BingoMania currently has the following promotion displayed on their site:

I contacted support asking them for their promised 5000% bonus.. ie, if I deposited $40.00, I would expect a bonus of $2,000.00. When this was denied, I opened up the following support ticket and was given a rather rude response:

So we are clear about the math:

If you make 10 deposits of $40.00 and each deposit is given a 500% bonus of $200.00, then you've made a total of $400.00 in deposits with a total bonus of $2000.00. That bonus is still only 500% of the $400.00 deposited. You cannot multiply a percentage bonus by multiple deposits and call it a larger percentage.

Because they refused my request of giving me an actual 5000% bonus, it is important they don't mislead others and should immediately take down the misleading advertising. Also, their terms and conditions page says this "If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of your support ticket, you may draft a help ticket explaining your grievance and address it to Management."

Therefore I created this support ticket:

I did exactly as they asked, but was still refused. Sending an email doesn't guarantee a response and doesn't create an audit-trail like a support ticket. So I am sure my email request would just go unanswered and the problem would stay unresolved.

Many online casinos will make large bonus offers by multiplying the total dollars you can receive by the amount of times you can use the promotion. For instance, if they offer a 100% bonus of up to $1000.00 that can be used ten times, then they advertise a $10,000.00 bonus. Even though this should be advertised as a bonus OF UP TO $10,000.00 at least the math is correct and they are willing to provide the amount stated in the advertisement. What BingoMania is doing is not the same. There is no possible way of getting a 5000% bonus from them. So they need to immediately stop making this claim and they should never make it again.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you!

Jeff

My thought is that this is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of and would certainly put me off patronizing their casino. A 500% bonus that can be used 1 million times is still a 500% bonus.

An establishment that handles customers monies that doesn't grasp how math works is a scary thought indeed!

...Laughable at best !

Actually, its not just laughable.

In that case, the site is UK based and should be governed by UK's deceptive/misleading advertising regulations. That one should be reported and will probably cause them to be fined, or perhaps players have a claim to actually receive the 750% (or at the very least force the ads to be corrected).

Unfortunately in the case of any US-Facing site, there is no regulation to enforce against off-shore operations.

I've seen this on several casinos before, it instantly puts me of depositing their as it proves the casino is:
a) Mathematically inept, as such is the last place I would play at.
b) Knowingly misleading customers, again not a place you would want to give your money.

Ive seen it on casinos and certain bingo outfits are rife for it,

Verry misleading and as some person pointed out its clearly must be in some breach of false advertisment

Yeah, I've seen this sort of ridiculous thing quite a few times before as well. :(
One of the most disappointing places I saw it was at SlotLand a few years back. After I went on and on at the rep for quite a while, they eventually changed it on their website.

@ OP : you posted a PAB with us on the 24th, then began posting here on the forums about that same issue on the 25th. I gather you either have not read the Pitch-A-Bitch FAQ which you were specifically requested to do, OR you have read the FAQ and decided to ignore the bit about forum posts killing your PAB.

Either way you need to clarify your intentions before I will look at your PAB in any detail. So, I do your PAB or you continue with the forum posts, not both.

<SARCASM>You have a wonderful way of making new members feel welcome! </SARCASM>

Your message could have been sent to me in a PM rather than posting a public shaming.

Had you done so, I would have quickly apologized for unintentionally forgetting to cancel the PAB I submitted. After reviewing the situation I felt that if BingoMania management wasn't intentionally trying to mislead people -- I think they are just idiots that can't add -- and we probably weren't going to get them to ever understand why 10 times 500% is still 500%. But since they advertised a 5000% bonus, they need to provide a 5000% bonus.

Because there is no legal oversight to their advertising antics here in the US, I seriously doubt they would ever have granted my request of actually providing the promised 5000% bonus - we had no leverage to encourage them to compy with I felt the best course of action would be to go all

on them -- by pushing the issue into the public realm and letting the (or lack of chips) chips fall where they may.

If you need to know anything further, you might want to send me a PM.

I do not see no shaming there? You did choose to open up a debate in the forum along side the P.A.B, which if went by the rules there would of been no means for Max to reply yo this thread, A genius when it comes to sorting out problems but a mind reader he is not,

they have apprantly "migrated" to another site

that one offers a 750% bonus !!!

Don't believe me... just look

Laughable at best !

Looks like xxwww.bingonanza.co.uk have a UK license (or rather, they run under Parlay's:

) which means they not only have to abide by ASA but also CAP (although CAP/BCAP complaints still go through the ASA).

This is definitely misleading advertising IMHO. Tbh, a complaint is unlikely to get you the bonus, but may force them to change the way it's advertised... If you want to complain you can do it here:

Well, we're getting off-topic here... BUT...

As I stated in my previous post... I meant to cancel the PAB and forgot to.

Perhaps it's just that Max doesn't have enough finesse in English to avoid phrases like "decided to ignore", but that accusation is certainly not a friendly way to help out a newbie on a board.

Not sure where you get the "finesse in English" bit but that's fine, I'll take that in the giving spirit I'm sure you meant it.

As to my original post you have to understand that I handle roughly 250 PABs per year and 75% are mucked up in one way or another because someone hasn't read the FAQ, read only the funny bits, or did read it and was selective in their following of it. This is a free service that we're offering here and Bryan pays for it out of his own pocket so we feel we have every right to expect and demand that people respect our time and effort on your behalf.

You're innocent of all this? You merely forgot to inform us that you'd moved on? Fair enough, but by doing so you wasted my time, Bryan's money AND you failed to follow the FAQ, section 3.12** : What are my responsibilities once the PAB is submitted? No doubt you made an honest mistake. DON'T do it again, SVP.

You have a wonderful way of making new members feel welcome!

Serioulsy?! You've been a forum member since May 2012. That's almost three years! Given that these same points have been brought up countless times since you signed on AND you were requested many times throughout the PAB process to read and respect the Pitch-A-Bitch FAQ I hardly think you're in a position to play the "me new, not know" card. AFAIC you borked your PAB, you should have known better, I called you out on it and now you'll certainly know for next time. Pretty much time to move on IYAM.

** recently tweaked but the essentials were there and haven't changed.
