I now know you are a guy, Roanan. Wasn't sure til now. When men get pissed they let it all go. After all, guys are "like that". Then, if not poked and prodded, they see the light and all is well. The words used in your post at Dave's are over the top. I wish you would retract them and use less offensive words. Woman really do not deserve to be called that, no matter what.

I also wish you would edit your words about coming back here. You are an asset, if a bit snarky. Men are funny this way. If you back them in a corner about something, they will never relent and you are doing that to Max, not fair.

I asked him to check out the site and he let us know of 2 casinos that wasnt up to par and we yanked them, also that we copyrighted the flaming dice logo, they to will be gone.

He called Cindy a horrible name and for a man or any good honest man would never do that, private or not. He also made a slander against her mother whom Cindy lost to Cancer, im sure he didnt know that, but still it was also bad to say and it pissed me off.

Have i went overboard over at Daves site,im just answering back to his original thread and posts that he started, he wants MaxD to make a public apology here by in the morning or he has threatened to leave the forum, now that takes balls.

I like you also Jod and im sorry that this all took place as Roanan is very good at what he does but i feel he needs to say he is sorry for acting the way he did, here and at OCR.

Yes there is a not so sweet side to me sometimes but usually its brought on when i see a man degrading a woman by using foul words here or in our real life, abuse of women is something i take to heart and speak up for even if its just a foul word

My understanding from what was posted was the b*tch name calling was in awarding negative rep. This is not a PM, and just not cool at all with me. And even PMs should not give you licence to name call.

And if Roanan used the c word, the banning should be longer than a couple of days IMO.

My private response to this would be a lot more colourful but here I'll restrict myself to saying he earned it in spades and it's his to deal with as he sees fit.

So yes, I fully stand behind the ban and will go so far as to say that if he can't take a 48 hour holiday from CM without popping a gasket -- as he apparently already done at OCR (wtf?!?) -- then there are other issues involved way over and above what has happened here. Normally I give people who are abusive toward fellow members 2 weeks, Roanan got a reduced sentence because at least he didn't run off the rails in public (at least not here).

Whatever. I wish him a pleasant and peaceful weekend which, events permitting, is what I'm off to rustle up for myself.

I have closed the thread in question on OCR but have left Roanan's remark intact. Way over the line IMO and Max was being lenient in only banning Roanan for the weekend from his comments here on CM.

Whilst I haven't hit the ban button on OCR yet, I am hopeful Roanan will see the error of his ways and apologise either privately or publically.

Whoa - that thread went to hell in bucket quickly, and that was some pretty strong language deserving of disciplinary measures imo.

Just an observation; anyone who thinks he or she is so indispensible that they can threaten to leave a forum as a form of retribution or pressure has imv badly overestimated their personal value and contribution.

Maybe a brief PM to Max or Bryan would have been more appropriate than publicly posting, what was privately sent, ie. the neg rep comment? The end result probably would have been the same...a warning and/or suspension..but maybe "this" could have been avoided.

And just FTR, in no way do I condone that "term" that Roanan used, nor am I defending it...the suspension is warranted. And as I have been told numerous times, there is always that ignore function, for those person's posts that really annoy you. It's pretty nifty, and it takes away the need to "reply" when you see something that you probably shouldn't bother replying to.

Been off the boards for a couple of days but just finished reading the posts at OCR and I am very disgusted. To call anyone vile, degrading names is so way beyond nasty but to call a woman THAT particular word not only shows the poster's true nature but is so over the top that, in my opinion, a permanent ban would have been in order.

That said, the ignore button is a wonderful thing and should be used frequently. Sometimes it is better to take the high road and let stuff just roll over your head. Roanan shot himself in the foot. Nothing further needed to be said or done.

I like the fact that you play devil's advocate and are comfortable expressing you opinion and reading other people's opinions without taking it personally or taking a personal attack on someone.

I also like that you can look at a situation and sometimes see it in a different light than others can or do.

I happen to agree with you that PRIVATE should be private... however after many years I have learned the HARD way that this just isn't so in this day and age. I have learned that if you don't want something heard or shown or passed around... if you don't want people discussing anything you've said or written then it should never leave the comfort of your own thoughts.

In learning this I have learned a few things...

NEVER TALK OR WRITE ABOUT SOMEBODY SOMETHING YOU WOULDN'T SAY TO THEIR FACE

NEVER TRUST PEOPLE WHO YOU THINK ARE YOUR FRIENDS BECAUSE TOMORROW THEY MIGHT NOT BE... AND ANY SECRET YOU SHARED WITH THEM WILL BE OPEN PUBLIC INFORMATION.

ANYTHING YOU SAY CAN AND WILL BE USED AGAINST YOU... EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T SAY IT...

IMO it was well deserved, and anything short of a public apology would be inadequate. We all have differing opinions on a variety of subjects, but there is no need for that kind of abuse in the forums. I thought we were all here for a common goal, to make Igaming a more informed better and safer experience, but it seems some have lost their focus.
