I am afraid i am a little addicted to the winners screenshot thread. But the thread can give you a very distorted perspective of what most of us experience. i.e. losing!

I know its a little negative, but i wonder if posters would admit to thier biggest losses?

My biggest loss came a few days ago. I lost over 700 on wagerworks slots. Gutted.

There was a thread about this recently but I couldn't find it.

My figure is $20,000. Fortunately it was all winnings generated from a $100 deposit. Where you live there's no such thing as "winning too much". Unfortunately, my country doesn't take these things so lightly, and that had a lot to do with why I blew it all. It would have taken months for me to get paid without raising some major red flags.

My second time playing at 32Red I got 5 hunters with X5 on Jungle Jim (underrated slot I think) won around 1200 which is a hell of a lot for me, I then moved on to HOHOHO & Twisted and got up to 2500 playing 5 spins. Then I went crazy with 7.50 spins and lost it all. But I did learn a lesson..i think..

My biggest loss is not much at all $40. I write articles on my site about how I feel when I am winning and losing in order to asses the psychological side of gambling. When you deposit $5 and win $50 you think I now have $50 I could win so much with that deposit you gamble until its all gone. You may set limits and say when I get down to $20 I will stop but do you? I write down on a piece of paper now what jackpot I reach I will withdraw at and keep to it.

Pace of gaming is important I always try to keep to the same pace so that I dont do anything stupid it is easy when $100 up to gamble much bigger than usual. Always remember only gamble what your prepared to lose! Blackjack always gets me in this way throwing down bigger and bigger stakes in proportion to my account balance until I lose it. When you get your gambling psychology strategy good you find you do alot better without any stupid losses!

Ouch Bash :eek2: you have my sympathies, I too can know what its like to get so frustrated you deposit again and again and again chasing. fortunately ive only ever chased once and learned my lesson. I hope you do so too :)

My biggest was not that long ago, around 8K in total losses that night - and the worst part was I withdrew 7 of them... Starting balance was around 3000 euroes, but I was above 8000 So I could have had 8K - but blew it.

2 years or so, I ble 5K in Spin Palace one night in hard cash - pure deposits during the night! That hurt like hell I must tell you! There are no limits on how much you can loose aslong as you increase the wagering.

My highest turnaround was winning over 20K in a single day, and then losing it back again the next evening, and pretty quickly too, due to chasing through a persistent "MG Suck" patch.
Having too much money from a big win readily available can be dangerous. I am more inclined now to request a withdrawal of any large upswing from Neteller, such that it becomes unavailable for several days while it moves through the banking system and onto my cards, which cannot be used to make huge deposits of several K in a single day.
Even so, I still manage to play on for too long after a serious winning streak, and usually this is because I am chasing a higher score in a wagering tournament. My series of huge wins posted recently on winner screenshots are PAYOUTS, they do not represent me actually having gone many tens of thousands ahead. Winner screenshots are just highlights of a session, many wagers give results that are not worth posting. The screenshots tend to be of wins that are well above what might be expected, such as hitting something big during a slots bonus round, or hitting a very good pat hand in VP, such as a top paying 4OK in the Double Double bonus poker, or getting a few top paying wins on a slot while also betting high (for a change:rolleyes:).
When looking at these screenshots, look at the STAKE, not just the payout, before allowing jealousy and greed to kick in. It's pretty easy to get a bonus round of several K while betting well over 50 on a slot, far more remarkable is getting this amount from a truly awesome hit while betting relatively low, such as my 5 scatters on Spring Break for over 4K while betting only 2.70 - they hit DURING the free spins:D

Thanks, i know its pretty obvious but it is worth reminding everyone ( me in particular) the winners screenshots are just individual wins and not profits!

Don't forget you can ask any decent casino to set a deposit limit, either daily, weekly or monthly. If you do this at a Wagerworks casino (you can do it through the account page yourself), you can't "up" it again for 7 days. Good policy.

Never quite that much but I remember winning $17k at Roxy once and losing $9k back which is probably my biggest daily loss. Now I do the "cash and go" with 1hr or no reverse...that's what it taught me!

Totally agree...they are the exceptions, not "the norm" I stopped posting in there unless its from a session i physically win at. Otherwise I think it's misleading, but it is a good fun thread.

My biggest loss was a Sportsbook bet. I did bet about $10k on Real Madrid to win against a unknown team. they did lead 1-0, but unfortunately on the 90th minute the other team scored the 1-1, and I lost. Bad Luck!

I wouldn't count "losses from a temporary high" in my playstyle. I'm usually deposting and cashing out pretty quickly, and I usually quite as soon as the WR is completed.

Looked through some transaction history... looks like about $2000 (spread on five deposits on one night).

My biggest loss is 1500$ USD, but fortunately I win the same amount, too.

Gambling is losing and winnings, we just have to find the best strategy to leave the table always with something more :)

I use to play with 100$ and leave the table once i got 200$ or I lost all, until now it works

Dang, and here I was thinking that loosing $35 in one night was a terrible thing.
I need to do some changing around to my budget sheet to increase that in the near future :p

That's why live bets are so popular as you can hedge your bets and enjoy the game. Some people would, where live bets are available opt to throw $2k for the draw with 20 minutes of play and then relax.

Ive came home drunk and lost 2K+

Woke up and it slowly dawned on me.

Then with a hangover I worked out what I would have spent the money on..

Ive lost it sober.

Ive played better (poker)

Missed the money, ouch.

But it wasnt as bad.

My answer to that is, when you win money you like, cash it in (save some for later) & leave the site untill you collect. Think of material things. Internet money is nothing. We gamble for gamblings sake. Put an image on your next bet, like a new TV, and watch your next spin gambling it away or press the collect button and wait for your cheque to pay for it.

I was a compulsive gambler, I used to get the sweats. I was too far gone, the GA could never have helped me. I am self taught. I have a bookmakers 40 yards from my house, it doesnt hinder me. I have fallen off the gambling tracks the odd day, drink related. There is an easy solution, gamble on your own talents & only gamble money you can afford to lose.

Now I quit gambling because I am playing crap. When I am playing good I keep a value on those internet chips, cash out and buy something I want.

I am no longer a compulsive gambler. Play as if you are the favorite, if in your heart you dont think you are the favorite to win, then you are still gambling. STOP!!!

biggest was about 500.00 between 3 casinos. I only went a bit crazy because it was funds I had won a couple of days before. in land casino, maybe about 600.00

Can you imagine what could have happened if you had gone really crazy?

The thought just makes me shudder....:p

This is bad...

When US players could play at Playtech sites, I hit a Royal Flush playing Jacks or Better at Golden Palace Casino on a $5 bet for $4k, so I went up to $5 chips, $25 a hand and 10 hands later hit another Royal Flush in the same session of Jacks or Better for an additional $20k. Less than 1 week later, at GrandOnline Casino, Golden Palace's sister Playtech site, after hitting 4 of a kind with a $5 bet, I hit the Royal Flush playing Jacks or Better again after bumping the bet to $25 a hand. Another $20k. I was receiving checks at $4k per week for 5 weeks. This was in sept 2005. By Dec I had lost all of that PLUS another $400
k with some night's losses topping $15k. All US$.

You are brave!

You really are brave for sharing that story.

Thanks,
BB

Maybe one day I'll share mine about not quitting when wildly, crazy, ahead on a 20 dollar deposit. You wouldn't believe!

I don't have a problem with limiting my deposits, it's just that I didn't quit when I was way ahead....greedy I guess. More........more........more!

Still.......kicking my own a**. and hanging my head in shame.....I need to do that for a while!

On a happier note...

I lost $10K at UKCasinoClub.com yesterday BUT I had downloaded the casino here at the accredited casino list, deposited $80 and waived my 1st deposit match bonus asfter gaining a balance of $300. By the next day, I had requested a withdrawal of $10k and the casino is sending me 4 courier checks of US$2,465.00 each, 1 per day. The cashin cap is $10/week and my balance was $15k at the time I cashed in. The balance of $5 rose to $10 til I lost it. All on $80 deposit. :yahoo: See my screen shots here.

Some of the figures here indicate that most likely some people are inflating the numbers like this..................

I deposit $200.00 and start playing slots. Make some great hits and I'm up to $7,900.00 ! Keep playing and give it all back!

I lost $200.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not $7,900.00

I think some people are using the figure that was their high point in a session. I don't think that's what this thread was meant to ask.

Yah, I'd say plowing through wagering requirements wouldn't count... but dumping money that is spendable is lost money me thinks.
How ya doing gaahl?

duh, I dunno, you guys sort it out I gots to go get my dinner.

Hello lojo

My point is. If you have won money up to 7900$, you own those 7900$ and could cash them out. Therefor if you loose the 7900$ you loose 7900$ of your own money.

Im not here to raise a fight tho, I see your point. I just didnt agree to your statement. :)

As far as Tim's concept, sure I can dig it.. but; the dishwasher in detroit who saves up $20 for three weeks and loses it got hurt a lot more than the accountant from LA who strips 10k out of their 'discretionary' account - so moot.

And for Gaahl's concept, sure, I can dig it.. but; it just doesn't hurt as much to throw away digital dollars you've never handled when you didn't have to pearl-dive or push a pencil to get them - so moot again.

So you're both right and you're both wrong and Tim doesn't give a f*ck anyway :D (my now famous dinner was goulash made with sausage... what was she thinking?..strange but good)

Just lost 710 playing with 60-80c bets on 32RED today...

Most ridicilous gaming session ever. Im never gonna play on microgaming again as long as I live... On average it took 400 spins to get a free spin feature, I had only one win that was 100x. I just feel fucking gutted.

Wonder what my payback persentage was, cant have been even 50%....

Microgaming is ridicilous.

I made a deposit of 25 big ones (which for me is $25.00).

Played for a bit, got it up to about $2000.

Then though let's bet a bit bigger. I increased my coin size from $0.01 to $0.05.

15 minutes latter all gone, no bonus round, no nothing during the whole play.

After I punched my mouse into my cat I came to my senses.

Seriously, never increasing bet sizes again.

f*ck microgaming, and f*ck that dealer at 3Dice... I'm going to rtg and get a little 'rip off the other guy and pass the savings onto you' action... nah f*ck them too.

I freaking hate to lose a bunch quickly like anyone else... happens to the best and worst of us. grrrr

Lost $1K on Ladbrokes last week with only 1 feature on Thunderstruck worth under $100 (Can't remember off the top of my head). Spat the dummy and will never be playing there again. :D

......and you are only up the road from MG by the looks of it!

The Catherine Tate characters Janice and Ray put it quite nicely:

"The evil dirty robbing bastards!"

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I made this disappear in a few hours back in the good ole days-(Hell would have just spent it at the Rhino so it is all good) my ass:o:o:o
