Weird noises

Those sounds could have been taken directly from a movie I just watched couple weeks ago. Religious fanatics get holed up in house after getting caught murdering people, FBI outside and big stand off. All of a sudden those sounds blare...fanatics believe it's the trumpets from heaven and give up thinking they are going to meet their maker.

Turned out, (in the movie) that it was a bunch of people from neighbouring farm who had a bone to pick with the crazies, so blared the sound of a horn over speakers to freak them out, knowing they'd put a religious association to it.

When I listened to the first video, it was identical track to the movie.

IF it's not a hoax (and trust me...going to try and find that movie so you have my reference to the sounds) would be hard not to put an other worldly spin on it.

Red State - Hell of a film;), as far as these sounds go there have been loads of reports of them.

Thanks for the film name was driving me batty.

And I've just spent long while on youtube looking thru. Alot of the vids are suspect, but have to admit when you put them all together and average the information out, is a little weird.

I'm just mad because I clicked on link that took me to a youtube vid about the 7 trumpets...I'm stressed now lol :eek2:

Yes, I am a hermit, because I have never heard of this before. And now I am obsessed...gee thanks Chayton.

I have spent the last few hours reading and going through videos...and like others, I agree that some of them are obviously fake/a hoax. However, there are some that I do believe...and the sheer numbers can't be ignored. I especially find the ones with dogs in them believable, as it's quite obvious that the dogs are hearing "something" and in some cases, are quite upset/bothered by it.

Some of the sounds remind me of "War of the Worlds" with Tom Cruise...some remind me of the Cloverfield monster. In any event, now my mind is racing, and because I am a true believer in life forms on other worlds or in other galaxies...well, you can imagine.

The thought that maybe our planet is finally "cracking apart" is even more scary to me than the thought of alien life forms.

I just don't know...and I sort of wish I hadn't seen this. The old OCD has kicked in again. :o

No need to worry, just my wife and I :xxx

*sigh* I'll tell her to keep it down!

People all over the world are reporting these weird noises from the sky, some people say it sounds like trumpets. 'They' say it could be caused by solar flares. It sounds like Godzilla or giant machinery moving. Weird huh?

Here's one from Alberta:

And its you chayton of all people with this remark. Dont blame it on godzilla, its you and your fiery breath.:p

You know its odd, I had not heard about this until reading about it here, so I checked out the videos. The wierd thing is back a month it so ago there was the loudest noise outside at night, sort of like a roaring, only louder. Anyway, I live in a small area, but there is a highway close by so I thought it was a super loud truck, only roaring...anyway, I went outside and it was like it was coming from the sky. I wondered if it could be a storm coming yet the weather was not bad. I had no explanation for it yet I remember telling my friend about the noise. Now that I have heard this on YT and googled it, I'm questioning what I heard. It's kind of spooky.

Well, the first 3 were Canadian so we can chalk those up to horny moose.

By the way, when the moose are that horny don't be wandering around the bush saying "wtf is that noise?" You won't survive it's amorous affections.

Well supposedly this has been happening since 2011 - I hadn't heard anything about it til Ray saw it on the news. Once I started looking around I found all sorts of info on it.

I don't know if any of you guys have played Riven? The first time I heard one of the videos that's what I thought of, gaint rusty machines coming back to life. Or like Pina, I thought maybe that's the noise that the tectonic plates make when they're rubbing together. (Much like the noise Cleve and the Mrs make rubbing together?)

But whatever, it's pretty spooky. There's one video where these people are hiking out in the boonies and all of a sudden there's this huge loud thudding noise, almost like gaint footsteps. You keep expecting to see the trees falling down and something (Godzilla chu!) peering over.

BTW I love Godzilla, I've seen all his movies.

I came across these last week, I done a bit of research on it.

Some scientist claims that these are infrasounds caused by solar radiation bouncing off the earths protective shield...

but if this were the case, these noises would have been heard before?

I've been fascinated by strange natural phenomena sifrom the time I first saw a lightning fireball. It was a dark, dreary, stormy day outside. The windows were open because we didn't have air conditioning. :-) I was in the first grade and watched enthralled as a fireball entered an open window and danced in the heavy, humid air around the classroom above our heads, sizzling and sputtering, sparkling, spinning, glowing yellow and eerie green.... making all our hair stand on end (literally -- imagine the rub a balloon in your hair static electricity trick amplified to an entire room filled with children) and prompting squeals if it came near... only to see it explode, disappearing with a deafening boom. It lasted only seconds.... but it was amazing....

We lived on the North Carolina coast for a few years, often hearing (and feeling) strange booms and rumbles along with accompanying vibrations. You could feel something like a pressure in the air, vibration in the earth or the floor - sometimes dishes would tinkle or clink together. Very eerie -- but

These noises that Chayton has posted about have been heard before. Unfortunately, I can't find the old book with the specific reference. It was probably in something by Corliss on strange natural phenomena.

A list of Corliss's books can be found there.

The vid of the two guys in the woods... Canada?... with the boom, boom, boom like huge rocks falling (think Tetris with huge boulders) sounds fake, as if the sound were overlaid onto the video. But what do I know.

Thanks for the interesting post and links, Chayton!

Given that this probably happened many hundreds, if not thousands, of years ago, when humans were less intellectually developed, it could explain some of the incredible myths and legends of old that to us have us wondering how on earth they came into being.

I would also bet that powerful people in the past manipulated such scary phenomena for their own ends, much like religion has been used in the past.

The tectonic plates move about the same pace as your fingernails grow. That's slow - don't want to think about Cleveland. :p

I thought maybe you lived near Ft. Bragg. :p The A-10s during live fire are pretty awesome. They fire a gatling gun that sounds wicked; here's an example.

FWIW we've been in a period of pretty intense solar flares and radiation. You can watch the sun going about it's business in (close to) real time here:

The sun has cycles in which these CME's (coronal mass ejections) become more intense, these peak every 11 years, 2013 is the year when they become more intense, so we'll see what happens next year ;) (if these sounds become more intense)

Good point, but then one question arises, the people who might have used it for own purposes/winning, had no scientific explanations. It's easier to make a distinction between scholars/scientifically influenced people and others the latter centuries, but what was the difference then thousands of years ago. If some people sought explanations/sought comfort in religion. What were the other people like? Those who possibly gained from such phenomena? Interesting.

This is pretty interesting because last Sunday (not yesterday) there was a pretty strange noise happening around my house.

I live very close to a large lake, can see it from my yard, and am surrounded by pine trees. Any way I was outside working in the yard and a strange buzzing noise started. If you've ever walked in the woods and came up on a bee tree or lots of mosquitoes, that's what it sounded like only a million times louder.

Called my SO outside so he could here it. Then all of a sudden it quit.

Now I know machinery running, boat motors, generators, cicadas etc. and this was none of that. Sounded just like a giant hive of bees buzzing, coming closer and then nothing.

Kinda kept waiting for "The Swarm" to arrive but didn't happen. LOL!

The tectonic plates explanation is good, but it overlooks a major point, most of these noises are heard from above and the latest government scientist hypotheses is these are caused by the Northern Lights bouncing off and around magnetic aerials, how this can explain them not being heard around the areas the Northern Lights are seen (Scotland and Northern most) and yet, are being heard mostly in the USA, is beyond me .

There are also theories that it's HAARP (aka the HAARP WEAPON) that's causing the noises. Put on a foil hat and go take a look:

I remember reading a book (O-Zone/Theroux) where - among other things - they were using old tires to make mountains and control the weather. Now conspiracy theorists are hinting that HAARP is doing 'weather warfare', causing the tsunami in Japan last year, earthquakes - including the big earthquake in Haiti, plus all the other strange weather happening anywhere lately.

Also that it's run by the illuminati, they're practicing mind control, got hold of Tesla's death ray, the New Wold Order is using it to get rid of most of the world's population....etc etc.

But back OT, that it's HAARP that's making these noises and causing earthquakes and other stuff right afterward. Go do a search for HAARP on youtube and you'll get lots of hits, for those of you who like that sort of thing. :)

Have you seen the last video I linked in my UFO thread hun?;).

We lived at Calabash. Hubby was stationed at Myrtle Beach AFB. 'We' had lots of Wart Hogs, too! And a few F-16s. :-)

Very interesting thread chayton!
After looking at the videos and reading up on it, I chalk it all up to things just taking place in the atmosphere, be it echoes resounding off a barrier out there in the atmosphere or shifts taking place.
Alot of the occurances seem to have taken place around the same date...alot of which were in January.
Just my opinion of course :)
