I've seen multiple people recently complaining that they can't upload pictures anymore. These were coming from vets so it's not supposed to be limited.

Just making sure that you are aware :)

Yeah, he did say (or Max did) in another thread Friday that a Linux issue was being addressed by Webczas. Obviously hasn't been resolved then, I haven't tried to upload since then.

It was Bryan that mentioned the Linux problem but FTR I've been having the same problem as the rest of you. No one should take this personally, it's just a (temporary) system glitch.

I've upgraded the thread title to make it clear what the issue here is.

BUMP!
C'mon guys, I know it's Christmas & New Year and all that - but to some of us this is a SERIOUS problem which effects our enjoyment of the forum.
5 days after it was reported and STILL nothing has been done to fix it???

Most folks will have free webspace provided as part of their ISP package, check out their FAQ pages or give them a call to see how you can utilise it - it's just one of those things that you never need to use usually :)

I'd imagine the backend databases for Casinomeister are pretty scary (I used to admin a vBulletin forum myself), and they can break in all kinds of strange ways!

Seriously KK? 5 days over the holday season and you're gonna break our balls for it?

Bryan's been in Hawaii with his family, Webzcas is hard to reach at the best of times, and I don't have access to, nor knowledge of, the back-end stuff. What do you expect us to do, wave a magic wand? Unfortunately vBulletin is firewalled against magic wand attacks.

I know this upload thing is a PITA but it's not a serious hurdle to posting pics if you are determined to do so. I ran into the same problem as the rest of you, found and implemented a work-around in about 20 minutes. Second time around it didn't even slow me down.

If anyone cares here's what I did:
  • sign up at imgur.com and verify the new account: 5-10 mins at most.
  • upload to imgur: 5 mins, if you're playing with the cats at the same time.
  • find and copy imgur's "Direct Link (email & IM)" for your image: 30 seconds. (you want a direct link, the thing ending in .jpg, for the next steps)
  • write your post on CM and were you want the image click on "Insert Image" in the editor toolbar: couple minutes, maybe.
    .
    HQWdQEr.png
    .
  • drop in that direct link from imgur: 30 seconds.
  • save your post as you normally would: 30 seconds if you've forgotten where the "Save" button is.

Voila! You're done and your image appears where you want it. Easy Peasy. Next time you want to post a pic repeat the last few steps -- couple mins (at most) over and above writing your post -- and it's done.

It was first reported on here a week ago Friday (10 days ago) I believe. I must admit I was boiling up when attempting to get my glory-shot of my 4-reel shitstorm uploaded earlier.......

P.S. Sorry Max for the string of expletives I used to express my frustration. Double-dose of Tourette's Tablets duly swallowed.

Outrageous! Unacceptable! Bring me the thumbscrews!

Ah, no worries. Go forth and sin no more.

I think the best solution is
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

No registration, no hassle. Just browse for your picture and upload. It even has the code ready to copy and paste for forums.

Wow was that really KK flipping out:eek::D.

Mind you I have quite a few screenshots to post from clubworld as their slots were going crazy the last week or 2 so kind of hope this gets fixed.

I am also unable to upload pictures have tried jpg, jpeg, gif, png etc and under the size limits. It says its uploading but then there is just a red X.

This is entirely my fault KK. If anyone needs to be lambasted over this, it is me. I disabled the uploading of files via php on the server, not realising it would affect image attachments here on the CM forum. :(

FWIW, Bryan has been pinging me for a while now to get this resolved. Unfortunately due to the backend setup, I can only access the linux backend from my office to make the necessary change, which is where I am now. ( 9pm on a Sunday evening ).

Many apologies to all, for the inconvenience this has caused you all.
