Hi everyone,
Apologies on not reaching out earlier - I've spent the night at the server rooms. So, what happened?
We simultaneously did a launch campaign offering hefty NDB's, an on-line media paid campaign and - the baptism had started. As an operator of MGS, they allocate the bandwidth and server capacity based on our usual traffic flow with predefined spike allocation - the traffic flow coming from our casino ID has went up 60-fold last night and the allocated servers and bandwidth simply hadn't kept up.
Increase in balance calls and failed user calls (what you see as Error 2) have loaded the site and front end servers also causing a terrible experience. We've learned a lesson the hard way that there is a such a thing as "too much marketing" unfortunately and I'd really like to apologise to all users that have wasted their Friday night trying to play the games.
We've expanded the front-end capacity and MGS is increasing the balancers which also entails some tinkering with security and databases so unfortunately as its not a "switch" I'm keeping the site in maintenance mode until we complete a hefty stress test and ensure we can take the increased load without any debilitation to end user experience.
So what now? Everyone that has logged in on Friday will get welcome back NDB pack - any depositing players from the night will have individually been contacted about additional real money comps. I'm really sorry that anyone who looked forward to trying a new casino out had to waste your Friday on this and everyone new that is waiting for baptism to take its course before they choose to sign up or not, please give us a day to get our IT infrastructure expanded to service you seamlessly. I expect another 12 hours to 24 hours of set up and stress testing at which point we'll open doors again.
Anyone feeling particularly wronged, please drop me a message on here and I'll ensure those feelings don't harbour with you for long. Again, I'm very sorry for the mishap - out of all things, the traffic itself beat us, however I'm fairly certain it will not be happening agian :/
I wish you all a very pleasant weekend.
Igor
This is the first time I have ever heard a concrete explanation for all these "casino error x" issues that afflict gaming sessions from time to time. It seems that MGS is throttling the bandwidth with limits based on past traffic. It makes a change from always being told to "contact your ISP", "switch off your anti virus" or other such BS that is the usual result of such a query.
I had always thought it to be a bandwidth or capacity issue at "their end", rather than with my ISP or computer.
I am going to presume that the infernal problem of "server lag" on those Microgaming tournaments has a similar cause, throttling at "their end" (Microgaming), rather than my PC or ISP.
Rather than hit the customers of operators who have mounted a good marketing campaign, or the players of an MPV that has proven to be "too popular", Microgaming should invest in more capacity across the board, and a dynamic system in place to cope with such spikes before customers suffer a frustrating experience, and perhaps consider the casino they tried as a "dud".
Not sure where you've been vinyl.
I knew this stuff ages ago.....?
Nice lyrics Paaske.
I thought it was going to be a song though?
All I heard was a cacophony of amplified intestinal sounds made by a talentless git and a class one dumbass.

I knew, but it's nice to have it admitted in writing by a Microgaming casino rep. It makes it a bit easier to put pressure on MGS to do something about it.
The BIGGEST problem is with the MPV tournaments, where "server lag" isn't merely an annoyance, it can cripple a players' ability to get a fair chance at the top prize. Whenever the complaints have been made over tournaments, the response has always been that the problem is with the user's kit or their internet connection.
Often, the reply starts with "you are the first/only player to report this problem", which is followed by suggestions like turning off firewalls and anti-virus software, or even complain to the ISP (who in turn will blame the website or server hosting the game).
At least now this finding can be quoted back to casinos who try to pass the buck over such problems.
With MPV, it had reached the stage where some players were accused of cheating, and the casinos deliberately turning a blind eye.
It now seems likely that the choice of skin for a particular MPV event is what makes the difference, with these successful players having found the least laggy skin. This could either be a very large operator with plenty of bandwidth from MGS, or a casino so "niche" that what little bandwidth it has is so underutilised that there is plenty left for MPV.
MPV doesn't tend to generate "casino error x", but just boots one off the MPV server altogether.
thanks, had a bit of fun on the 25
fyi, the game ran like molasses though
Error 2 every 2 spins. Apparently still not fixed. What a nightmare.

Agree getting bit of them as well now. Though not every 2 spins
