Lindsay Graham hasn't seen a War that he doesn't like . I think Russia were wrong to invade Ukraine but Americans can hardly complain about anyone invading/ attacking another country .
Lindsey is a nutter, IMO. People like him create troubles for everyone. Here's him and McCain pissing in Ukrainian ears, not long after the above event.
Later on, Biden and Bojo added fuel to the fire. The result? Four Ukrainian territories said goodbye, billions in cash and weapons were dumped in, many people died, and geopolitics especially in Europe got messed up - and it keeps going. In 2022, Russia and Ukraine could have made peace before things heated up. Then Ukraine had way better position than it has now in 2025. Now Russia has much tougher conditions and things worsen.
As for Trump IMO, he plays the rockstar now who can control everything through trade tariffs and stop world wars to show that he can solve what others couldn't. It would work with Russia's case too, if Russia were interested in this - but not through ultimatums and tariff threats.
I'd also say Ukraine is just a pretext for Trump. The intent behind his actions is to show power in that region and find a way to quickly make money for the US. If the fighting stops, then what's the point they get from Ukraine? Mineral extraction? That would take ages just to set everything up for extraction, and they don't know whether it's really worth it.
Plus, if the fight stops, then weapon sales for Ukraine will stop overnight - which contradicts what he said recently about Europe buying weapons for Ukraine. Trump even touted cash benefits, saying "Each Patriot missile system costs roughly $1 billion"...
On the other hand, if the fight keeps going, he can then forget about Ukraine's minerals, which the US most likely knows, but weapon sales could mitigate those losses and bring back at least some of those billions that Biden sent to Ukraine.
It's a complicated matter.
In general, there is less to be gained from Ukraine by the day. BlackRock's move was a clear example of this when they stopped looking for investors for Ukraine's recovery.
