Question Betway - any problems?

Hello, new member here.

I joined Betway via mobile last month and had a nice win on slots yesterday (mid 4-figures). Obviously delighted, I withdrew the balance and it is currently in 'reversible' status. I spoke to Betway on chat and on the phone and asked if it would be helpful if I sent in my ID now to help speed up the process. I sent across my ID and they confirmed on the phone it had been received and, all being well, funds would be transferred to me on Mon/Tues next week, once my ID has been reviewed.

I've now seen many horror stories on various websites where people have said that Betway have confiscated winnings for a variety of reasons. Though I see they are accredited here. Does anyone use Betway regularly? Are they ok? The people I spoke to on the phone were very helpful and I see Betway is a major company, advertising on TV and sponsoring big races. Are these horror stories a thing of the past? I'd quickly worked through the bonuses soon after I joined last month and my recent big win was purely from my own cash that I deposited that day (no bonuses applied). I looked at the terms and read fully and can't see that I've flouted any rules so am sure I will get my winnings with no problems. Am just looking for reassurance after seeing lots of people's reports about having winnings taken away.

Any advice appreciated. I have taken screenshots of the site showing my pending withdrawl and have a transaction history. Am just panicking as I've never won this much before!

As long as you are not multi-accounting so this is your only membership, and you haven't bet any spins in excess of the stipulated maximum if you took a bonus you should be OK.
You did right in getting your KYC in before they ask, as this may speed things up. They are a reputable site so don't worry.

They are legit. Especially playing without a bonus, when you can bet whatever the hell you want on any game you want!
They are accredited here at CM as well, which means they are more reputable than average.
The "horror" stories you heard most likely relate to bonus "abuse", scammers and multi-accounters.
I really don't think you have anything to worry about.

Thank you both. If all goes smoothly I'll continue playing with Betway, mobile site is one of the smoothest I've used.

I did reverse a previous win and ended us losing that, so won't be doing that again!:)

I made the withdrawal at around 1am this morning and they have said that due to 48hrs reverse time, it will be processed on Monday/Tuesday due to the weekend.

I've been playing and making regular deposits at Betway for 5 years or more, sometimes with a bonus, sometimes without.

On the rare occasions I've made cash outs, never any problems and always in the bank on the day I was expecting it. (Don't think I've ever sent in doc's either)

Nothing at all to worry about from what I can see and the other guys have said but a friendly 'heads up' you dropped lucky with your phone call cos their CS ain't the best (thread on here some where about them) and It may just be me but I've had a few problems with making deposits (freezing, voiding Ukash vouchers and not crediting etc) which have took a while to sort.

Also when I did a 'breakdown' of my wins and losses over the last 3 years (ish) Betway TRTP and withdrawals were by far the lowest across over 10 casinos I play online. It seems I regularly catch my coldest spells and lose regular here (keep going back cos they offer decent deposit bonuses and keep thinking can't lose at Betway everytime!)

Probably means nothing but no harm in sharing personal experiences...Hope this helps

Totally agree, the guys n gals on here are very helpful / approachable. I did consider myself to be pretty experienced, but since using CM regularly, every day's a school day!!

Just an update from me - this morning my 48hr withdrawal reversal period expired so I went to log on to check the status of my account and couldn't log in as my username/password was not recognised! Immediately panic set in and I called Betway. They informed me that my account had been closed! After confirming that I had not requested this, the operator reinstated my account. She said that she would check my withdrawal and that is in now in processing. She reassured me that the account closure was an accident and that my withdrawal would still have been processed regardless. She also confirmed all my documents have been received and approved.

I've since been on the online chat support and have been told that everything is OK, documents approved and I will get an email when the funds have been released back to my card today. They even said that if I did not receive an email by 2pm then I should get back in contact. The chat finished with the operator stating that "I am certain it will be there by Friday".

I've been very impressed with the customer service at Betway - the people on the phone and on the online chat have been very helpful and reassuring. They have all congratulated me on my win and seem genuinely happy to help. Not sure why they thought I wanted to close the account as I have never asked for that, but they have sorted that out very quickly. Will be keeping an eye on my email today and hopefully see my winnings in my account some time this week :)

Never in a million lifetimes of online gaming did I think I'd read 'very impressed with the customer service at Betway' glad everything went well, congrats on your win and good luck for more!!

If you check back you will see on an old thread I had problems with them. Like you I found their support great but I had to wait 10 days to get £1,700 but I got it alright and that was June 2013. Rest easy my friend, you will get paid out by the end of the week :thumbsup:

Hi all, just to close off this issue (may be comforting to future users of Betway)...

I have today received my winnings. My total withdrawl was for just over £6,000*. This was split into 2 payments (Betway support had already informed me this would happen).

So the timeframe was:

  • Initial Withdrawal on Thursday morning
  • 48 hour withdrawal reversal period ends on Monday morning (weekends not included in 48hr period)
  • Withdrawal processed the same day (Monday) back to Visa Debit card
  • Winnings appear in bank account Wednesday afternoon.
  • Total time frame from initial withdrawal to receipt of winnings: 4 business days.

* I'll post my screenshots in the other forum at some point - this included two winning spins of £1250 each within a couple of minutes of eachother :)

All in all I've been very impressed with Betway. After reading some of the stories on this and other forums, I was very worried - but I have found them to be absolutely fine. The people on their chat support have been friendly and reassuring and have provided all of the info I have requested throughout the withdrawal period. It's not the quickest pay out, but more than acceptable in my opinion. I'll happily continue using Betway.
