Hello this is my first post as a newbie so please bear with me. In the past I have had a lot of mental health issues which have manifested in my gambling on online casinos. I have lost considerable sums of money which has in turn made my mental health much worse. On Boxing Day last year I found my dear wife dead and this has had a devastating effect on my life. I decided to self exclude myself from any casino sites by registering with Gamstop, which has up until now proved successful.

Two weeks ago I decided to again test the self-exclusion by trying to sign up to various casino sites but each time I was unable to. That is apart from 888 casino which again using the same details allowed me to sign up and deposit money. Needless to say I again have lost considerable sums of money. Yesterday I had an email from 888 suspending my account due to the following

This is the Operations Team at 888casino and we are contacting you with regards to your account with username "

As this account is related to other accounts that have been closed across our network for Responsible Gaming reasons, we have temporarily suspended your membership.

We also ask you to refrain from opening any new accounts with us, as these will also be closed and any deposits may not be returned.

Anyway my question is this I have been a member with GameStop since February 2018 and have been unable to sign up to any casino website that is until 2 weeks ago. Now as 888 is part of the GameStop why have they only just suspended my account, after allowing me to deposit and lose large sums of money. I have not replied to the email above from the operations team and would appreciate any help as to what I should do next

regards

A related rogue casino, 777.com, is reviewed here.

I am sorry for the loss of your wife Freddy. I think you were wise to self-exclude, as I too have been least in control when grieving.

I would first write and ask the casino to refund the deposits. I doubt they will, they are listed as a Rogue Casino, and I do not not think they respond to complaints through CM, but you could ask @maxd , the Player Complaints manager before you go to the effort of filing a PAB.

Hopefully a UK player will chime in with another solution.

Complain to the Gambling Commission. If they want a UK Licence, they need to take it seriously.

Thanks for your comments. As I have not yet responded to 888 shall I contact them first to complain and if so what should I say to them as an argument. Any reply would be much appreciated

Get a copy of your gamstop details in PDF from Gamstop or ask them to send to Operations at 888. Then email saying you are Gamstop registered and should not have been able to open an account.

I don't get one thing who can casinos have so much power just take your money when you did nothing bad, I feel scared to play any longer as every deposit I do casinos can take my money without explaining, looks like they stole you money

888 are worst casino to have a problem with it. They won't refund you. They blame you. I read many stories about them online.

888 were massively fined by the UKGC and went on to refund tens of thousands of players over the space of six months. All excluded players received a letter and then a cheque with all deposits made while excluded on a sister site.

I would never recommend anyone playing at a 888 site after their troubles, but they do these days take a more firm approach to responsible gambling and reverse transactions when it is flagged.

I provided him with an outlined email to send to 888 and I think he will get it back as long as the story checks out around his Gamstop registration.

Hi all,
This is my first post so bear with me, please.
My name is Peter and just contact you as I need advice, please.
The short cut story is that the same I was registered with Gamstop in June(6 months) and due to my father's past away recently I start gambling again. I managed somehow to register an account with 888 casinos when no other casino would accept me. I start to deposit than received an email saying that my deposit hasn't been approved due to some interdiction on my account and to call them to sort out this. I didn't call them but then in an hour looking again in my account I've seen that the deposit actually been approved(I only deposit 100). My account hasn't been check, no id been requested.
I start to play and start to lose and deposit 200 which went ok. But when tried to deposit 500 the deposit didn't go straight away, looking at my bank account app actually my money didn't go so I start to deposit again 500, again didn't go tried about 4 times and the same. I did stop and after two hours lo in again to my account I've seen 2000. First I thought it was a bonus, to be honest, but looking at my bank app 2000 gone out of my account.
I lost them in a couple of minutes and again tried to deposit but now gone even to 1000 the same money would go after a few hours in my account. So I lost around 5000 in that night. My app also been blocked and did tried to what been happened but couldn't know. I only say that I am a stupid man who can't control himself.

After two days on my brother's advice contact them on Chat and ask them to help me get my deposits back as I read on their website that they promote Gambling Protection and are registered with Gamstop. I also ask them to close my account and inform them that I register with Gamstop from June. Then the lady from the chat provides me an email, I think is the support team and advice to write them an email. She said that she cant help me. She did close my account and withdraw the 334 left from my account.

It's a week since I first email them and after I wrote several emails but didn't receive any response back. Why they don't want to respond to me. This is killing me, I start to have suicidal thoughts about this all.
What Can I do? Are any chances to get my money back? For many maybe are not a lot this 5K but for me are the economies for the last 5 years.
The Gamstop details are the same use on 888 account, date, address, email, name, etc.
Does anybody get money back from them?

Please let me know if you need any other information.

Many Thanks,
Petrica Negru
