Greetings folks. I havent been on the forums for awhile. But a recent incident just got to me so I really just want to vent lol! I have been with a certain casino for a few years now and though the majority of the time there havent been any problems, yesterday I ran into something I hadnt run into before.

I made a withdrawel ( a real small one, nothing major) but not really the point. They asked me for ID verification again. Saying that my ID has expired. I mean is this a new thing, thats happening with all the casinos? Or is this just another delay technique used to irritate customers?

Keep in mind, that I actually verified my account years ago. And have been using this casino for quite awhile. Thinking about it, even verifying my acocunt the first time was a major hassle. Photos werent clear enought blah blah. Probably took around 2 weeks first time I did it. Sending it tons and tons of documents. Proof of Id, address, bank cards etc

But I digress. Just last year, I was asked to prove my source of wealth. And again, another long process of sending in tons of documents etc to get my account unlocked yet again.

Now Ive been told my ID has expired and I need to send/upload more recent document proving I am who I say I am when ya would think the tons of document I've already sent previously should of been enough and its not like I've turned into a totally differnt person so I really dont see the point.

Honestly, is this a new thing now for casinos to ask for ID again if previous ID your've used for the last 3 years or so has expired? Just curious and peed off too be honest lol!

Some places ask some places don't ask. In my casino list is a one or two casinos who wants new ID
immediately after the previous one has expired. Others don't.

Happened recently to me at the ONLY place I play (verified years ago)

Turns out they did me a favour as it was my photo card driving licence which had expired, did not realise the 10 years they are valid for had flown by so quickly and I was driving around with an expired licence!

Whole situation frustrates me as you describe but the whole event only took a couple of hours and two or three brief visits to live chat (which I usually avoid like the plague!)

It wouldnt bother me, if it was a few hours turn over but its been like 3 days now!? The chat people told me from day 1, that they received the email with my updated ID and still nada!? No reply, no confirmation. Nothing...

No, it's not a new thing. A few years ago my passport and my driver's license expired within the same week. I was contacted immediately by a couple of casinos. Others didn't ask for updated ID until I tried to make a withdrawal. That's all fine with me - some casinos are more thorough than others.

But I digress. Just last year, I was asked to prove my source of wealth. And again, another long process of sending in tons of documents etc to get my account unlocked yet again.

What I am NEVER going to comply with is Source of Wealth requests. That's an immediate account closed. Assuming a player's account is free of suspicious money-laundering indicators, what possible reason would a foreign online casino have to ask for copies of personal bank statements and financial transactions? Even my local government-run casinos (both online and brick-and-mortar) have never asked me for SOW information when I win or withdraw larger amounts.

my id expires end of this month I start getting emails

Sick to the back teeth of all the ID,SOW,KYC shit, none of this existed before the UKGC got involved and none of it achieves
anything or protects the player.FFS , you work to earn money, pay taxes and want to participate in a legal pastime but
never get any peace, having to worry about how much you deposit , how much time you spend online, whether you will
get paid and when the SOW axe will fall. I am done with it all now its just not worth it
I Joined Mr Q a few months ago, seem like decent guys but couldnt win much there, gave up when losses reached 10k,
seems that is the trigger point for SOW as I got an email exactly the same time as I reached that loss level. To
be fair, i got very little hassle from them before then and realize they had to do it to conform with the regs.
Made the decision a few weeks ago that no casino ever gets any personal financial info from me again, its got fuck all to do
with the casinos, UKGC or anyone else apart from the taxman, If it means I cant play anywhere so be it,there is zero pleasure
in online gambling anymore.
Used to be so simple, you signed up with a casino, basic id checks were done, then you could play to your hearts content,
never had any problems getting paid, the bonuses were good and bad runs were often rewarded in some way.

Requests for new ID,SOWs etc seem to be(totally unconnected of course!!!) with a deluge of spam texts from dodgy casino outfits too.
