YouTube - they did it again. Banning Slot Reviews

Some sore losers of the "it's rigged!!1" crowd decided to make shit up about streamers and got all the channels closed. It's easy, just write all your conspiracy theories to YT; they'll jump on the safe side, believe you and close the channel. Especially on a sensible topic like gambling. Troll could say that he was lied about playing and winning and YT isn't going to watch countless hours of videos to see if it's true or not. Much easier to pull the plug on the channel.

Just reading YT comments on most gambling channels could drop your IQ by 50 points.

Bandit was the first to promote gamban and other stuff, he showed his bank account, showed that he lost more than 100k last year, showed how much he made with affiliates. There was no streamer more transparent than him on Youtube and trolls still managed to get him banned. Shameful.

Craig slots was the only one I followed and subscribed too because he kept it real to begin with and for some reason I really rooted for him to do well. In recent times he diverted from realistic bets to max betting then ended up concentrating on buy in bonuses at max bet on the one slot again and again. It seemed as if the higher his subs got the less he catered for his viewers.
No wonder they cracked down on those who appeared to gamble irresponsibly, even if they where vocal about responsible gambling.

It has nothing to do with "responsible gambling". If it was, a channel such as the one by a streamer called Roshtein would have been gone by now if it was Youtube's' policy.

As Dunover already indicated in an earlier post, we're talking about a group of jealous, sore losing ex gamblers that are blaming all but themselves for their woes. They are a nasty bunch, I personally have had personal violent threats from them, hence part of the reason I no longer stream or produce videos.

I watched many Dunover videos and liked them but I do agree gambling should be banned from Youtube, problem is not everyone is banned so the rules are a joke. Ban them all or ban none.

Why?

There is far worse content on YT; content that is far more likely to corrupt, incite violence, or even just cause freakin' nightmares that makes gambling related stuff seem like kiddies at play.

I guess the underlying question now is what exactly is the purpose of YT, as it has long moved past its original music/video streaming core. YT appear to be trying to impose a set of very questionable rules on everyone, through their inexplicable purges.

Censorship, thy name be YT.

I do agree though that the rules are a joke.

It has nothing to do with being targeted either, it's just simply being caught in the system of clean up and many others will follow soon i'm sure. Next stop is banning them off Twitch as that is another site designed for kids so what the hell is gambling doing on it??
2018 the scurge of the snowflake, "ban this ban that" "think of the children". How I wish we could go back to the 80s or 90s when snowflakes like Nut Nut were laughed away.

I find your assessment hard to reconcile. If these 'jealous losers' have grounds to flag content as inappropriate then that is how YouTube works. You and I will very likely have differing opinions on what we deem as inappropriate. That's fine. We can choose to flag content bases on our views and that is also fine. But flagging something as inappropriate simply means YouTube will review the content and make a judgement call based on their terms of service.

If this situation is really about people flagging content as inappropriate then in this scenario YouTube are consistently siding with the complaints. Why? Because they hate craigslots and co or maybe, just maybe, they feel it's not appropriate content for their platform.

Suppose I setup a group of 'sore and jealous kitten haters' and when around trying to remove cat videos by mass reporting as inappropriate. Do you think I could get channels shut down by simply doing mass reports? I think this is unlikely as the content is most likely just banal and harmless. But can you say the same about the nature of gambling content.....? I'm not so sure.

With respect, I know the type of individuals that are behind this. I know exactly what is happening and why they are doing it and the lengths they will go through in their "campaign".

Audio copyright infringements are auto detected by Youtube as you upload the video. Anything else relies on it being reported to Youtube. It has nothing to do with "responsible gambling" or gambling per se. They found a way to get these channels closed and they are very selective on what channels they are targeting. Why are non affiliate gambling channels not being closed? That is the crux of the matter. These people detest affiliates making money off the back of gamblers losing at casinos. It really is as simple as that.

Exactly it only takes one disgruntled person these days to get social media owners quaking, look at Facebook taking down innocent pictures of family children claiming they are somehow against their rules because a person may have seen them or someone thinks a video is promoting a certain extreme group. Social media is very wary at the moment of backlash so it will only take one person to get them looking at someone's account.

I had a silly argument on twitter a month or so ago because our water supply was not working and the local area were all tweeting the water company one person decided to take offence at me on Twitter and decided to go to my Youtube account and have a look, mock my videos and thumb them all down, the argument wasn't even about my Yotube they just decided to nosey about, it only takes one person to start something

The vaping community have experienced the same thing. With many popular vaping channels shut down. The link is paid promotion and affiliation.

If you use affiliate links you have to declare your videos as paid promotion. Hence all the popular vape channels are clearly doing so now.

Dunover definitely appeal - it is worth a shot.

Streaming sites are for kids? There are plenty of adult related content on Twitch that has nothing to do with gambling such as video games... Are video games for kids too? No.

When I stream, I set the "You must be over 18 to watch this" flag so the first thing anyone does when seeing my channel for the first time is that they have to accept that this is adult content.

Youtube is losing the plot they are now going to put warnings under any video which denies the existent of climate change. So anyone who disagrees with climate change gets their video entry interfered with a warning, freedom of speech and freedom to do as we want is quickly being eroded what next Dunover uploads a video of a NetEnt review and Youtube put a warning underneath, NetEnt experts disagree this game is crap and don't listen to what this person says".

About affiliate links for Youtube channel, the best way to get around it is to create a fake youtube account and post and pin a comment ( with your affiliate content) under your own video. See picture below (This way it works at the moment)

That's a fair work-around, but I'm sure that YouTube have an Algorithm that would pick that account up as spamming and all comments would become invisible to others apart from the actual user.

Rob :)

I've just checked out Craigslots YT account and it appears that he has not removed his own vids. "This video has been removed for violating Youtubes community guidelines".

RetroArcadeMachine had his channel closed by Youtube a few weeks ago.
And all he did was mostly stream play on emulated fruit machines with the odd live amusement arcade stream thrown in.
But at one point last year, he did have a lot of trolls and a lot of thumbs downs on his streams.

Yep. That's what happened to me, then the next strike will come in the coming few days and it'll be 'game over'. Once the first strike occurs, the end is nigh.

He was also on the hitlist I mentioned above, like myself and the Bandit etc. Interlog will confirm I'm sure, but there is an aggressive and often unpleasant campaign going on.

The first post on the below linked topic elsewhere contains some of that hit list:

There was another topic about streamers / slot video producers before that over on that forum.

And yes, the campaign is very unpleasant.

I couldn't make it past the 1st paragraph as my blood was already boiling. People like that are the reason why governments are piling rules and laws one of top of the other. Some people were enjoying making videos, I was enjoying watching them and now I can no longer do it because some massive asshole didn't like the videos and isn't adult enough to take responsibility for what he does. Fuck him.

I have just been looking through Youtube.
You seen this Mark?

They can still make the videos. You can still watch them. What they cannot do (seemingly) is use the YouTube platform to distribute their content.

Try to keep some perspective.

Were you forced to watch them on Youtube? If not what difference does it make to you if they are available elsewhere?

My point is a platform owner retains the right to determine what content can and will be hosted and distributed on their platform. For example casinomeister forbid the hosting of certain types of content on their website and that is perfectly acceptable. If you don't like it you can always go elsewhere right?

Nobody is stopping anyone making videos. Just certain content creators are no longer welcome on certain platforms. No big deal. Go find another platform or build your own.
