Ukraine Mess

This guy was a member of Ukraine parliement until Zelenski threw him in prison but he is highlighting that Zelenski has no mandate because the people do not support him and there is no elections after his term has passed.
So opposition is beginning to be heard.

Yeah, I watch this guy sometimes. I'm surprised he's still alive. He tells too many things about Ukraine's government. One thing worth noting is that many Western people don't know that being Ukrainian doesn't necessarily mean supporting Zelensky's regime.

As i understand it, the Russians view Zelensky as an expired president. They agree that there's 'no elections during military action', but according to the Ukrainian constitution, there are no ways to extend presidential powers once the 5 years have passed. Only through new elections.

Their point is who would sign the papers when it comes to deals between the countries. Because if the expired one leaves, the new one can simply chuck those papers in the bin.

Trump has stepped back from directly mediating peace talks between Putin and Zelensky.

I'm not sure if the papers here will tell that there are now 20 hours traffic jams at the Ukraine-Poland border, with young Ukrainians leaving to reshape Europe... Good for them.

View attachment 211017

They're all good now, but they should've left 2 years earlier when there was free cross border travel with a UA passport across Europe, plus it was simple to get cash/benefits in nearly every country... lol

Trump stated that Russia,China and India are conspiring against America but largely the media have just brushed over it.

BRICS which I mentioned a long time ago,is threatening America's hold over the worlds financial domination. Those 3 countries make up about half of the worlds population.

Given how much the USA and the EU have banked on distroying Russia how fucked can our counties suffer if they choose to use their powers?
Where does it leave American and EU's leverage and power?
My eyes are on the Balkans

The chess game seems at a critical stage in my eyes

What do you reckon?

The map looks real and certainly hasn't come out of the blue. Seems like it was created some time ago.

It was published this morning here: t.me/WeAreKillnet_Channel/367

To me, it seems like a plan of a coalition of the willing for their troops to be sent to Ukraine after the conflict ends. Blue squares and circles across the map probably show their planned positions and military installations.

In reality, it's unrealistic wishful thinking.

Sept 9, 2025. From one of the main Russian TG channels that cover the conflict:

ru-drones-pl.webp

Right now, one of the "Geran" drones is flying towards the Polish city of Rzeszów, where a huge logistics hub is located, through which the supply of Western weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is carried out.

▪️The Rzeszów airport — the main hub for arms supplies to Ukraine — has been urgently closed.
▪️The FlightRadar24 map roughly shows not only aviation activity but also the "Geran" drones over Poland.

t.me/RVvoenkor/99437

---

Here's what the Ukrainians think about these drones:

The Russians probably deliberately launched several "Gerbers"/"Shaheds" towards Poland, specifically on a course towards Rzeszów, to test the reaction of the Polish military leadership and NATO, as well as the public. Let us remind you, Rzeszów airport is the main logistics hub for Ukraine, which holds the largest share in the redistribution of military cargo. Constant blocking of such a strategically important facility could significantly affect our defense capability.

At night, the airspace over four Polish airports was closed, including over Rzeszów. The essence of the action is more or less clear: to create constant air pressure around the airport by launching the same "Gerbers" without warheads "somewhere there" or along the border.
Will there be a response other than "deep concern"? Unlikely.

One of the Russian drones in Poland:

gerbera-drone.webp

From the Russians:

According to our information, the item in this photograph, based on the serial number on the tail, was never equipped with a warhead. This device was launched as a decoy to overload Ukrainian air defenses in late spring of this year, and its further fate was unknown until today.

Apparently, the device was not hit by air defense systems and fell into enemy hands with minimal damage, after which it was delivered to Poland and carefully arranged for a photoshoot, as there is no slightest trace of a fall/"landing" of the UAV in the photo.

1. The Gerbera does not have such a flight range to be in this area.
2. The Gerbera in the photo is not a means of attack, and during the elimination of military targets in Ukraine, it serves as a decoy and distraction for Ukrainian monitoring groups; using it as a means of attack on targets in Poland is absolutely pointless.

I see X is buzzin now with "Article 5, Article 5".... Most of the posters don't even realize what it actually is.

Here is
You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.
, and below it is explained in plain language.

Article 5 does not obligate any NATO member to go "all-in" militarily. The document makes this quite clear.

Flexibility in response: Article 5 states that each member will take "such action as it deems necessary" - this gives individual countries significant discretion in how they respond. The assistance doesn't have to be military at all.

Individual determination: The document emphasizes that "each Ally is responsible for determining what it deems necessary in the particular circumstances." Countries consult with each other, but ultimately each nation decides its own contribution level.

Non-military options: The text explicitly states that assistance "is not necessarily military and depends on the material resources of each country." This was actually intentional - during the drafting in the late 1940s, the United States specifically didn't want to make an automatic military commitment and ensured this flexibility was reflected in the wording.

Real-world example: When Article 5 was invoked after 9/11, the responses varied widely - from intelligence sharing and overflight permissions to deploying AWACS aircraft over the U.S. Some measures were military, others were diplomatic or logistical support.

The goal is collective security, but NATO deliberately built in flexibility so that each country could contribute according to its capabilities and judgment rather than being locked into an automatic, all-out military response. This was a compromise that made the alliance politically feasible for all the founding members.

So from stopping the war in Ukraine in 24 hours and then saying that the country was fighting a pointless war, yesterday after listening to Zelensky, Trump did a 180 and said that Ukraine would be able to take their country back to its original form.

That's interesting talk... Because even Zelensky himself previously admitted Ukraine lacks the military power to retake all territories Russia seized since 2014.

Currently, Ukraine gets military support, ammo, and financial help from over 40 countries. Their foreign legion and other units number around 20k fighters from 70+ countries as of late August 2025 according to open sources.

Russia ran out of tanks, choppers, ships, missiles, bullets, morale is killed and everyone uses shovels to fight. That's been known since day 1. So who knows, maybe some of these muppets decided to give real help and actually jump in Ukrainian trenches?

Let's chuck this data here and see which way the numbers go in a month. According to Grok, they look like this (44,331 square miles):

I thought Trump set some sort of time limit a while back for negotiations to progress, it's hard to keep track of his threats, there was also something about upping the sanctions - by placing them on countries like India that buy from Russia.

By making this statement that Ukraine can take back everything, including presumably the Crimea, how is Russia going to feel confident about any peace treaty holding, and then 10 years down the road it's war again.

I see it this way. Trump is a businessman, and his goal is to make Europeans and anyone else buy everything from the US despite higher prices. Most of Europe is already dependent on US energy, except for a few countries that have their own. Weakening Russia has been the main goal of their rivals/enemies for decades.

So what's the point of Ukraine? Zelensky most likely said they can keep hitting Russia's gas stations and oil refineries, which can make many switch to American energy plus prevent further plans like Hungary getting Russia's gas and building their own pipeline to next door countries like Serbia.

Then Trump said cool, you're a good man. Keep buying more weapons from us. Zelensky said, ok, no worries, that's exactly what we need and Europeans have plenty of cash. But don't believe Putin, he's lying. Trump said ok geez, and went to write that babble to infuse them with spirit.

One of his funny phrases from a few days ago:

I don't want to profit from the war in Ukraine. But we do make money because they buy our weapons.

:D

---

I'd say it should end sometime in 2026-27, unless those hardcore Ukrainian nationalists or their supporters who profit from the war manage to drag an EU country or two into conflict with Russia.

Trump seems to parrot the last person he talked to on any topic. Devoid of original thought save for buissness issues.
He says "russia has been fighting aimlessly for 3 years when a real military power would have had it done within a week"
Does he forget Vietnam. The Affgan war? And Trump was a draft dodger?
He may be doing some things good for the USA but he is an utter wanker and stooge for a genocidal Country

If he thinks Russia could've gone in Israel-style, then yes, it probably would've taken a week. But otherwise, it's impossible. The country is full of ethnic Russians, and protecting them is one of the objectives of their SMO. Not sure whether he knows it.. There are also plenty of those who aren't pro Zelensky rules. So a bom-boom game doesn't work here..

I've been mulling over all those hrs I spent debating and defending Trump with Harry in the NK thread. Old H has ultimately been proved right, albeit for different reasons I feel.

DJT is like a whirling dervisher of bull s**t, but he can just drop in a bit of common sense logic here and there and sucker people back in. I don't think there's been anyone quite like him as a leader in the west, it is like putting a shady casino boss in charge.

Never understood Ukrainian logic behind stuff like this.

A couple of days ago, they put the Himars launcher in Kharkiv and started firing at the Belgorod thermal plant to cut their power. But what they expected after that is beyond me and looks damn stupid.

Moldova's elections a few days ago were clear before they even started. But today Andrej Babish won the Czech parliamentary election. He's one of the few European who doesn't want wars and stands for peace instead of things like ammo shipments to Ukraine. He puts Czechs first and wants higher wages for people, better pensions, and cheaper energy. Plenty of different characters think this is bad.

There is also rock & roll in Georgia...

Lviv, near the Polish border (on the left), was hit by roughly 20 missiles and dozens of Shahed-type drones last night. It appears to have been one of the largest attacks on the city since the conflict started.

It will get crazier... Yesterday, some Ukrainian officials warned people to prepare for upcoming winter events. It looks like the Russians have had enough of Ukrainians hitting their energy plants, so they've expanded their targets and are now firing at Ukraine's gas and power infrastructure. Still, i'd say Ukrainians will keep targeting Russia's energy spots.

For the Russians, their drones are like knowing there's a fly in a five bed house but you can't easily catch it. On the other side, the Russians have more powerful drones and all sorts of missiles that can hit anywhere in Ukraine. Ukrainian drones are small, but they're enough to hit spots that would catch fire even if you used matches. It's going to be tough.

It feels like the fighting on the ground is going through a pause phase (based on msm uk media). Which would make me think something bigger is being lined up by Russia, multiple areas to be hit to try and achieve breakthrough in one and cause a domino collapse. Drones hitting infrastructure would also aid an attack and hinder the Ukrainian ability to repel?

Yeah, they'll just sit in the same place and bomb with drones and aviation. Most of the ground fighting will happen in spots where there are buildings around. Plenty of bombing will happen once the leaves come off the trees and all the dugouts and trenches become visible from the air for recon drones.

I suspect that the nightmare would be if Russia concentrate on bombing enery centres leavinf Ukraine in the cold over winter?

Well it would be nuts. Destroying a city's power station beyond repair essentially means catastrophe. Just imagine you're cut off from everything that relies on electricity lol... They would need to evacuate people to places where there's power.

Anyway, Ukrainians last night hit Belgorod with HIMARS again, and after about an hour the Russians hit Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Zaporizhzhia. I don't get why the Ukrainians are doing this knowing that the Russians can send a few missiles back to their power stations. Or maybe they know that the Russians won't hit the stations or they just need something for PR videos? I don't know.

Obviously Kharkiv is easier to reach but isn't it mainly ethnic Russian Ukrainians that live there?

Not saying they'd be better hitting other parts as I would rather the war ended, just strikes me as odd. I thought the ukraine was supposed to be getting German long range missiles, which would make launching himars from Kharkiv unnecessary?

I'd say there are no regions in Ukraine where literally all people are ethnic Ukrainians, even in western parts. But ethnic Ukrainians are definitely more than ethnic Russians. By ethnic Russian, I mean someone who actually identifies as Russian, not a Ukrainian who only speaks Russian but still identifies as Ukrainian.

I had to look up at least rough estimates of ethnic Russians in Ukraine, and the most plausible one I found was on Wikipedia's web archive. Anything I checked closer to nowadays seemed like pure BS or propaganda.

The yellow color in the picture shows Ukrainians and red one ethnic Russians. Kharkiv is where I added an arrow.

Beyond these, there's hype right now about Tomahawk missiles. They're old US naval missiles launched from ships or submarines, but they can also be fired from the ground using the Typhon system. The US has only two of these systems.

But so far, besides all these game-changers and all sorts of NATO magic weapons, what's really worked (IMO) is their own Ukrainian-built drones and how they organized their use. Plus, a bigger drone called "Luty" that they fire at Russia's gas and oil plants.

It will be a tense time ahead. They're having a ping-pong game now. Ukraine had been hitting Russia's facilities since around Jan-Feb this year. Now Russia had enough and knocked out 60% of Ukraine's gas production in less than 2 weeks. Question is how long Ukraine gonna hold out and how long the west will keep pumping billions into it.

  • Kamianska HPP
  • Kanivska HPP
  • Kremenchutska HPP
  • Zaporizka HPP
  • Prydniprovska TPP
  • Trypilska TPP
  • Kaniv TPP
  • Kamianske TPP
  • Kremenchuk/Svitlovodsk TPP
  • Desnianska TPP
  • TPP-5, TPP-6
  • Dnipro TPP

- TPP stands for Thermal Power Plant
- HPP stands for Hydroelectric Power Plant

The statement from Ukrenergo at t.me/s/Ukrenergo/4188 confirms emergency shutdowns were introduced, which aligns with the facilities listed.
