cash the check they assure its good so i will wait out the collections hold and see what happens
    least i guess thats all i can do ....

    I'm sorry I'm a tad confused. It's not resolved if you can't get your money or check cashed.

    Do you not have a checking account at a bank you can deposit it to? You would then need to wait till it clears (possibly weeks) before risking using the money.

    yes have bank but

    they dont want to put a hold on they want to send it off for collections which is 6 weeks but seems this is my only option
    at this point...but will update after find something else out ty for response

    I've had smaller banks tell me the same thing when I received Canadian checks from (Bodog at the time) Morris Mohawk. It only took a couple of weeks.

    For what it's worth, BOA took the check deposit no prob.

    Slight derail, Bovada, concerning payout time, Your Payout Reference Number is 3-----7. Your payout will be reviewed in the next 48 hrs. All payouts are reviewed in the order in which they are received. Please review the messages in your bovada.lv account for any updates relating to your payout request. Sincerely, bovada.lv Payouts Team

    Up until very recently the review took only 24 hours. C'mon, baby!

    now just waiting for clearence my bank wanted to send it off for collections but my stepdad deposited it in his account and his bank took it with no problem so guess it has to do with how long you been member of the bank ya trying to deposit into ...any just waiting on normal time for it to clear now and everything appears to be gonna work out fine ...sorry for any confusion on my part and ty again

    i have recieved a couple of checks from bovada and a small issue but nothing major. get a international debit or cc and go to you bank and talk to them that you do business overseas and you will be recieving checks from your profits. tell them that you trade online.or just spend that extra 50.00 and have it wired. its really no loss to you. but all in all my checks went through. ive cashed out a 2700.00 and a 200.00 so its all good!

    well my bank had said

    they would have to basically send the check back to canada and then the bank in canada would then issue a new cashiers check
    that would then be mailed to me by snail mail ...then i could take that check to the bank and then they would cash or deposit it
    said would take 6 weeks to complete... so i had my step dad put it in his account and they just took it right away guess has to do with standings and how long your account has been open maybe not sure.

    Related to the banking side of this matter...

    Took a large-ish cashier check (from a customer's bank in another state) to the bank to deposit for work. I was given a rather complicated song and dance about when the money would be available and why. (Our company has been doing business there for over 30 years.) So anyway... even though it was a cashiers check, and as contractors a large-ish check is not out of the norm, a percentage was going to be 'released' after (I forget exactly) something like 2 or 3 days. Then the remainder would be available in about 10 - 15 days.... I was even given print outs telling when and what and how much ....

    Banking is really getting to be a pain in the ass. It has begun to feel like money is illegal and I feel as if I'm doing something wrong whenever I go to the bank to conduct ordinary everyday business.
